The implication that ECF members would be above ballot stuffing is ridiculous...they are just people like anywhere else, prone to the same behaviors as anyone else.... just as ridiculous as people preferring a forum with a omnipotent staff that oversees a not evenly applied rulebook of gargantuan size that stifles their members ability to speak freely and vendors from being able to even speak to other members to provide help without paying cash tribute to the forum coffers...
That one got me too....I'm sure one of the sheep has already tattled on em and it is going to be gone, along with the member real quick...

Well, if ECF did indeed take the "High Road" and not get their non vaping friends to vote, since they tout that they are the largest vaping forum in the world, why couldn't they convince their own active members to take the time to vote?
My theory is that at one time or another, just about anyone new to vaping signed up for ECF membership. And when they saw all the BS and Banning that goes on over there they just stopped participating and went elsewhere. Or they were banned and went elsewhere.
Perhaps to HERE?
Just thinking out loud.
Furthermore, it isn't a vote exclusive to people who vape. I'm sure the friends and families of vapers are glad they stopped smoking and entitled to voice that with their vote.
Meh, I kinda think the "get the members to vote" thing is moot Uncle. VU has more members than voted in the poll. Difference is, people are SUPPORTIVE of this place. For whatever reason each person values, VU has the support. The other place doesn't.
Though I do see a lot of kindred spirits over a goofy banning off anther forum. It's not like that has any importance to me. My life doesn't come to a screeching halt because mods decide they don't want me on their forum. But, obviously some see it differently.

And I know that VU has people's backs. You don't get that over there. You get a warning.
Yes, many do see it very differently...often for good reasons....some people tend not to like being banned for doing next to nothing to deserve it...you said in a previous post that you have never been there....I see that....many of us have been there and have been members for a long time...some actual experience there might give you a point of reference to make a valid point concerning ECF and how it treats members...generalizations of a typical banning on a forum just doesnt give one the actually "flavor" of how these all powerful mods behave within their little kingdom...anything short of not behaving as the equivalent of an obedient Stepford Wife is likely a rules violation and often a ban-able offense....

isn't it a bit sad that a place with 8 times as many members couldn't muster more votes than this little upstart joint? that just shows me that this place's members are more loyal, while ECF members merely tolerate the place for the benefits it offers, sans the loyalty.

"Good reasons" that you and some others "feel" are important. It's an internet forum. Paid for and ran by someone else (a.k.a not you).
So while I can empathize with being treated shitty, did your life stop because you were banned? Did your life degrade because you couldn't participate in the forum?
I do not "need" to go there and put up with their ways. I do not need to be a member to "understand it". I just do not value or place my emotions on an internet forum.
The membership DOES directly correlate with the success of a forum. But the forum doesn't exist unless someone pays for it and does all the real work behind the scenes. We are members at the WHIM of other people. We have no "rights" to be there or say something that the ownerships finds objectionable.
I guess I just see it as a HUGE waste of energy and emotion to harbor hate or ill feelings over such petty bullshit. All in the end, it does is just feed those who screwed you over anyway. You don't think they are laughing at how they affected your life? You give them FAR more power than they deserve.

Truth. I did not vote. I would have voted for VU, but I honestly did not know about it. Didn't receive any email about it.
Then again, I am the most clueless person you'll ever meet. I regularly forget my own birthday.
I am a member on ECF since July of '11, but haven't posted in nearly a year.
Kinda want to log on sometimes, to be able to see some of the pictures, (kind of a fucked up way to treat guest visitors to the site).
I feel VU's victory is well deserved.
That, and I usually root for the underdog.
