Just need some info

been vaping for about 8 months now and I'm looking to upgrade . I'm looking at an itaste . Not sure if I want I want the mvp 3, the vtr or the itaste 134. Im wondering if any of those run sub zero and if so what's the best sub zero tank . I need something reliable , produces good vapor and does not leak . Also price isn't really an issue . Also what's the best vg juice % to use. Taste is somewhat secondary to vapor volume . Any suggestions are much appreciated ! Thanks

Now there's a handful of questions...welcome, by the way!

First off, I think the term you're looking for is sub-ohm, meaning any atomizer with a resistance of less than 1.0 ohm. I don't know that any of those devices you mentioned will handle a sub-ohm topper, most are fairly outdated tech now with the exception of the MVP3 which, while updated, still isn't an ideal choice for sub-ohm, though the people who've had them say they're durable workhorses for older-generation clearomizers with resistances of 1.2 and up.

If you want a sub-ohm clearomizer (tank), there are literally tons of choices, with new tanks coming on the market seemingly every few days. What are you looking for, huge clouds, strong flavor, something that won't drain your batteries too fast, an option to rebuild your own coils rather than buying the disposable ones?

What are you vaping on right now?

If you're looking for a device with a fixed battery, the iStick 30 and 50 watt versions seem to be popular - I've got a 50 on order but have no experience with any of these myself, as I've been using a Sigelei 100 with replaceable batteries. There are a few other choices that will also handle sub-ohm tanks with a built-in battery, and quite a few that run on replaceable 18650 batteries.

The only tanks I have personal experience with are the Aspire Atlantis and the Kanger Subtank - the Atlantis was the first to enter the sub-tank market, and while I liked the one I test drove in a vape shop, I read some disturbing stuff about their wicking material and decided not to buy. They've since fixed the wicking issues and recently released a 2.0 version. I own a couple of the Kangers, and while they're a big improvement from the old Protanks and Evods I used to vape before I switched from tanks to RDAs, they don't deliver quite the heavy hit I've become accustomed to dripping. I have a Horizon Arctic sub-tank on order, but haven't received it yet. It has lots of fans for its ability to hit at much higher power than the Kanger (and much higher power than the devices you initially mentioned are capable of providing), so do some of the other new ones including the Freemax Starre and the Herakles - these tanks are known for being power hungry and devouring juice at an insane rate, but they give the hit those of us used to dripping are looking for.

There's a thread on here called SUBTANK WARS, I'd suggest you spend some time there looking at the different options and seeing what appeals to you - almost every option (including ones I haven't mentioned) has its fans and detractors, but the info there should help you decide more what you're looking for.

Thank you very much for your reply ! I actually just ordered an Istick 50w with a kanger sub mini tank. I've read great reviews about both . Another question I have is about juice. I'm just now becoming aware of the diff ratios of the vg % . What % do you prefer and which one produces lots of vapor . I like a nice large vapor hit . Any brands you prefer ? As my name states I'm a truck driver and I forgot to it up the vape shop last time I was home and have been using truck stop brand juices that absolutely suck so any good juice brands / flavors / recommendations would be great . Also what is an rda and how does it differ from a regular tank ?

Clouds, all or higher % VG
My mix is 60%vg 40%pg, I am not after just the clouds, I like taste and enjoyment of vaping the way it mimic's the feeling of smoking.

I use predominantly max-VG juices that I make myself, they end up around 80-85% VG. Think of it this way - PG is better at carrying flavor, VG is better for clouds. Because it's thicker it's a bit difficult for most tank systems to wick - I've found that poking a couple holes into the wick on both holes of the Kanger heads makes them wick just fine for me - I'm on about the 15th tank through my Subtank mini and the coil is still doing great.

The Subtank is definitely going to give more vapor than you're used to if you've been using an older-style clearomizer, which is good - juice consumption isn't going to be so good, however. Depending on how much you vape, you might end up burning through a tank in an hour or two - meaning you may need another if you don't want to be stopping to fill all the time. Using all this extra juice also means you'll be getting more nicotine - most people step their nic level down when going to a sub-ohm setup. I personally went from 12 mg juice down to 6 mg and eventually to 3 mg.

As far as juice brands go, that's pretty subjective. Since I burn so much (probably about 20 ml/day between me and my wife), I decided to start mixing my own, as the cheap brands were crap and the fancy brands were just too expensive at $10-12 for a 15 ml bottle...Lots of people on here have found cheap juices they like online, however - go check out the juice review subforum for a while and you'll probably stumble on a few things to try.

RDA = Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer. Basically it's just a metal deck with negative posts milled in and a positive post in the center, covered by a cap. You build your own coil, install it, and wick yourself, using cotton or some other medium (I use rayon). Much bigger clouds than you'll get with either an old-style tank or that Kanger you've got on order, but they can be fiddly and have to be refilled every 5-10 tokes - not ideal for driving at all. I now only use mine at home, use my tank during the day as I only have to fill it up a couple times...
