It's kinda pricey but I'm absolutely in love with my Kennedy 22 RDA. This thing is a beast and gives great flavor.

I'm sure that there are probably some decent clones out there as well. And a decent priced mod that works really well, for me anyways, is the Fuchai-200W by Sigelei. You can run coils down to .05 Ohms and it's cheaper than the Sigelei 150W. I think I paid 70 bucks for it. Shit you can get it here for 59.99 and it comes with two Samsung or LG batteries.

You also don't need to do any type of fancy wicking .... I threw some in the coil and I'm getting any where from 12-15 hits before it's even starting to dry out

Good maybe, but as good definitely not, my TM has has been flawless since I bought it 6 months and countless builds ago, not even a single stripped grub, and the machining is top notch to match. If you have money to splurge a bit why not get an authentic, and not something insane like a velocity lol

So I really enjoyed that staggered variation and decided to see what I could do in 30 min before I left work yesterday. Pumped out another staggered variation and decided to pair it with my previous build.
Wire #1: 2 inner cores consisting of twisted 4x32n80 claptoned in .5kA1, framed in 28kA1, staggered and claptoned in 36n80
Wire#2: the core is a single cable consisting of 3 separate 4x36n80 twisted wires, framed in 26n80, staggered and claptoned in 36n80
I ran these parallel with wire#1 having 1/2 wraps and wire#2 at 2/3 wraps.
2.98 i.d.

Fantastic flavor and vapor production.
I don't see this being feasible in the majority of rda's but I've been having fun with the aeronaut. CrazyChef...I do believe you should try this build. Flavor is fecking phenomenal.

31 draws and its still putting out...I only dripped 11 drops on it. Its very warm but it does drop off but its satisfying with how much it pushes before it drops off....and this is at 510°F/151w on the Hohm Wrecker...In Power Mode I get about 3 draws before needing to redrip...
I just put it in like I normally would...

Griffin rebuild today! Got some 38gN80 in the mail so we have some fused claptons 2x28N80/38gN80 8 wraps on 3mm for .33ohm. Delicious.

Hmm, might have to look into it just to give it a shot.
Its better then anything before it, think of it like Kanthal with TC and the resistance is slightly lower...26g acts like 24g/ect. Its warmer and taste better then anything else, even kanthal..and I suggest anyone who wants to TC something get the Hohm Wrecker G2...Kanthal TC is amazing.

27/38 staged with 26g. All kanthal. Reads .23.
I haven't done staged coils in forever. Just had some 38/27 clapton wire laying around and didn't feel like doing my usual 8-wrap, 2mm series build with it (I've still got those fused 38/30's going strong for that niche,) so I thought I'd try something I never do. Honestly wasn't sure how it would go. It's very responsive and the flavor is really full, velvety, and nuanced, but it lacks that oomf and density that I like. The vapor production is pretty weak for the power it takes, too.
Just not quite enough surface area to get it there. I don't think an extra wrap and an ID a notch up would've held it back. The heat is manageable but there's enough to sacrifice for a bit more lushness. Wicking seems to be holding it back considerably more than I expected.
Or maybe I should've staged it with 24g or 25g instead. When I wrapped it up, I thought the clapton had a 28g core, since that's what I used to do when standard claptons were more prevalent in my rotation. I didn't look down at what I had written on the label for them until it was too late.
Doesn't need as much power as I was expecting. The point of diminishing returns is steep at 100w. To me, this means I had a lot more wiggle than I thought. It would have been better to go bigger with this style of coil. I probably could have balanced it to a higher-wattage sweet spot and gotten much better performance out of it. It would be great if I could take it up a notch and open the Mutation x v3 all the way up.
Oh well. I can try again tomorrow if I feel like it, as I've got plenty of that 38/27 clapton wire. I think I'd rather try staging something with fused 40/28 if I try this again, though. Coulda stood to squeeze a tad more surface area in, but I wanna keep the responsiveness and heat-retention on-point. I dunno. I've never felt a need to stage. Straight fused claptons always seem to do the job.
Like, it's a solid vape... ...it's not a total failure. I just know of far better builds than this and I feel like this build isn't living up to its full potential.
It came out pretty nice lookin' though. Staged coils are simple and purdy.. ...they turn nice colors because of that mixed ramp, too.

well if anyone asks me, the alien framed staple will be a FR A PLE. a Framed Staple is what it is.
Why not Frapple...like Snapple? If you say FR A PLE...sounding it out its more like like F RAPE EL...why not something sweet instead of dark and in-dignifying? I like Snapple...and Framed Staples...
I just love the color from nichrome really beautiful. This is a 2x 24g n80 core with 34 g n80 fused Clapton 5 wraps around a 3 mm screwdriver ohms out at .08. If I would have done it during the day the colors would have come out better but I did them at night in my basement so it's kinda dark. Does anyone else have to change out there could after 3-4 days? Mine and my wife coils seem to go out quickly

When we want to build yes but you dont need to change them if you dryburn and rewick them...I had a 2x22K/46N60 build I have going for well over 5 months and used it every day....I actually gave the RDA away with the coils still in it and Im sure they are still going strong. There isnt a real reason to change them out unless you just want to try something else out.

What type of juices are you using? Like raymo2u said, sometimes all you really need is a good cleaning.
heres a challenge. i picked up the Griffin rta and its great, but im limited to 40w on my istick. so far ive tried dual coil triple parallel 32k, fused 28k and fused 30k. they do ok, but not the best flavor. so what do you think would work well in here? im thnking i have to keep the resistance higher to compensate for the lack of power.any thoughts?
Simple answer get a different mod if you're liking your Griffin...I've got a very simple 24g build in mine but it takes at least 60w to wake up..it really shines at 70w...I'm running it on the 200w RX200..just a thought, and good luck..

ive got bigger mods, but the istick is the only one i have with usb charging. and since i have to be on the road 12+ hours a day, i need something i can charge in the truck. for the time being, thats the istick 40.
You got a tube or Mech Box? the Griffin has an adjustable Pin so it works even on hybrids...
With only 40w max you'd be limited to some 28g 6-8 wraps/2.5mm Coils or thinner wire...but dont expect satisfying results, but you could very well be surprised..

on a side note, whats a good build for the twisted messes. i got it at the same time as the griffin. ive been using staged fused claptons and its good but the twisted messes is so airy i think it needs something bigger.
