Yep. I went to the pawn shop for my go to drill. Only $40 for the drill and 3 batteries. You got a AV sleeve, a heatsink and a 18350 SMPL for less then $10? How does it clapton without a motor? No real control on speed and you need to hit the button to run it?
a Drill or Dremel and a Spool Tamer for less then $30 altogether makes the perfect setup that does much more then just clapton.
Or ebay. I'm getting some when I get paid from my buddy.Beadalon 3-Piece Spool Tamer Set https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KAZ139M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_SwIsybD5XS36T

Any time I order from Amazon I spoof a new email and get a 1 month prime account...not just for the free shipping but to stick it to the man while purchasing products from the man.
How do you guys set up a 4+ core alien?
My way seems hit or miss.

Depends on what you feel they are worth....There isnt a standardHow much are coils worth? Assuming they are perfect.
Nothing super original just the advanced basics.
Alien, staple/framed ,fraliens/staliens, SFC and SSFC.
Well the reason I ask is because if you look up ssfc on ebay they are selling them for about what I would...but they suck out loud. They use 34g.Depends on what you feel they are worth....There isnt a standard
Alot of those sellers on Ebay (Besides Chef and Big_D here) have many angry customers....Ive heard so much crap that has happened with them its unbelievable how some arent being sued..Well the reason I ask is because if you look up ssfc on ebay they are selling them for about what I would...but they suck out loud. I just didn't want to sell myself short.
But I see what you mean.
So I'll be placing an ebay order soon. 38g, 40g, 46g, 0.4mm and spool tamers.
I was looking for a goon clone to toss in there and I found this:
They basically sat a goon clone on a tank. I want one but I don't want to wait a month for a turd. Any one know anything about it or if I should get one?
My petri rta clone from 3f is jankey so it's totally possible to get a bunk clone.
It's encouragement for meNot sure if anyone here knows much about this RDA, its a rare gem known as the Reload RDA. bLAH bLAH Blah new sponsor Blah Blah bLAH...Im sure you guys are getting sick of hearing it so I wont fill it all in...
Spaced Aliens Caged with Vertabraid...I am no braider...
Simply put I found a way to keep all the cores tight. After that there's really no limit to core count.Wow...If I didnt know better...I would think it was one of my older pics for the red G2
Nice and clean too! Well done bro!!
15-20 strands of 32, Loop and glue. Use a Ribbon Slider or Drawstring squeezy thing for support. Use 22g decore and just let it wrap itself, make sure to stretch it to the width you want before wrapping it and wrap with barely any tension.Any advice you have for the multiple core alien would be appreciated.
I'm going to go for a 3x 26g sized one I think using a 24g decore.
Here's what I'm thinking:
Lay out 32g till I'm the right width and glue them. Repeat that a few times and stack them till I'm the right thickness.
Glue both ends good and twist around the swivel. Sound right? I skipped the various binding I'll use. Seems like a given.
I bet they suck up the juice and light up fast.
Ok, that makes sense. The reason I said 24g is because I've used 22g before and ended up with hollow sides on a 4x 28g.15-20 strands of 32, Loop and glue. I had some singer sewing oil laying around so I use that. I use a syringe to get between the seal and ring.So it took almost two weeks but I finally got my Spin LT, and they threw in a free matching black cord lock for holding the cores... I havent really put it to a good test yet but I am impressed with the quality even if its a tad over-priced. Do you guys recommend any disassembly and lubrication before I really cut into it? And if so what should I use?
If the bearing spins freely then your good to go, just makes sure its perfectly lined up to your drill chuck. So it took almost two weeks but I finally got my Spin LT, and they threw in a free matching black cord lock for holding the cores... Wtf how
Yes. I bind 4" in a few spots and double it over the swivel. Then hold it flat with pliers and twist the swivel.Wtf how
The method used showed for the 4 core?
Just making sure you weren't holding out! I need all the help I can getYes. I bind 4" in a few spots and double it over the swivel. Then hold it flat with pliers and twist the swivel.
You can also use less by binding and bending the last 1.5" or so over the swivel so they are sitting side by side or over top and bind them together.
It looks good. If you use the clip method for spacing they should be identical spaces. If you go slow enough you should be able to hit every one square.Just making sure you weren't holding out! I need all the help I can getjanky
The frame got messed up during the whole "how do I stagger ribbon" debacle. But I didn't feel like making more. I have a new clip that is on point. Had to drive 30 minutes to the closest town for diapers. My buddy wants some coils so gonna build him something then build me moreIt looks good. That depends on what you posted and where..there are a few on the forum that are "entertainers"...just roll with the punches bud. Growing with the forum slowly and building a reputation will help you in the long run but dont expect everyone to treat you decently, trolls are every where and its a Saturday nightWow I think I made a mistake in my assumptions about this forum by all the positive vibes in this thread... I try posting something I thought was important in another part of the forums and just get mocked

Yea I just went through the thread...dont let it get to you, its good that you shared the info as lurkers will see it and research it themselves, the ones that post against it are just posting to post...impulsive with no real thought but to entertain others. Ive never really thought about it myself but I am curious to find where Cotton Bacon gets their cotton.I brought up the fact that a lot of Japanese cotton is grown in Fukushima prefecture.... I'll let you guys fill in the gaps

If you're using a coilmaster v4 (recommended) you'll almost always loose that first wrap. I immobilize the wrap on both ends with glue (so the clapton doesn't move), stick the wire in the slot holding it with my thumb and make one full turn pushing the wire with my thumb other thumb. Then I keep my thumb on that wrap and start turning the jig.Well Raymo thank you for the tips... spun these tensioned AF and they coiled stupid easy I was getting so frustrated with staples. 8 ply .4K/36N80 3mm ID. Now I just have to practice getting the first wrap of the coil to stop bending outward.View attachment 68779
You need one for staples. Either that or bite one end in a vice. It needs to be tight the whole time and your wrists don't swivel. If it's not tight the cores can fold over in the wrap or the whole thing can flop over.Thats one tool I havent picked up yet, I still coil freehand around drill bits holding the wire and bit in one hand and wrapping with the other.
The fire will clean it! Get it glowing and dunk that sucker! I heat treated my cutters after I sharpened them. I saw those rdta versions and wasn't sold. I love my azeroth too much.http://m.ebay.com/itm?itemId=152345654358&varId=451573945787
I'm getting my monies tomorrow. Can anyone see a reason not to get one? I know the clamps aren't plated but neither are any of my other attys.
I'd like to disassemble and heat treat it.
Does anyone know the specifics of doing this? I'd imagine you'd clean the piss out of it, heat the desired areas and quench it so it doesn't loose it's anti corrosive properties but I don't know for sure.
Looks like it's the same design as the original avocados, gotta pull your wick tail to fill it, that will get old quick if that's the case. I love my avocados, amazing flavor and great clouds but I can drain the tank in 20 minutes so they only get used when I'm being lazy and lounging in my reclinerhttp://m.ebay.com/itm?itemId=152345654358&varId=451573945787
