It looks nice but if I'm going to get a dual 18650 mod I would just go with a DNA200. I don't see any advantage to getting a DNA75 in a dual 18650 configuration. It has less power available if needed and the chip isn't as efficient. You can always turn a DNA200 (133 watts in 2 x 18650 configuration) down, but you can't turn the 75 up past 75..
Cheers,
Steve
It's dual 18650 wired in parallel (it has to be because I believe the DNA75 has a maximum input of 4.5v)Is this one dual or single battery
I don't understand why Evolv made a 75w chip and not a 100w. If it was any other company I would assume it was just a marketing ploy and the 100w would come out right after everyone had bought the 75w.
Evolv doesn't do 100 watts per battery. Their dual battery 18650 mods are capped at 133 watts. You have to have 3 batteries in series for the DNA200 to get 200 watts. It's one of the reasons I have respect for them. If you've read some of my posts you know I despise dual battery 200 watt mods. When you consider most of us use 20 amp CDR 18650's, 75 watts is really all that you should try to squeeze out of one. I'm not saying it's not possible to get more when fully charged or when you draw 35 amps from themI don't understand why Evolv made a 75w chip and not a 100w. What it comes down to is most dual battery mods that claim 200 watts (or single battery mods that claim 100), simply don't do what they advertise. Rant over. I'm sorry about the rant but it's a subject I'm passionate about.

I didn't mean it as an attack on you at all buddy. I just usually bite my tongue on the subject and every once in awhile I don't bite down hard enough. It wasn't directed at you. It's just the subject. The deeming fda regs have me a little bit on edge. That's a big duuuur on my behalf. Come to think of it, I think I made the same comment in the original DNA75 thread and you gave me the same well thought out, logical response. Some of us never learn until the second time around![]()
Now see for a squonker I'd be happy with a DNA 75 in that format.I wish they did the halcyon with dual 18650 or did a 75w dna squonk
these 75w mods are all the same size as dual 18650s
but you can't turn the 75 up past 75..

"But I don't understand why you are only considering parallel cells when series cells are better on safety and performance with the right board. EG. a DNA 200 in 2 cell operation (133 W) using series cells is >= 97% efficient and monitors each cell individually. With parallel cells you loose the better efficiency of step down only regulation, the individual cell monitoring and depending on the mod have a very real danger of generating extreme currents inserting cells if they are at different voltages."
yeah dna40 was a breed in its own, plus you couldnt access escribe with it and play with power levels, cut off voltages and everything else. People are going to be doing things in escribe they probably shouldnt be doingLost vape also did the parallel dna40. I think for them its the run time, that they feel some people want.
Well, the point of a modders board has always been for people that like to tinker. Just like all things tech, it evolved statically.yeah dna40 was a breed in its own, plus you couldnt access escribe with it and play with power levels, cut off voltages and everything else. People are going to be doing things in escribe they probably shouldnt be doing
They say in this post that they will.I posted this on Lost Vapes FB page about 30 minutes ago. I wonder if they will answer, take it down, or just ignore it?
"Are you going to release a DNA200 (133 watts) version of the Therion? I don't see any advantage to using the DNA75 chip in a dual 18650 mod. The DNA200 chip is more efficient, than a DNA75 (97% vs 85% per Evolv's specs) so you get longer run-times. It gives you more flexibility for power (133 watts vs 75) and can be turned down if not needed (both chips go down to 1 watt).

Steve
Thanks Jack, I wasn't aware of that post. I'm leaving mine up anyway. I figure the more people that ask, the more likely they will actually do it. I laid it out for them pretty clearly why it would be a no brainer. They say in this post that they will.

The DNA133 isn't a dumbed down DNA200 board. It's the exact same board. The DNA200 is 200 watts when using three cells in series. It's limited to 133 watts when using two cells in series. There isn't a DNA133 board, it just depends on the amount of cells in series as to whether it's output is 133 or 200 watts.
- Yes i seen the backs they are releasing separately , just a shame they won't do so for the triade i have. The grey paint peels easy also , but with therion you might be able to break it down an recoat it wjen paint peels , but i have held off buying the therion awaiting the 133 dna board, its basically a dumbed down dna 200 , so in future could take board out an put in a diy build an possibly get it back to 200 idk , but deffo more appealing having it at 133 w , on pre sale everywhere now , so should be put soon enough reviews have already got theres
