Yep. I went to the pawn shop for my go to drill. Only $40 for the drill and 3 batteries.
It was nice to be able to test them first so I would know which ones were able to spin slowly for staggering.

Nah brah the 'Clapton Tool' was less than ten LoL. Apologies if I worded my previous post confusingly. When you put the motorized 'Clapton Tool' on a mech mod you have made a 'Clapton Tool Mod'. I'm sure there a many subjective, far superior ways of making clap wire but alas i got one of these for the funzees, I figured Id tell you guys about it.
The Wingman sleeve fits the SMPL 350 with the 22mm heat sink on it. Who doesn't have a heat sink laying around? The Clapton Tool is 24mm wide, the SMPL with Able sleeve is 24mm.
The Motorized Clapton Tool will work with with voltages 3.7v - 12v, so you can used the motor on let's say a stacked Able Mod or NC, and it will spin 2x as fast as when on a single battery. It would spin 3x as fast on a triple stacked Able Mod.
We're not talking about making 30 yards at a time, so pressing the button isn't really that big a deal. Drill has a trigger too. A Magnet on the bottom contact closes the circuit if you want it to stay on w/o pressing the button. A side-fire mech with stacked 350s is probably the most useful way to use this tool.
So like I said before, the motorized Clapton tool can be had for 10$ or less, I had all the other shit, plus swivels n wire. I can now bang out a couple feet of alien wire with this setup and mount a pair in the time it takes To watch an episode of WestWorld. It's more quiet than a drill in the middle of the night, as well. ;]

I actually like the SMPL Clapton tool lol, it may not be the most precise or advanced tool, and is not as good as a drill, but for me it would be perfect as finding time to run the drill with a 4 month old can be a bit complicated lol. I may have to make one for myself and see what's up! I've been itching to start working on Aliens and moving forward with my build skills again. Haven't built anything since July outside of twisted or just round wire.

Well the reason I ask is because if you look up ssfc on ebay they are selling them for about what I would...but they suck out loud. They use 34g.

Alot of those sellers on Ebay (Besides Chef and Big_D here) have many angry customers....Ive heard so much crap that has happened with them its unbelievable how some arent being sued..
My SSFC's would be comprised of 12 x .3R/30g 316L/38g 316L/ 42N80 or KD
It would take roughly about 40 minutes start to finish for a pair and I wouldnt charge less then $25/pair for them due to the time, difficulty and material need for them and most people will think Im crazy for charging less then $40 for them...but Im not really running a true business model...Im the guy building to sustain his collection, not a company...

I did a single coil Stagg in the other Reload RDA...
I thought about it. I'll probably try a 32g multi-core one after I get the frames right for the helix ssfc. As I go down fusing it the twists get farther apart. Last night widowmaker said to twist till it breaks from both ends. That's just what I'll do.

I'm going to go for a 3x 26g sized one I think using a 24g decore.
Here's what I'm thinking:
Lay out 32g till I'm the right width and glue them. Repeat that a few times and stack them till I'm the right thickness.
Glue both ends good and twist around the swivel. Sound right? I skipped the various binding I'll use. Seems like a given.
I bet they suck up the juice and light up fast.

15-20 strands of 32, Loop and glue. Use a Ribbon Slider or Drawstring squeezy thing for support. Use 22g decore and just let it wrap itself, make sure to stretch it to the width you want before wrapping it and wrap with barely any tension.

So it took almost two weeks but I finally got my Spin LT, and they threw in a free matching black cord lock for holding the cores... I havent really put it to a good test yet but I am impressed with the quality even if its a tad over-priced. Do you guys recommend any disassembly and lubrication before I really cut into it? And if so what should I use?
Ok, that makes sense. The reason I said 24g is because I've used 22g before and ended up with hollow sides on a 4x 28g.
I had some singer sewing oil laying around so I use that. I use a syringe to get between the seal and ring.
Don't use wd40 on bearings.
If the bearing spins freely then your good to go, just makes sure its perfectly lined up to your drill chuck.

Yes. I bind 4" in a few spots and double it over the swivel. Then hold it flat with pliers and twist the swivel.
You can also use less by binding and bending the last 1.5" or so over the swivel so they are sitting side by side or over top and bind them together.

The frame got messed up during the whole "how do I stagger ribbon" debacle. But I didn't feel like making more. I have a new clip that is on point. Had to drive 30 minutes to the closest town for diapers. My buddy wants some coils so gonna build him something then build me more

That depends on what you posted and where..there are a few on the forum that are "entertainers"...just roll with the punches bud. Growing with the forum slowly and building a reputation will help you in the long run but dont expect everyone to treat you decently, trolls are every where and its a Saturday night
Plus builders seem to be the more caring group of vapers, its more then a fad or hobby for them, its a lifestyle and 99% of us are in it to help others

I stay in this thread. Not for the reason you posted but because I'm a niche type. I like mods, attys and stuff but I have no money so I don't entice myself. But I love building and learning about it. I love helping people build but I got tired of all the "What wire should I use", "How many wraps of this" and "this tank leaks" threads. After answering these questions 100 times I'm positive...it can be looked up. Hell I didn't join ECF till long after I learned all this stuff on my own.

If you're using a coilmaster v4 (recommended) you'll almost always loose that first wrap. I immobilize the wrap on both ends with glue (so the clapton doesn't move), stick the wire in the slot holding it with my thumb and make one full turn pushing the wire with my thumb other thumb. If anyone hasn't gotten a good spacing method for ssfc try this crap.
Use the loop method to get and inch from the chuck and start using the bag clip method ( @raymo2u will have to link it) and finish out the wire. Leave the clip on but cut the wire off. Glue it down where the clip spacing started and right next to the clip. Tahdah! Now you have a stick that won't move or spring back.

Thats one tool I havent picked up yet, I still coil freehand around drill bits holding the wire and bit in one hand and wrapping with the other.
You need one for staples. Either that or bite one end in a vice. It needs to be tight the whole time and your wrists don't swivel. If it's not tight the cores can fold over in the wrap or the whole thing can flop over.
If you get a jig, it needs to be a V4. The V3 doesn't have the slot. I'm sure there's another one out there but I've never seen it.

I'd like to disassemble and heat treat it.
Does anyone know the specifics of doing this? I'd imagine you'd clean the piss out of it, heat the desired areas and quench it so it doesn't loose it's anti corrosive properties but I don't know for sure.

The fire will clean it! Get it glowing and dunk that sucker! I heat treated my cutters after I sharpened them. I saw those rdta versions and wasn't sold. I love my azeroth too much.
Well that's why I want one. The Azeroth would be another 20 to get two and I can't swing it. I almost forgot something I need. PLASTIC GEARS!
Looks like it's the same design as the original avocados, gotta pull your wick tail to fill it, that will get old quick if that's the case. I love my avocados, amazing flavor and great clouds but I can drain the tank in 20 minutes so they only get used when I'm being lazy and lounging in my recliner
