Yesterday I got some time to get some practice in after doing some Alien Framed Staples

Alien Framed Staple Rods

Stitched got to my head so I went and did a 20ply 0.4, 26g Framed, 36g wrapped Framed Staple that is obscenely too much...

Didn't like how the 36g wrap came out so to convince myself that I'm a build machine I went and did a pair of 22ply 0.4, Framed in 26g and wrapped in 40g....which is also "too much"

Epic build day I’d say! I’d be well happy if I could knock that many coils out in one sitting great job

For the tsuka, do you twist the ribbon or decore it? Nice coils for sure

I can't do the pods man. I'm spoiled by the juice I get and the flavor I get from my own builds. I could never vape a pod system. Not that I'm criticizing you in any way nor do I think pods are bad for vaping. I think anything that keeps people off the stinkys is great. I wish I could be satisfied by a closed pod system it would be so much less of a hassle. Then again I have a certain passion for building that will never go away. I suppose it doesn't have to be one or the other but I've yet to taste a pod that I've liked.
I don't like it, either. But since i use minifit, i love it. Flavorful imo

Twist for the Tsuka. You want to line the core up with the twisted ribbon putting one twist in the center and having two flat portions on either side. You decore if you're going to make Tsuka Aliens. I tried one(Not the Alien) in a Zeus tonight. Performed wonderfully at 75w. Was a strong performer so I shall be making more.

I'm going through coil build withdrawals. Seriously craving it.
I haven't had time to build since whenever the last one I posted was.. been driving me crazy too lol work has been insane though and on the rare occasion I'm actually home and not sleeping on the road, I'm too tired :/ maybe this weekend. currently rocking what I assume is a 316L 4*28/40-something alien I found in this plastic baggie marked "flawed aliens" or something.. I'm digging it.. i miss using 316L

Got a clip on macro lense for my phone, and made a fralien. Alien fused it really slowly because I overstretched the first decore and didn’t wanna ruin my ribbon stack. I should go slower from now on, way easier when I can see the decore rolling onto the cores.

You can technically do it two different ways. Ndevine83 has a great video on Tsukas if your interested in building them. They are not for me vape wise but they do look very cool. I've only made one pair in my life. I'll post them when I get home.

My new drill showed up yesterday , and yeah....back to training wheels for me. I didn’t realize how big of a difference the top speed actually can be. I have a huge increase of respect for the people I see rippling fancy coils at high RPMs lol!!!

On a similar note, this drill does several revolutions after the trigger is released. So do all corded drills do that, or did I make a mistake grabbing a Milwaukee (it was on sale lol)?

I did the staggering with the new drill, but chickened out when fusing these.

Also I don’t have a rumba to bother me in the basement, also the wife and kids let me be during my build time...but this girl right here hahaha. I find my self playing fetch during builds a lot lol.

Awesome coils, pretty dog :)
Corded drills keep spinning, my Hitachi does anyway, and DeWalt I tried, but I think it's helpful once you're used to it

Time to get some very high gauge and take advantage of the high rpm? :D

I make vape stands, or I should say woodworking in general. That’s and old stand I no longer use, it has a front row for 6 tanks and a large-ish platform to set mods on. I just like the wood grain look also lol. So it has s new purpose in life!

Got some 30g in the mail today yay! Made my first six core alien, I’m practicing my alien wrap lately. After a few failures I decided to really take my time and leave my ribbon alone for risky builds lol that stuff is precious.

All corded drill or at least the vast majority spin a little after you release the trigger. The high rpm life is no big deal once you're used to it. I Alien at 2500rpms and wish my drill could go faster. The issue I run into at those speeds is wire vibrations. Most times I only see a shadow of the core I'm wrapping and just use "dah force" to feel if the Alien is going down right. With most things in coil building...enough practice can make you do wonders.

The coil you sent me is a great vape!!!

I'm happy, but bummed because now I have to consider getting larger ribbon, and smaller coil ID than usual
Lol, I told you there is a method to my madness!! I had a feeling you would like it. I've found that a 2.5 ID gives me the best most flavorful vape and .5 gives the ribbon wire that extra little bit of space for liquids to accumulate and vaporize off that flat smooth surface which forms a taste I can't go without! I'm just really glad you liked the coil. If you ever want another one you just let me know. It's always on the house.

BTW I need to up my skip fusing game, if you know any tips or tutorials I'm all ears/eyes

Really awesome dogs! Really awesome coils! I've gotten the feeling that skip fusing is one of your things. I personally need to up my skip fusing game. Any advice would be appreciated.:) But seriously you're coils always look great you're super talented @Branpro, thanks for showing us your builds and giving the rest of us ideas as to how we can up our games!

Thanks shred, appreciate the kind feedback once again! What seems to work for me are some general rules of thumb I go by. Staggering and prep have to be spot on, or I don’t even attempt skipping fuses. I noticed if I’m not skipping fusing and going full, mistakes can be forgiven and the fuse kind of forces itself into place etc. I haven’t attempted skip fusing fine gauge with anything more then my cordless B&D, only runs like 8-900 rpms full blast. As long as my prep and stagger is spot on, it’s all about the pitch/angle you hold the fuse at. All a feel/rhythm thing at that point, like alien decor. Also, for me personally, if I’m skip fusing any gauge smaller then 38, my blind ass is using my hand drill. (Still need to buy a head magnifying thingy). Granted that route is like training wheels mode for most people, I don’t build mass amount of coils etc. I build for fun not production purposes, so I’m in no hurry. So in a nutshell, I go slow and steady with a redundant amount of prep, nothing fancy. Perhaps somebody that uses a faster set up, can provide tips also. I have a feeling it’s nothing more then perfecting that “feel” again, just fast af. I’m currently working on getting better with my new corded drill. Went from 800 to 2800 rpms. It has me feeling like those people that buy a Ferrari and crash leaving the dealer ship hahaha!

If you get everything centered and equal, Everything, center of chuck, center of swivel, drill and swivel ends exactly equal in height, drill and swivel equal distance from edge of table, equal tension on every part of the stick, and pretty solid tension from chuck to swivel because if your stick sags, it's gonna be very difficult because the more it sags, the more you have to be precise with your spool tension and angle and keep changing it to match with the sag, then it's just practice and learning the angle and tension

For my last staggerton I used my Hitachi and went fast, paused a few times at first to look at it closely, then just went on because I could see everything was set up right

A ruler line can help lining up the drill and swivel, if your line is straight to begin with anyway lol

It might be overkill on my part, I dunno, I also bind and hot glue both ends of every stick I make lol

wtf are u doing vaping that ish. I had a diy recipe (my rf sc variant of GOC custard, no sweetener) that gunked my coils faster than normal and I dumped that ish down the drain.

It was free, waste not want not :) I changed my mind about gunk, it wasnt that - this coil acts oddly, gets dark in one spot where juice bubbles first

Ish :teehee:

Vape it!
Unless you’re like me, searching for a reason to toss a new build in, hahaha. I replace coils just to do it, for any reason I can convince myself....just because. I know I’m not the only builder with that problem(Or so I tel myself lol)!

I used to be like that all the time, but I've been leaving the staples alone, they're gooooood vapes.

I’m the exact same way haha. Sometimes I just take a wrap off so it feels like I built. I’m a little better with fraliens because all that ribbon is hard to throw away!

nah man, very rarely do I clean my coils.. unless it happens to be special in some way I just use it for a week or so, toss it (or gift it) and throw another in lol

in an unrelated story, my gr1 is out of commission and I cant for the life of me find another rda in my stash that i can really enjoy after using that one for so long :/ hopefully gas mods can come up with some help soon, I'd hate to have to outright buy another (though tbh, I probably would lol)

I was wondering about that rda, the descriptions say 1mm terminals. As in 1mm wide for coils? So triple 28s max?

I found an old rda someone gave me that has a 510 pin that will fit, the gr1 js back up and working, looks like that was the issue.

I dont know exactly how wide they are, but I think I used 4*28g aliens with no problem (mightve been 5 I cant recall) Currently using 10 ply .4 ribbon, 28g frame SSFC. Coils that are too wide I just twist the legs a bit. I love the RDA it's all I've used since I got it a while back.
