Doh, just bought a 10ft roll of 22g from work for decoring lol. I figured it might've been a smaller decore for the fuse because it always looks a bit more stretched. It's kool I'll save it for other things like 26g fused snake spine.
I got some Coil Society ribbon coming and more 38g and 40g from them as well. Anyone tried them?
Also how can you watch IG livestreams without the app, I tried googling but can't really find an answer. Would like to get notifications when raymo does his so I can finally catch one.

You can watch them over PC if you download the app via Microsoft store or whatever platforms app store your pc has but not through a browser since the "Stories" dont show with the browser.

I've used their ribbon, and it's not bad. Always comes off the spool straight. Their higher gauge wires are a crap shoot though - the milling sucks. About the same as Lightning Vapes wire.

2 26g nicrome 80 strands and a kanthal a1 .5x.1 ribbon twisted. 4mm wrap 8 wraps ohming out at 0.24ohms at room temp.

I keep trying different things to keep it stacked and it just wants to pull away from each other and not stay. When i try staples, framed, ssfc, same keeps happening

Use VG, stack it then hold the stack on one end to make an arch with the stack. It'll pretty much line up and stay together after that. I rarely use it but when I do I treat it like 0.4mm

0.3 is a royal PITA I agree with you mate hated using it last time managed to make a decent pair of staples with it but it's really difficult to work with

Yea ... Im a cnc machinist.. I deal with frustrating shit everyday making airplane parts with less han .002 tolerance bbut not even that pisses me off as much as making COILS ... Great time

Cause it's so annoying starting again when you screw up lol ...I had to walk away from builds before cause I was so pissed off especially if you spent ages building up to the final stage and it goes tits up when you go to coil it....that shit really takes the cake!

Fused claptons FTW in those situations lol

Lmao yep. Just spent 2 hours making sure my stagger was perfect and my stacked ribbon was perfect.. 3 seconds into wrapping it and i rip it out and throw it away

First ever self made Clapton attempt. Single Coil Dual Fused Clapton 20 gauge / 30 gauge kanthal. 5 wraps. Did it by hand... Imagine it would have been way easier with proper equipment.

0.15 ohms. Hits well at 60watts, which is lower than I had expected.

I have to leave the top airflow open, because not enough air gets in from underneath. I wrapped it around a 3.5mm jig, but it's definitely wider. Next time I'll drop down a size since it is difficult to wrap tight.

I'm not up to 3 core yet, but here's my first attempt at fused claptons. 2x26g cores and 32g wrap of Nichrome 80. 2.5mm inner diameter. Ohms out at .14 after pulsing and getting rid of hot spots. I don't have nylon tipped pliers yet so i did my best to straighten it out with nylon tweezers and the toothless portion of my needle-nose pliers. I picked up a Buddha v2 because I wanted a larger deck to build on. Any and all criticism/advice welcome!

Much better than my 1st fc build! Dont be afraid of using a higher guage wrap tho. Faster ramp up and better flavor with 36g or higher. Its a big rda so an extra wrap woulda helped decrease the leg length. Sometimes long legs can give the vape a metallic flavor in my experience. Keep spinning and youll advance quick!

Agree with dusty about gauges here 24/34 26/36 good place to start with fused claptons

Also to close the gaps up both at the claw and vaping student try to keep the wrap at 90 degree Angle as you go. It doesn't need a lead, let it move itself as it wraps, you don't need to push it along (just maintain that angle) and go warp speed on the drill after the first inch or so (once you get in the groove) ....keep the tension on the drill and focus on that angle ...allow the spool to move fairly freely with a little resistence so it keeps the core wire straight as you wrap avoids it backing up on itself then :)

Great job though guys once you master this one it's makes everything else after it a little easier :)

Got my Coil Society wire yesterday, and so far its great! Much better than lightning vapes for not too much more in price. I finally have some 38g that doesn't snap when stretching for aliens (freakin atomizer wicks lol)! Tested it out and am starting to practice stagger builds with 40g now instead of 38g. Will be trying the enigma again soon. 28g N80 framed, .8x.3KA1 R, 2x 38G 316L interlock fralien. 26g N80 framed, .8x.4KA1 R, 3x 40G N80 SSFC.

Second build ever attempted. 24g 10 wraps 4mm beast , good clouds decent flavor. Ramp up is a little delayed but not too bad. Clocked at .3 . Anyone have any other builds I can do with 24g one the Dropbox 160 regulated mod?

nice work everyone <3 im a few pages behind and a month since i built anything (again). always nice to come catch up on this thread and see some new faces and first attempts. also the double framed alien staggs, 40g aliens, hybrids and crazy stagg variations...you guys are killing it :cheers:

i have nothing to show for myself. im in the middle of finding/moving to a new place on very short notice. hopefully mid next week ill be settled into somewhere and building again...

nothing all the hat fancy, dual parallel claptons. 2 26g kanthal wrapped with 36g nichrome 3mm ID. It's going into my TFV8. Out of all my RTAs I always wind up going back to this one. It's a solid tank, easy to wick, it has good flavor and great vapor production.

I have the dripbox 160 too, another decent. Build I found with 24g is 8 wraps spaced with a 3.5mm ID. An easy way that I make spaced coils is to just wrap around your screwdriver with maybe 1/4inch spaces between wraps then once u put the last wrap on and even out the leads I just use my fingers to push all the wraps together against the base of the screwdriver and then I let go of the coil and the wraps just spring back out with even spaces in them. Hope this helps

Just rebuild the simple coils with a smaller ID. if you have to wait for something to heat you're draining you batteries and heating the atty. Plus 4mm ID looks way too big for that atty. I'd do 3mm.
