Hi you guys? How you doing.

Need little help here :) (as always, lol)
I'm learning how to razorback. I did my first try yesterday and made a razorback mohawk with my decore , but still don't know cool thing to do with razorback, in what to use, etc.

Suggestions, please? :)

@zephyr @WPMac @CrazyChef v2.0 @Shredtravolta @raymo2u @The_hat_trix @mach1ne and everybody else i was unable to mention due to my memory issues

Any decore build can be done with razorback. Alien, Mohawk, Enigma, Hedgehog. And stitched versions of each.
You can also use a stick of razorbacks without decoring. You can stagger razorbacks and fuse between them. If you can get consistent spacing they look cool all on their own or as a staging wire or an inlay. One of my buds on IG groove fused a razorback onto a razorback.

Thanks WPMac.
One question: How can we stagger razorbacks? Loop method?
Other thing. I didn't try cause is so hard and expensive to import ribbon to Brazil (so im trying to learn some things before waste wire lol), but i wonder if i can make a interlock when razorbacking ribbon (like i do with enigmas using round wire)?

The grooved I guess was ProxOhms right? I saw that. f**ing amazing build :)

One question: How can we stagger razorbacks? Loop method?

I don't use loop to stagger anything. I find it wildly inconsistent for me..
I've tried 2 ways of staggering razors.
1) Force fuse a razor into 38g then remove the 38.
2) And the reverse. Run your razor 1/2 the length. Break it loose from the core. Then force fuse 38. Before removing the 38 glue the swivel end of the ribbon down. It is super springy and will just revert most of the way back to compressed if you don't affix it somehow at the loose end.

I have more success with #2. But your spacing has to be TIGHT on the initial razor.

There's a fad of interlocking ribbon atm. I've seen triple interlocks. Most of them are not doing it razorstyle though. I have seen 1 or 2 interlocking razorbacks. But I not tried it myself so I can't comment on what techniques work for me.

Yah man ... Proxo has been one of my favorite builders since I stumbled across him early last year.

Oh! Thanks WPMac. I don’t use loop method often either, usually i do parallel to stagger.

But with Razorback I was not sure how to do it. I’ll give it a try with your #2 method ;)

Thanks again man :)

Fresh set for the LiT. I've been spending a lot of time with this atty lately.

Thank you! But they are far from perfect.
I know that you are always your own worst critic, and this goes out to all of the builders out here. I have mad respect for you all. I don't have thewire to do anything best some basic 24g or at best 28g twisted ss coils atm. Even when I do, I'll be lucky to make anything more advanced than a fused clapton and that's pushing it LOL. Keep it up you all and NEVER doubt yourselves.

Let's keepon vaping

I actually think of it as one of my go-to attys when I'm building for my ADV. The honey-comb airlflow with 1 of the rows closed off is as perfect as it gets for my personal taste in restriction, and smoothness, for the +/- 100w range I use as my daily driver. It has above average flavor. The barrel is decently thick so it doesn't get flamin hot to terribly quick.

It does have some drawbacks.
-The massive hunk of metal that acts as the posts seriously restricts the size of coils you can put in it. The ones pictured above are 28g frames with 6 ply ribbon and they BARELY fit as a 3mm 4.5 wrap. Which for most people is probably enough.
-I hate installing on layercake style decks. And this one is worse because it doesn't bite down hard on the leads. If you fidget with them to much while installing the leads tend to pull out of the clamp. It's not like they just fall out while your vaping or anything. I've never had that problem.
-Constant dripper/Small juice capacity. The juice wells look deep enough ... Until you realize that the clamp takes up damn near 1/2 of the bottom of the atty. It's not nearly as bad as, say, a postless deck. But it's requires a little more attention than the avg atty.
-I've heard complaints about the insulators on the clmap breaking/melting ... But I've had mine for maybe 6 months(?), and have pushed 100+ watts through it regularly, Plus have pulsed high enough to color Kanthal on it a couple of time, and no problems with that.
-The drip tip is damn near impossible to get out. The red one mine came with isn't to terrible (still hard but not impossible). But every other tip I've tried, including the clear one it came with, I literally have to pull them off with pliers. I can't even push them out from the back side. The O-ring they have there is entirely to beefy. SO I put the clear one on and I just never take it off except to deep clean the atty once in a while.
-The only thing connecting the juice wells is a tiiiiiiny little hole (maybe 1/2mm?) where the squonk pin come up. So it's possible to flood one side and the other be under-juiced. Now this doesn't happen often since the top of the clamp has the bevel and the juice tends to automatically split to both sides while dripping. But it's something to be aware of.
Most of the drawbacks don't affect daily vaping. And the ones that do aren't deal-breakers for me.

As a functional atty it's one of my favs from my limited collection.

As a 'builders atty' it's way down my list. It sure ain't a pretty deck. It's miserable to install on. It's extremely limiting for coil size. It's hard as hell to photograph.

Wow. Thanks. Best review i read of it :)
Didn't got the time to test it. I'll give it a try later if i have time or during the weekend.
And, also, damn, lol. I was hoping i could fit some nice and beefy builds in it to take pics.

Thanks again man.

Best.

Still trying my razorbacks and kind of disappointed. Did a .2 SFC and looks nothing special - just like a 38g. I'll se how it vapes. Maybe i'll try .3 and see if i can manage a SSFC... Just figuring out...

UPDATE: Trying a .3 variation also (second image) For a SSFC think i'll need a better plan lol

UPDATE 2 - That .3 variation (thanks @WPMac for the hints on staggering ribbon. Need to improve my spacing, but... i'll get there)

Back to some basics ... mainly because the post holes on this RTA cant handle anything wider than ~.8mm and I wanted a ~.3 build in it.
Not super pleased with the flavor. Might try a 3 core 32g on the next one.
2x28/38 SS316L, 2mm ID, .31 ohms in the EHPRO Bachelor Nano.

Man you all have been killing it!! I haven’t posted in awhile, built a pc for xmas and I’ve been sucked into assassins creed odyssey ever since lol. Still building though, been sticking to 30g/.3r/40g framed staples lately as they’re quick and easy. Ugh I haven’t tried anything new in a while but I’ll always be a builder ;)

I haven't been able to build in a long time save for, round wire, twisted and parallel. I need wire and have been able to get any. All I have is 24 and 28g both ss316l and resistance id's to low to do anything else LOL

Sorry for my inactivity. I had to have the best friend I've ever had put to sleep on 27.12.18 and to be perfectly honest, helping myself has been most important at the minute. Hope you guys have been doing well and hope your new year was adventurous. Just a few quick shots of work I've done but not shared (as far as I remember anyway.)

I am so sorry to hear that. A few years ago I had to put down my Lab Ginny due to cancer. She was with me through bachelor life. She kept me company while I was unemployed. She suffered through 12 hour days at home alone while I worked construction. She was with me through the birth of my first child. She lived in 3 different states with me. It hurt like a SOB. I wish you well and remember your friend in life.

Sorry about the loss of your friend. This something my vet gave us when we had to put down our 17 year old cat.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Thank you for your kind words. That piece has me in pieces, in a good way I suppose. I know she's no longer in pain and that has to be where I get my strength from to carry on without her. 17 years is a great age for a cat, don't think any of our have made it to such an age. Through tears I thank you for your kindness.

Try the same specs but do 40g interlocks. A little more pop and sizzle but I feel like it brings out different notes on the flavor.

I dunno what it is about me but I don't like interlocks. I remember doing them... I'm a sole mech tube user... and they were just spitting hot death into my mouth and tongue. I tried different gauges, I tried regular aliens, I tried ribbon stacks, I always felt like a single tight alien binding that lays flat against the cotton did me better than interlocked anything. But I could be in the minority thinking that. I've heard both arguments from both sides, interlocking is nothing but a technique for coil porn, and I've heard interlocking does great thing to your vape. Personally it's not for me because by nature its not as tight and by nature it lifts the cores that much further from the cotton but I know a lot of people disagree with me. I think it's interesting that the same thing one builder loves is the thing another builder particularly dislikes. I guess that's the meaning of the word subjective.
