Hope you figure it out, Rich....I'd send Mike an email for the hell of it tho
I will certainly consider that option, but what I know of Mike, he's too busy saving the world to be worried about one old dog. But then again, he has shown himself to be strange enough to drop everything and do what is least expected. :)

Nitey night.

"They" are working on that right now, it is gonna be illegal to go out of country to cure your cancer, they are pushing that one hard
That would not be an issue if we had socialized medical care vs for profit medical care.
Those what want to buy private insurance still could.
GB has socialized medicine and is beginning to actually recommend vaping as a safer alternative to smoking.
Doctors are not permitted to do so here.
And no big pharma reps can directly approach doctors or pharmacies there either.
so no kickbacks and such for prescribing a medicine.

I know that a discussion of socialized medicine borders on politics, which we do not want to discuss in this thread, so I will attempt to be as tactful as possible. I lived in England for 3 1/2 years (1968-71) and the U.S. federal tax rate at that time (on my salary level) was about 18%. The same salary to the English people was taxed at about 50% - way back then, and it is even worse today. I still have a few friends, both in England and Canada, who have waited over six months to be able to even see a doctor about problems that are painful and, potentially, life-threatening. The only way those people could get to see a doctor immediately was to go to the ER, which just further backed things up because people with a common cold were showing up at the ER, then being turned away (or handed some pills and then turned away). Is that really the way you want to live?

Side note: Only two countries on the planet allow television drug ads: The USA and New Zealand. And NZ is one of the biggest socialist countries you'll ever find, so you'll never convince me that socialism keeps Big Pharma at bay.

Just my opinion but between Medicare, Medicaid and the VA many are already using socialized medicine in the USA.

And on pharma costs... Why is big pharma so against us getting cheaper meds from Canada?

And MOST of our presc medicines are NOT made in the USA.

Sounds a lot like the VA

And much of our prescription medicines are made with ingredients from China and other countrys.
Remember the Heparin killing people thing.
Not as big a stir as the poison dog food though since no dogs died from tainted Heparin.
Testing and oversight on drug ingredients seems a bit lax.
And corps will only regulate themselves to help us if hit squarely between the eyes with a 2X4 ;)
History is full of proof on that...

And no that is not political, just facts and history.

Yep the VA is the only reason my little brother is still alive.
He would have died if left to the for profit Health care industry.
Single male with just enough income to disqualify for medicaid. And no ins provided with most all of his employers.
Auto repair, etc line of work.
Sure the ones at the dealerships have an ins option. But they are the minority of auto mechanics.

Ahh but I go on Medicare in 3 months :D
Beats the $750 a month I pay now. And it kinda sucks like Medicare but at least I pay less for the suck.

I did not say we shouldn't try to "fix" the FDA (and we all know they need BIG TIME fixin') and take the draconian control away from Big Pharma, but at the same time, those issues do not, in and of themselves, constitute a single-payer socialized medicine. England/Canada/New Zealand,Australia/etc. do have some private doctors, but you'd better be a millionaire if you want to use them. As for medicaid and medicare, I will never use them. I am thoroughly entrenched in the VA system, however, but I also have the liberty to go to a doctor/hospital outside of their system without having to pay addition premiums.

Yep the VA is the only reason my little brother is still alive.
And that is probably true for me too. They fixed things in me that I would never have been able to pay for on my own and I had NO insurance.

I think I say think that those country's still do also have private health care insurance available?
I wonder if they offer a Medigap type of supplemental insurance?

Ohh and I will NOT discuss taxes that always becomes political
And overspending is a non partisan issue ;)

Yeah, I hear that one.

Today wasn't much fun. When we went out for morning chores, I found my old Quarter horse, Windy (AQHA name: Big Wind) dead in the barn. She was, however, 29 years old (that's 90 in human years) and it was likely a quick death (heart just stopped or something). No signs of struggle due to pain or anything.
How's Dobie doing?
Same as yesterday. Not too bad, but not significantly improved either.

Oh shit - dealing with that is more than a notion

Yeah, seems like this kinda crap is just piling on here lately. Sick Doberman, dead horse, 23 cats to take to vet for spay/neuter, forecast of heavy snow on the days I have those appointments, etc., etc. I wish I could take a vacation somewhere warm and dry.....

Oh Shit, sorry to hear that, at least he/she lived a long and happy life. Ground is probably too wet to bury or not?

She. Windy was a huge (almost 18 hands) ranch horse (who needs reins? Use your knees to steer) that they called a gray (her color was actually white with red freckles). For being a woman's horse (in her younger years), she was pretty friendly with me.
Ground is probably too wet to bury or not?
Too frozen to dig a hole. A neighboring rancher will come over in his big tractor tomorrow and take her back to his place where she can be dropped in a deep hole (group cattle grave) and a bit of dirt shoved in on top. No way to do that here on my property.

Didn't read all said today, how is your dog doing today, Rich?....you find anything to help?
She's not really going in one direction or another, but I have the B12 liquid and iodine on order. Found something else that might work called GreenMin, but it is single-sourced (by the holistic doc who created it) so it is very expensive.

I've read about GreenMin in the past, but that's the extent of my limited knowledge....I'll do a search

Yes. What I have been able to figure out is that it is vegan, but he won't tell you the ingredients or even how big that $50 jar is (250mL, 300mL?). Most of the reviews say it is great stuff, but there are a few that say "it doesn't work."
Amazon shows the ingreds.

Seems to have ingreds similar to Spirulina
I think that is one of the items in there (California grown). I'd like to know everything that's in it. He doesn't have to give me a formula to create it, but why should I give it to my dog when I don't know what it is. And just because he claims to be a holistic doctor is not enough to trust him.

Sorry to hear about the horse, wow....not your week
Actually, I am surprised she lived so long. The person who is mourning the most is Horus, my Arab gelding. They were best buds and now she is gone, so he has no one but the cows to hang out with.
