pretty sure he meant 28g lol. I just learned a very important lesson using 40g for the 2nd or so time. Made a 10'' stick of 8 ply .3R 28g framed alien, went to wrap the first coil and applied to much pressure causing all the wraps to slide down. Gotta pull just the end when wrapping. GG rekt.
I unwound it and started messing with it more to try and see what not to do lol, I didn't have this happen on the first 40g fralien I made. Oh well try again another day.

Ahh I see now, for some reason I thought the core of your alien stag was only ribbon with an alien wrap over it, but I see at least from that pic its framed ribbon. Was wondering about just a plain staple coil with an alien wrap over it, if it was possible. Only because I've never vaped just a staple without frames yet. I think if I do decide to make one now it will be inspired by your staggertons with ribbon frames. Once I get the hang of regular staggertons that is (mainly para-Clapton on ribbon). Just got some .3R and a good supply of 38g to practice. Might go for an 8ply fralien to start, never been able to go past 6 ply before with my .4R due to ohm-ing out so low on dual coil. I do have a DNA250 but haven't pushed anything below .1 That is a great idea though I may practice spaced aliens with a round wire core because I do eventually want to build up to that amazing looking/vaping alien stag!

I stopped trying with a all ribbon core, the ribbon seems to always slant which makes it coil funky....

Lol 8g in a 250mm+ sized Mason RDA, then how do you power it? A car battery, or AC from the wall. I'd just set it on a desk and put a hooka hose to it haha. Made another 6''- 7'' of the same fralien, but afraid to wrap it just yet. At least I'm getting practice with the .3R

Got my 40g fraliens wrapped, learned you gotta pull just the ends or the wraps will slide around/off . Also rewicking my tsunami 22 and noticed the coils still had some color so took a pic. Fralien: 28g KA1 frames x 8 ply .3R KA1 core x 40g N80 wrap. My 2nd SSFC I made and first one I actually used: 28g KA1 frames x 6 ply .4R KA1 x 36g N80.

I have been so tied up lately I haven't had time to sit and tinker with that 40g kd or anything else really.... and it sucks. My weekend business has really picked up and stupid me keeps taking on more complicated jobs that eat up time lol. I've been burning coils up til their toast! Here lately in my tiny bit of free time I've been enjoying taking notes and pictures of things to review. I won a couple of giveaways and said "what the hell". I love testing shit and fiddling around with them! Anyways, sorry for the rambling. Just haven't posted here in a while

Finally got some time to build this morning! Did some FS 28n80, 6ply.4, 40n80 Mini Fralien 28n80, 4ply .4, 36n80 and couldnt quite get into my 1st grooves 26/36, 4ply.4, 28a1 wrapped in 40n80

Thanks I think they are coming around. I've been building for almost 3 months now and because my time at the bench is limited I thought I should get it set up. Its the sherman tank! 1st rta that i really love (havent gotten my hands on a modfather yet).

Yeah have noticed that great to bounce off others when youre still learning the ropes and likewise got so many good tips from you and others in this thread it's great... glad machine talked me into posting my earlier work on here now feels like ages ago I couldnt even knock out a decent pair of claptons lol (was actually about 2 months back I think) but feel I've come along pretty quick haven't had any bench time last week (work etc) need to have some time again planned in soon maybe next weekend

Smaller gauges are easier to work with, up to a point. They ramp up faster, and give you more surface area. I like 26-28 for cores, and 36-38 for wrap. I haven't tried anything smaller, yet.

Here's some Quad~core Aliens in the TM24.
•4x28g//38g Atomizerwick N80•

Love the vape off these quad~cores, a tad warmer than traditional aliens, along with a touch better flavor i think. Not a much different than building regular aliens, i used 24g for my de~core.
For those curious about my construction techniques, using a candle to warm it up, i hold the cores flat and put a dab of hot glue on each end. I put enough so i can crank down the drill chuck without moving the cores, and i leave about an inch of cores sticking out on the far end (behind the glue) to fix them to my Spin LT.

That was my gear for 10 days haha. I brought more than i'd need because i knew that rewicking on the road is annoying, so i just rotated em every couple days

Its the Mterk RDA Mterk sent me....he liked the polish so much hes sending me another RDA to polish for himself and I told me to send me juice to cover for it...his juice is pretty damn expensive but hes sending 5 120ml's of it....works for me
