Sure, but aiming for the best vape (although pretty much equally subjective) and keeping it just simple enough to satisfy that goal while still being able to show them off is far less boring IMO than merely showing off the kind of added complexity the sole purpose of which is to show it off.
I concede to the fact that you have a very good point.:)

been wanting to build, but not really feeling it lately. decided to try a little pitchfork because i never tried them before. was going to be with the arrows pointing in/bare middle. got about half way through and my frames slipped out  was going pretty fast and everything felt like it was working. in total 10 x .2/32/40 with 42 as the final pass. cant see anything/praying to the gods for guidance. looks like my final fuse pass went into the correct spots at least :p i think ill be able to unwrap the last pass of fuse and try again (with better prep apparently), but not tonight lol

Man I've watched Mind Forge's tutorial for the pitchfork build and it seems like a super labor intensive build. That and your staggering really needs to be perfect if you're going to get the build done anytime within 24 hours haha. It's one of those builds that peaks my curiosity but makes me wonder if I'll ever set aside that much time to actually make the build. It's a hard build, but on top of that it is super tedious, and I don't know that it has any advantage at all other than looking cool, but when it's done correctly it does look completely bad ass. It's true coil porn material. I could imagine a pitchfork build with your coloring skills omg it would be such a work of art. I'm rooting for you over here. I know you can do it!

Ah ok. Yea I'd rather have a tiny pod for mtl. These would be great for it but I work hard labor and know I'd fuck it up in my pocket. I like to keep a pod in my pocket so I don't have to go back to the truck often

Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
I can't do the pods man. I'm spoiled by the juice I get and the flavor I get from my own builds. I could never vape a pod system. Not that I'm criticizing you in any way nor do I think pods are bad for vaping. I think anything that keeps people off the stinkys is great. I wish I could be satisfied by a closed pod system it would be so much less of a hassle. Then again I have a certain passion for building that will never go away. I suppose it doesn't have to be one or the other but I've yet to taste a pod that I've liked.

Holy shit, first pitchfork with .2, 40 and 42 :eek::eek::sad:

I'm scared of pitchforks, even just skip fusing, because I know me - instead of taking a break when I get tired, I'll try full speed and then...well, disappointment, sadness, rainy soul miasma, etc

I'm super stoked you posted!!!!:xD:

Because sometimes people just want single core claptons :teehee:

30SS/46 - just a test to make sure it would coil without the clapton sliding off

Screenshot_20180618-091955-810x1440.png

And I still have to hot glue the ends because it's impossible to get 46 to bite into the core and stay put

Build some 3 and 4 Core Aliens for Every Weekend, 12 hours Friday-Sunday, Making 300-400 Pairs, for 8 Months....Then you'll also feel aliens are boring from there on out :D:D MY body cringes at the thought of making them again...It almost killed my enthusiasm for building in general but Im kinda glad things went south like they did, cant imagine how M.Terk or Chef goes on....unless I was building something different every time I think Id hang myself with 18g...

I like building and sharing things that challenge me, in school I never felt challenged. I never did my homework or paid attention but somehow I absorbed the information and aced tests...it was the only reason I graduated and went to tech school. Now that Im out of school and found youtube/instructables.com, I have tried to learn as much about everything and anything I could for the past decade...I feel motivated to "conquer" what I jump into, get as good as I can and then seem to phase into something else, building hasnt been like that and I really would like to keep interest invested into it....plus Im still not on top yet...

...and as many of you may have forgotten, Im still a dick ;)
Yeah but nobody is forcing you to build 300-400 pairs of aliens. :giggle: So far I have only built 2 single coil and 1 pair of 3-core aliens, and had only 2 failed attemps because I did do my homework about aliens and I did pay attention at the time when I was being shown the easiest way to build them. :p

yeah that was really holding me back on trying it too. i am pretty strapped for time/energy lately (when i have the time, i have no energy to make use of it), but i dont 'need' any builds, so this was just for kicks (even harder to set aside time for lately). i think it will be a good vape though. a framed staple is a good vape, this is just one with exposed cores, so it should just ramp up a little faster i think...
Holy shit, first pitchfork with .2, 40 and 42
i sent in my application for first officer/cabin boy, and i need to try to impress the captain with a tough build :D

yeah i didnt have the energy to power through this whole build. i stacked my ribbon stacks and spaced/claptoned the frame, then took a breather for a while, skip fused teh first pass of ribbon to the frame, took a break etc...but i find if things are lining up, i can go as fast as i want. it feels easier going fast in some ways. only problem for this one (for me at least) is that i can only see if its working with the goggles on max magnification, which puts my face like 3 inches from the wire, and i cant actually work like that...so i am just checking to see if it looks good, then i go as fast as i can. in this case it collapsed and i didnt notice until i finished and put the goggles back on. usually its 'good' at least, but this one was a fail.
Sweet mother of mary I did it! 46g staggerton with some extra ribbon in the frame

I love how you can run framed staples at just about any wattage they are so versatile and the basis for what I consider to be the best vapes you can get. Really nice coils man. 2 HUNDO! :confetti:

I can imagine when you clapton with 46 gauge (a regular clapton) it would slippity slide all over the place cause the wire is so thin. I think its as thin as hair. I bought some 44g at my local B&M I was goin for 46 but 44g was the highest they had. We'll see if my big stupid hands can handle it.:eek::eek:

I think that's a great price. I need to get something similar. Right now I've just been using zoom on my Iphone and it does work, but I have to make sure to hold the camera extra still I usually get blurry photos on the first few attempts its a pain in the arse.:stars:

Great stuff per usual ladies and gents! I finally invested in some new gadgets. Bought a corded drill, some legit swivels, and a revolver bearing thingy lol. Vape mail anticipation begins. Trying to aim all of this to be ready for my one week stay-cation coming up soon. I’m considering ordering another set of clamps too, so far they have worked like a charm. Raymo did a great job with a simple and effective design imo. I hope to have some sick builds to show off in the future! I can’t wait to keep improving my knowledge and skills. A big thank you to all of you here, such a helpful group on this forum. For now here is some of my last couple cloud blasters! Cheers all!

PPS 60 watts at 10% battery this mod loves me
That's a flavor house coil. Imo fraliens, and 4or more core aliens are hands down the best vape. I was having problems alien wrapping wire 42g, it's pretty hard at first. I finally settled on 40, and after you find your rythem, it's amazing.

I'm guilty of trying to cut corners after I'm comfortable and while it works, I should just stick to doing it the right way. Because the second I start fucking stacks up, I throw the game and fuck myself into stopping for the day. And that inturn makes the next start up harder because I remember how pissed I got.

Umm.... Has any one ever got so mad that you took your scissors and cut a 2 foot section like Edward fucking scissors hands???

Great builds man!! Spot on with coloring!

Ill share my own, these is the build from the wireporn shots a few days ago.
28g Frames + 6PLY .3R, 2 x 4PLY .3R/46g Staples, 42g Stagger and Fuse.

This is about the average amount of images I do per build. The furthest zoomed out pictures are around 30 pictures stack, the macros are around 60-70 stacked, and the super macros are between 90-130 pictures stacked. Roughly about an hour and a half of shooting, with a half hour of just stacking those images. Every image is then meticulously edited, I recently put in my Instagram story how I actually accomplish my editing and many people were shocked. Hours and hours of time just into the editing.

Im not trying to brag but alot of people think its just a small hobby type thing and people just get free shit when they're sponsored, that may be true for some people but I think I put more time into building, shooting/stacking, editing than I put into my real job....and I do it because I love it and I like seeing the feedback. You guys are worth my time, we share common ground and a love for working with our hands, I have yet to meet a "real" builder that isnt into progressing and fine tuning their work. Thank you everyone for being invested.

Thanks @Shredtravolta and @raymo2u!

Such positive feedback means the world to me. It gives me a great feeling to know my time and effort is justified. I’m not in this for the fame or fortune, just the satisfaction of creating and learning constantly. Nothing beats the feeling of going to the local B&M and helping people learn about building, showing progress/build, and just educating etc. The vape community is what makes this hobby great imo. Granted the community has our share of turds and trolls, overall this is hands down a great collective.

I haven’t even dabbled at the thought of actual photo equipment. Not sure if that’s worth the investment yet, seeing as I know absolute crap about photography, but I do enjoy sharing my work/progression. I just know from close friends, it’s a crazy amount of time, money, and passion that is required.

Also, the work people like you @raymo2u put in, does not go unnoticed or unappreciated. You are one of the people, that give people like me, something to work towards. You sir, are one of the legends in this game, hands down. I can’t imagine the amount of time and money you’ve invested, passion or not. Any and all perks along the way, I’m sure you’ve more then earned. Cheers!

Thanks!! I enjoy trying new and different (to me) things! I try to build coils that I can actually vape and enjoy, all while looking cool Hahaha. It’s hard to balance, I can’t count how many times I’ve had dual coils come to .05 etc....I somehow always miss calculate when mixing wire types. Doesn’t help I mostly use .4 ribbon. I imagine as I get better with .3 ribbon, that will all be easier to balance.

LOL!!! I’ve had my share of rage while learning. Nothing’s worse then chucking a wire roll across a room, to realize....damn I still needed that!!!

Rage is when you've fused half of your build you've spent almost 2 hours on and its been dead silent the entire time....then a kid runs into the room, screams, and you get jump scared...dropping your fusing spool on the floor and all the wire unspooling....then when quickly getting up out of the chair your shoe somehow catches the fuse wire, breaks clean off the wire but at the same time also pulls your drill of the table and slams the half finished wire on the ground, bending into a right angle with frayed fusing. :D:D Trust me, your heart sinks, your brain melts, and your soul dies :mad::(

This is why I dont livestream when kids are home

I'm in a garage and right next to a 60 gallon air compressor, surprise garage door openings and the compressor kicking on because someone forgot to turn it off have had me almost fall out of my chair lol

I always check and turn the compressor off, now

I'm going to vape nichrome wrap today, I have a theory that it won't hurt my throat if just the wrap wire is nichrome...wish me luck

Cause this build tastes awesome (built it last week, wicked it today)

I'm in a garage and right next to a 60 gallon air compressor, surprise garage door openings and the compressor kicking on because someone forgot to turn it off have had me almost fall out of my chair lol

I always check and turn the compressor off, now

I'm going to vape nichrome wrap today, I have a theory that it won't hurt my throat if just the wrap wire is nichrome...wish me luck

Cause this build tastes awesome (built it last week, wicked it today)

As a father I find what you just wrote hilarious.:giggle: I hate it when my wife runs the stupid robot vacuum that works its way into my mancave while I'm concentrating and not paying attention and eats up my decore. Do you have youtube videos Raymo? How can I watch your livestreams?

I may end up having to build in a literal barn when I move in a couple of weeks - we'll actually use the garage for Cars then, and the house is smaller, oh dear gonna be making staples with mittens and earmuffs on this winter

LOL "A ROOMBA ATE MY DECORE" that cracks me up, I feel your pain but I gotta laugh lol

Meg seriously my ROOMBA has sucked up more decores than actual dirt on my new carpet its insanity. I get so in the zone I don't hear the damn thing come in. You have no idea how close I have come to smashing that thing and then I just think to myself, I bought it as a present for my wife, I can't hurt it, and my blood pressure returns to normal.:giggle:

Lmao yea same thing with the air compressor here. Or when I’m outside, mosquito bites (Florida summer). Now I fuse inside but I don’t have room to lay out my wrap wire nice and straight :(

Lmao picturing the robot eating decore.
And I’m imagining you encouraging your kids, having seen how you build people up with your comments, you must make them feel like a million bucks. :) thumbs up

I use one of these, a 4x8 foot piece of corrugated plastic (Coroplast from Home Depot) laid on the floor behind me as I apply the decore:

This is a really rough drawing, but shows how I can use 20+ feet of decore without it tangling up on me.

Thanks brother. Yeah my family means the world to me. I believe a big part of how a young person begins to assimilate with society is based on how their parents treat them. It's a somewhat private thing that I only talk about in detail with certain people but I do love my family very very much.

Yesterday I got some time to get some practice in after doing some Alien Framed Staples

Alien Framed Staple Rods
IMG-20180618-WA0086.jpg
6ply 0.3, Framed in 30g and Aliened with 36g. 3mm ID, All NI80. 0.13 ohms a pair. Works nicely between 120-150w
IMG-20180618-WA0131.jpg
Stitched Alien Framed Staple: 6ply 0.3, Framed in 30g Aliened with 36g and stitched with 40g. 3mm ID. NI80
IMG-20180619-WA0051.jpg
Better shot of the Alien Framed Staple and Stitched Alien Framed Staple
IMG-20180619-WA0062.jpg
2nd Attempt and first success with the Tsuka Framed Staple. 6 ply 0.4, Framed in 28g and wrapped in 0.3 ribbon. 3mm ID. NI80
IMG-20180619-WA0072.jpg

Stitched got to my head so I went and did a 20ply 0.4, 26g Framed, 36g wrapped Framed Staple that is obscenely too much...
IMG-20180619-WA0094.jpg
Didn't like how the 36g wrap came out so to convince myself that I'm a build machine I went and did a pair of 22ply 0.4, Framed in 26g and wrapped in 40g....which is also "too much"

40g, 22ply Framed Staples by themselves
