OK, I'm getting to the end of teather with this vaping business!
I have the Kangertech Subbox. Cost me £70. I had some leaking issues but they are more or less sorted. My latest issue is more serious and hoping someone can help.
I changed the coil to the OCC 1.5Q 10w-26w instead of using the other, more powerful one (I have not tried using that RBC deck thingy yet or whatever its called). After changing it and using the device at 16W, I was delighted. Much smoother flow, tasted better, less popping and crackling. And less leakes. That was from Friday...until this evening.
All of a sudden, I started to get this horrid burnt ash taste. When I look inside, the element glows red when pressing the button. I believe this is referred to as a dry hit?
So I poured the juice away and refilled it just as I have for the last few days. Even though the thing was wet, I poured some juice direct onto the two little holes either side too (having read other threads) and filled it up again with fresh juice. Still the same. The thing burns red and the taste just about makes me puke. There is steam when I puff on it but it tastes gash.
I have the air holes setting set to the two small holes, rather than fully wide open, just as I always have done.
I currently can't use it. It is useless to me. I am so fed up I can't explain it. I spent that much on it thinking it would be a good, reliable solution meaning I'd have hassle free vaping. I've already taken one back for leaking and now this, with the other one. I can't possibly say to the wife that I'm going to go and buy another one.
What am I doing wrong with it this time? (these things are like computers when people say "can't I just do X" and there's a million things to do first. I thought I just had to open it, pour jiuce in, and press the button, but reading other threads it seems like this business has many variables as a complex coded program)
