OK ... So I made up a 10 ml sample with no flavouring. Just 80/20 VG/PG and 3mg nic strength. I shook up the 'working' bottle of nic VERY well before adding it and then shook up the mixture as well. I'm finding it a TAD harsh but not really that bad at all and there's a slight peppery taste but very minimal. I think I'm going to store the working bottle of nic in the fridge for now and do another test against the remaining nic that has been kept in the fridge since I got it. I also added a bit more VG to the last harsh mixtures I made and it seemed to help them a bit.
So now I'm wondering if I just didn't shake the nic up enough before adding it to my mixtures or perhaps some of my flavours are a bit high. I'll be sure to report back after I compare to the nic I've kept in the fridge.
- Some flavors are known to give the same harsh / peppery hits. Vanilla Bean Ice Cream being one of them. I do not have a full list.
- Some people are allergic to PG and have to have more VG in their mixes. This *could* cause a harsh taste as well. Move your VG up by 10 at a time to identify what your preference is.
- Some flavors can cover up the harsh / peppery hit of the oxidized nicotine so that you never notice it.
