With this configuration (using RTA) I was able to fit right at 6ml in.
First wicking (as picture) was too thick.
Wasn't causing actual dry hits but just wasn't enough juice going through it.
Rewicked a bit thinner and the flavor really came to life.
ZERO SPIT BACK
For 95% of you, this is a good thing.
Myself, I'd prefer just a touch to get that much more of the super sweet flavoring of the great DIY juice I vape.
With the amount of flavor it is producing, I can't complain.
After 14 fills, this thing is still going strong and keeping me pretty happy.
I may have to have all four color options for my collection.
I was able to fit 6.5ml including priming coil - soaked 20 minutes (cause I forgot about it)
Vaped until showing no juice, each refill was right at 5ml.
airflow full open
.15 reading .13 (rated 50 - 260)
85 = weak flavor n clouds
90 = loads of cloud - ok flavor
100 = " "
110 = a little more both
120 = more flavor, equally large vapor
- even with the more flavor, it is like a ceramic coil at first, leaving you feel like you aren't getting enough of a hit
- This could potentially lead someone to think it is a weak hit but it isn't
- glass a little warm, vape is only warm
130 - good vapor production, a wee little more flavor, a bit warmer, still comfortable
140 - more vapor, LESS flavor, no temp change
150 - decided to let it cool to room temp first
- flavor REALLY came in, NICE.
160 - same big clouds, touch more flavor
170 - seems same as 160 but a wee bit warmer, still comfortable
- noticing a pattern here, once the tank gets warm the flavor weakens
- as soon as you allow it to cool to room temp the flavor is right where expected/desired
180 - can't say I can tell a difference between this and back to the 160 watts other than temperature
- warmer but not what I personally consider HOT yet
190 - no change but temp
200 - " "
- observation - starting at about 140 you only get about 5 or 6 good hits before the temp rises and the flavor diminishes
210 - just a bit more flavor, same clouds as last 6 wattage changes (back to 150)
220 - surprised me with a bit more flavor, a bit warmer but not hot to ME
230 - weakened flavor
235 - mod maxed but doubt the vape will get any better with increased wattage.
I've been through the entire range of power settings with this coil and can't say I found MY sweet spot.
Mostly due to chaninvaping and once the coil gets warmed enough the flavor starts to mute a little so I'd go searching for a new number instead of allowing the coil to cool a bit to get back to the great flavor it was producing.
So on one hand, self inflicted.
On the other hand, I haven't figured out why the flavor is weakening once the coil gets on the warm side.
(10 hits each setting)
quiet, smooth, only slight resistance = not overly airy
This coil lasted for 9 tank fills.
That may sound like a short life however due to my particular DIY juice that is right on par with all Smok and Ijoy coils.
I use extremely super sweet and high flavor percentage juice so it kills ALL coils within 2 day max with the exception of the Smok Micro TFV4 0.3Ω CLP2 coils that somehow last me two weeks.
.2 reading .18 (rated 70 - 120)
70 - fair flavor and clouds but nothing to write home about
80 - No change
90 - A bit of "new coil" taste but a bit more vapor production, no increase in flavor
100 - More flavor this time, with plenty of vapor
110 - Too high for this coil, starting to taste burnt
90 seems to be about the right spot for me
Be cautious when removing the coils from the tubes they are packaged in.
Watch carefully for the white O-ring that is on the bottom of the coil.
When the coil is on its way out of that tube, the O-ring can fall off.
This didn't happen when removing the coil from the base, only the tube it is packaged in.
