Hi Rich, I just got back on about 15 minutes ago, how did the day treat you my friend
Same as always, Jimi. While yesterday was when Winter officially started (solstice), today was the first full day of Winter and the high temperature was 34 and right now (almost 11 PM), it is 21. Yup, this is the beginning of Winter.

Hope your dog is better today, Rich
Not really. Spent some time researching hypothroidism because we suspect that might have been the root cause of her current pains (bodies are so linked that a hangnail might turn out to be the reason for kidney failure, or something like that). Most treatments for that are synthetic chemicals (all of which make her incontinent) and I am trying to find a more holistic treatment, with less cost, less pissing in the house, and less pain for her.
I forget when it actually began, was it Sept?
"Officially," yesterday, but yes, September is when the winter-like coldness started.

In what doses? B12 is great for the nervous system, and the thyroid needs iodine, but very very little (sometimes what is in the salt that is in your food is an overdose). What would the selenium do for the dog?

Correct me if I am way off base here, but I always thought ashwagandha was used to reduce mental and physical stress...

Those three products worked for me, I would dose dependant on weight....I'm about 185lbs....therefore, I take 1ml of liquid B12, 4 drops of iodine, and one 500mg of selenium, daily....my hypothyroid dropped like a rock. It was perfectly normal my last doctor visit Friday.

When dosing by weight, do you use current weight (109) or what she should be for her skeletal frame size (60# - she is overweight because of the thyroid issue)?

Jimi...I got a shitload of veggies for the juicer....hopefully It'll make about a liter tomorrow....love the flavors.

You were correctly, the straight juice is so much different than just making smoothies with the veggies.

I'd go with what Dale says he knows more about the thyroid than I.
I'm taking notes on what both of you are saying. I still have some serious research to do to save this dog's ass and maybe have a head-to-head ... ummm, "discussion" with the vet on how she is going to be treated and with what medications. Neither Lannie nor I are the types to lie down and let a doctor dictate to us. We will find a better solution.

The benefits and how good it makes you feel are much greater too than a smoothie

Rich, you don't have to be perfectly accurate, in small doses none of the products will cause harm. It's really astonishing how many people are not getting enough iodine, zinc, B12, selenium in their regular diet. Many don't get enough on a healthy diet

That's because the soil is so worn out and full of toxins

If you know Mike personally, send him an email...I'm sure he could help.

If you stay with it every day you wont believe how much better you feel, I am almost to week 4 and can't believe the difference, I drink 2 quarts every day in 8 ounce intervals

Thanks, and all potential solutions will be checked thoroughly. Currently, we suspect the thyroid caused the kidney issue, which in turn caused the stomach ulcer. I know we need to attack the ulcer first to get her back on a healthy diet, but then I have to go back "upstream" to make sure everything gets fixed so there are no recurrences. Did that make sense?

Perfect sense, I should have thought about the thyroid last night, but didn't....I'm glad something clicked for you and Lannie to consider it could be a cause of the problems.

Sounds like a sound plan to me. You know the vet is gonna say you are crazy and that naturals don't work though. There are some new holistic vets popping up here and there, probably more here than there though.

We are a real "Odd Couple" in that, unlike most married people, we actually do sit down and have logical discussions, do serious scientific and/or medical research, fit the pieces of the puzzle together and move forward in a joint effort.

If you do get Ashwagandha be sure to get fermminted that's why people thing it doesn't do much is because they went out and bought a cheap one, this is true with most herbs
You know what's really funny here? If you look that up on Googlie, 9 out of 10 websites discussing it are not even in English, yet it is commonly available at Wally World.
