Yikes! SIL troubles..Just found out that my bro live in companion/life mate has a brain tumor. She went to the eye doctor because she had eye pain. He noticed a increase of pressure and sent her to the hospital for a MRI. They found tumors. They sent her to another hospital in St Louis (Barnes Jewish) and is scheduled for brain surgery on Friday. In one weeks time her world turned dark. I never met her but I am offering support to my bro. He is taking care of her children right now.

You know what the saddest part of that picture is? They are probably all texting each other. Turn around and look them in the face and talk with your mouth you stupid mother fuckers!!!

My little brother is losing his hearing badly and refuses to learn sign language

When I went to see him last December I would have more than half of our communication was through text even though we were in the same room as I got tired of writing down important shit and passing him a note

What is sad is that kids believe texting family members sitting at the same dinner table is the best way to communicate, just because the texts cannot be interrupted. That, and they don't have to look anyone in the eyes while they are lying through their thumbs.

I am pretty much deaf, but I have hearing aids in both ears. I cannot hear everything (like birds chirping, dogs farting, wife mumbling if not pointed in my direction). I also have learned to read lips, but you have to be facing me for that to work.

My mother needs hearing aids, but refuses to get them. She don't like batteries that die every 2 to 3 hours.

My step dad had gotten one. Medicaid paid $6K for it. Batteries cost $40 a day, so he quit using it. No idea what my mom did with it, but it was custom made to fit his ears, so nobody else could use it.

My batteries last 5 days. I wear these suckers from about 8 AM until 9 PM (nothing I want to hear after Lannie goes to bed), so figure 13 hours x 5 days = 65 hours per battery. And if it is a vanity issue (a lot of women don't want people to see that they have hearing aids), the electronics portion sits on top of the ear with a tiny tube that wraps into the ear. My hair covers the top portion and the clear tube is nearly invisible. Her "excuses" are not valid today.

I have been using these particular hearing aids for over three years without any issues whatsoever, and if you have to buy these tiny air cell batteries at Wally World, the cost in pennies per day.

I disagree, if she keeps eating greasy shit like that, I give her 3-5 yrs more yrs, tops. ;)

Andria

Maybe. it is how I have eaten for almost 64 years.
It depends on how much of it you eat, genetics, etc.

Aside from my bad back my Doctor and my tests say that I am in very good shape for my age.
Ohh and some defective neurons too ;)

She likes the freedom of not relying on devices to help her hear. The TV got so loud that I put computer speakers next to her chair, with a cable running from the TV to those speakers. Otherwise, I was wearing headphone style hearing protection just to sit in the same room as her. You know, the ones used on the firing range, or when operating a chainsaw. Yet, I could still clearly hear the TV.

I'm hearing impaired and can't afford to get a hearing aid. I went the last 2 years for hearing tests. My ENT said I should. I will go get a freebie test next time. Anyone try the hearing aides for sale on the internet?

I have heard that the best ones for the money are from Sams Club.
I have an uncle that swears by them.
