I need this in my life. How mutch are they?Just so you guys know, the Raymo Clamps are back! If you guys missed out last summer on them the time is now since @big_d_coils on instagram has helped me get a new batch. Contact him if your interested.
6 hours later i got 2 finish the clapton wire i started. LolGotta hate it when you dont pay attention to how long its been since i charged the drill. My old drill would start to run a lil slower. Had some warning. This drill runs strong rite till it cuts out.
That just happened to me. Frustrating but my own fault. Lol

Aliens are nothin but practice. Looks like you got the skill leanred now it's just putting it to work enough until you've got it down. Cause once you can do an alien then you have the skill to wrap it around anything. No real big difference between a 3 core and a framed staple core, that is if you've mastered framed staple prep. After 1 month of building i tried alien...wow i need to get this down , coz i want to get fraliens down. Ribbonlyfe
Anyway here is the first try. Out of 27 inches , i barely managed to get one coil with some blems out.
3 x 26. 26 decore. 36 wrap

Both are perfectly acceptable. Before I continue, I will happily admit decores are not my forte. But, I almost always pre-stretch. With enough practice you'll be able to pre-stretch and almost always get it right. Pre-stretching allows you to let go of the fuse mid fuse if you need to. Plus, if you decide to continue into lower and lower mass builds you will eventually have no choice but to pre-stretch or your cores will end up collapsing on you. But for your average vapable build either one is fine.Yes got fraples down , so its just about practice.
Whent all in on some 50% off kidney puncher offer , so should be here tomorrow.
What method is recommended to do the wrap? I tried nostretch method , but found prestretch more easy for me.
I guesd if i cen get the nostretch down , there will be less failure due to overstretch.

A box of awesomenessLittle braid action , with an sfc 5 x 28g for comparison.
And my wire order arrived. Even ordered more...

No need to be disappointed, that turned out gorgeous man. AmazingWas a fairly disappointing photo session. Just flat out could not get anything to cooperate. But I try to share almost everything I do. Everyone gets to see my best my worst and everything in between.
Color on the Mixed alloy SSFC. One with some fun editing

On another note ... Here's a super sloppy fused clapton capture I put together for fun. I'll probably do another run at this soon. It's a cool concept. I just need to flesh a few things out (include the rough fusing on the coils lol).

It's just a twist on a capture ... which is a techique in which you use wire to "capture" an unattached coil/stick. Traditionally you would coil the capture wire around your coil/stick for a few wraps on either side. I believe @Severinomotta recently posted one with some alien sticks. That's a really interesting concept, very original. Can't wait to see (if it even can be) the colors.

The bottom coil didn't fire in mine. I had to do a couple of trial and error attempts to get it looking like I wanted so I kinda mangled the coil ends and didn't get the extension wires nice and tight around it. The top coil fired perfectly though. Even, from the inside out, and with vry little spotting. So I know it will work ... just needs a little more finesse than it gave this time lmao.
Yes sir ... I'm Ni80 all the way. Some people find it metallic. But I find it much smoother than SS and crisper than KA1. The best advice anyone can get for any framed staple prep you ever do ... make it tight and clean. If your prep isn't right then your wrap isn't going to be right. A single loose ribbon ply can ruin you just like a loose round core in multi-core builds. There's a million tutorials on making a ribbon stack and framed staple core. And there's a plethora of information in the Official Building Directory (<-- Legit Link)I finally got my 26 and 28g n80 and am looking forward to making my first all n80 fused claptons. Will be ordering some some .4 ribbon next payday. Want to try my hand at a framed staple.

I've for a week and a half before I getpaid again, so I'll be checking all of these sources out. Thank you so much for this plethora of resources for me to watch and read. I do tons of research on most everything I do. Hell, I did 6 months of research before I even bought my first spools of wire. I enjoy vaping and have tons of fun with it, But I take my craft seriously also. I'll be posting pics of my attempts whether they be good or otherwise. I have a good support system here with you and all the amazing builders here, and I truly appreciate it. Honestly, I would never have build anything, but single wire coils if not for all the amazing people here.Yes sir ... I'm Ni80 all the way. Some people find it metallic. Specifically for framed staples ... There's a youtube vid from SquidDoode at the end of the first post, HERE, for stacking ribbon. I can't remember if he wets his fingers ... but if he doesn't you should. If your ok with text and pics, the 7th post in that thread is the one I learned to do framed staple prep from. You'll probably evolve your own little things about your prep. But that post is a SOLID base to work from. If you would rather a video then I'm 100% positive squid has one on his page. Squid and OhmBoyJosh (and the directory here) are the guys I learned most basic stuff from. Otherwise you can dig through nick's (n.devine83) stuff. If it's a fraple build he'll show you the prep too ... along with chit-chat with the chat and 20 mins of claptoning. He's a live builder and doesn't edit videos. Not a dig on him ... I don't mind his live sessions that much cause I know most people in the chat. But not the most user friendly place to dig for information. He is, however, doing a beginner and up progressive "coil class" series live every Tues Night (and saved on vods). I think they are maybe 4 weeks or so in to it. BlackCatWhiteFace also has some stuff you could sift through. Have to go back a ways in his VODs to find most of his building stuff.
And of course we are always here to help Good luck and keep us up to date on your progress!! May the wire gods be with you
Hey there bud! Slick build. Bet that thing chuffs out some serious fog.well, im a few pages behind right now, but im still lurking around. tons of great stuff in here lately. looks like some new blood, as well as some familiar faces being pretty active recently shoutout to @WPMac and @Shredtravolta it looks like you two are really holding it together in here with lots of great pics and tons of helpful/encouraging posts
the build gods sent me a goon 25 a week and a half ago to try to tempt a build out of me and it finally came tonight. heres some fraliens (8x.4n80/26n80/38ss316 3.5mm 4.5wrap .7 ohms) for my quad parallel box. im surprised how smooth it went, considering how little practice i have had lately. the build gods must have really wanted to see this one work out

i have no way to actually measure the vdrop, but i do notice quite a difference running the same builds on mods with increasing amounts of cells in parallel. if i take a little build i made for long battery life in something like a single cell mech squonker and put it on a dual parallel box, it feels way better, then if i put it on my ts (3 cells), its a little better, and then on the quad box (a brass sith v2) its even a little better still. its even more pronounced when you are using a low build thats actually pushing the cells a bit. its not super dramatic, but its very clear that there is more power hitting the coils/less vdrop. on that note though, i can also feel a slight difference between all my dual parallel mods, and i think thats just a matter of design/efficiency of the circuit, and there is little i could do to get them all equal.Hey there bud! Slick build. Bet that thing chuffs out some serious fog.
Hows the vdrop on your quad? I've been doing a lot of vaping on my dual parallels lately and I'm just not satisfied. A .08 (prefire) feels like a .2 and a .12 is almost like vaping a damn MTL coil. I Just can't get it to kick like I want. I keep just pulling them off the unreg and slamming them on a regulated cause I want more umph. SO I've been doing some 'testing'. Find the power level on the regulated that seems to hit like the parallel (at full battery) and it's showing a sad 3.5 or less voltage hitting the atty on a .08 build. I'm finding more and more that standard unreg just doesn't cut it for me (well it works pretty great with my RTA).
Got a Keen on order might be another week or so before it's in. I'm really excited to have my own mech to fiddle with. I'm hoping I can get it to give me a satisfactory vape in the super-sub department.
praise the build gods get them while they are hot people! this is one of the only coil building tools that actually helps you build better. i have tried everything, and most of the stuff is just a crutch that stops you from learning things right/covers your bad prep/training-wheels etc...these things will actually up your game when it comes to the harder builds. good swivels and these clamps are all you need to buy, good habits and prep will get you the rest of the way to whatever build you can imagine.Just so you guys know, the Raymo Clamps are back! what unregulated dual parallel are you using? is there anything you can take apart and clean? i have had some mysterious performance issues that boil down to me not cleaning them good enough. start to notice performance slipping, clean it all up and it makes no difference. turns out the problem was deep inside the switch that i had never fully disassembled (until the performance suffered enough to make me think about it more/try to fix it). make sure your atomizer is all tight and clean as well. this goon 25 that i just set up had a slightly loose 510 pin, which was making it read wrong and fire terribly until i tightened it up. with some luck, your problem will be something easy like that.
another thing to think about is the regulated mod you are using to compare...some of them have a pre-fire/power spike when you first hit the button so they feel like they are hitting way harder than whatever the screen says your power is at. those mods will almost always feel better than a mech mod at the same voltage and make it hard to accurately compare how things feel.

i have a nc-II and a dpro as well, and compared to a fully mechanical parallel box they do both feel a bit weak...especially in the range of .1 and lower. i think both of them are governed/limited to a max output, for our safety i prefer those mods with atomizers that work good with smaller coils...usually tanks with builds focused more on battery life than power. if you are using 3mm coils and its not feeling hot enough or ramping up very well, try 2.5...the reduction in mass, and slight decrease in resistance (moar wattage), as well as the smaller amount wick/juice to heat up all add up to a noticeable performance increase imo. i do a lot of 2.5 and even 2mm builds on smaller tube setups (like the petri 1.5 at 22mm, or the first sapor rda and rtas). only problem is that a lot of atomizers kinda suck if the coils are 'too small' for them, and most things these days are 24mm and up. i ran into this trying to run the aromamizer plus on a slam piece. that thing needs 4mm coils to really sing imo, and its hard to get 4mm coils to light up the way i want them to on a single 30t, and have the battery life to finish the tank. i tried it with a 3.5mm build that i like in 'the tank' and it sucks in the plus...i did get an ok 4mm build together for it, but it still was nowhere near as good as it is at ~8v on the hammer of gawd, so thats where the plus will remain.I have a NCII and a CoilArt DPRO. Both Semi-Regulated (safety features, ect) so they do run through a chip. I do expect a decent drop just for that ... but not as much as I am getting. I do not have a mech box so I can't really dismantle and clean. I can, and have, remove the top plate and clean out some of the inside. And my contacts are sparkly gold. As far as my regulated mods go I don't use any of the pre-fire options or curves or anything. I've always found them to be disruptive to my expected vape considering that I spent a long time on a podentiometer tube/pen one of the old eleafs, and then the I-stick 50W. No extras on those bad boys lol.
I've tried a large number of atty/build/juice combos over the past few weeks, really digging in to see if I can make it work like I want. And to be honest I can get them to work reasonably well for that middle of the road 50-70w style vape, like I said my velocity style RTA works pretty decent on them with some 5 wrap 4 ply SSFC at .12. But I wanted to see if I could get them to my more preferred ~100w RDA experience. I mean, a set of aliens works fairly decent on it. But I prefer ribbon in my builds. And the moment I slap any staple variation in an RDA it acts like it's running from an old ego-batt. Sure I guess the benefit would be battery life. And if it turns out to be just my RTA mod then that's fine and it's still money well spent, I think I spent 20 bucks on each one. Plus the NCII is my series mod so It has a purpose at least lol. I should really just knuckle under and get a paralleled true mech. But I wouldn't even know where to start there. THink I'll just work with my Keen when it comes in to get a real understanding of true mech vapes and revisit this lol
holy shit manHey you guys! Working as a dog these last days. Found some time to build today and have something
Will work on colorshots tomorrow, but at least the build is done.

Yah the DPRO is a 133w mod (which should be more than enough for me if it would actually pump that much out lol). idk what the NCii maxes at but I'm sure it's governed to some degree.i have a nc-II and a dpro as well, and compared to a fully mechanical parallel box they do both feel a bit weak...especially in the range of .1 and lower. i think both of them are governed/limited to a max output, for our safety i prefer those mods with atomizers that work good with smaller coils...usually tanks with builds focused more on battery life than power. if you are using 3mm coils and its not feeling hot enough or ramping up very well, try 2.5...the reduction in mass, and slight decrease in resistance (moar wattage), as well as the smaller amount wick/juice to heat up all add up to a noticeable performance increase imo. i do a lot of 2.5 and even 2mm builds on smaller tube setups (like the petri 1.5 at 22mm, or the first sapor rda and rtas). only problem is that a lot of atomizers kinda suck if the coils are 'too small' for them, and most things these days are 24mm and up. i ran into this trying to run the aromamizer plus on a slam piece. that thing needs 4mm coils to really sing imo, and its hard to get 4mm coils to light up the way i want them to on a single 30t, and have the battery life to finish the tank. i tried it with a 3.5mm build that i like in 'the tank' and it sucks in the plus...i did get an ok 4mm build together for it, but it still was nowhere near as good as it is at ~8v on the hammer of gawd, so thats where the plus will remain.
if the keen (great looking mod btw. i had to look it up because im totally out of touch with current hardware lol) is your first true mech mod, it will teach you a lot about building. a lot of people get hung up on all the techniques and hard builds, but there is an equal amount of stuff you have to learn that has nothing to do with technique. it doesnt matter if you are on alien staggs or plain round wire, the challenge on the mech is to get a good balanced build for your battery/atomizer/preferred vape. believe it or not, i think i went through more attempts to get a great vape out of a kayfun at ~1ohm on a mech mod than any other setup/style...its not hard to get a working setup, or an ok build, but finding that sweet spot that vapes great can be harder than making the fancy wire (for me at least)

holy shit man
i started out on a crappy old cuboid, which limited me to 20a builds. i got stuck building in whatever resistance range it could handle and it was hard to get out of that (or even realize what was wrong with all my builds at first) when i got my first mechs. its fun getting a feel for everything though. a set of n80 aliens with a 316 middle core vapes a little different...cat track/cable core/bundles of high gauge (which can also be mixed gauges/alloys) gives a similar but more adjustable alternative to ribbon stacks...sometimes even the same staple variant +/- 1 or 2 plies of ribbon (or swap 2 n80 for 2 316 plies or whatever) can make a difference to the vape you get.Yah the DPRO is a 133w mod (which should be more than enough for me if it would actually pump that much out lol). idk what the NCii maxes at but I'm sure it's governed to some degree.
I learned to build on a Smok Alien. So I have always been spoiled when it comes to building what I want and figuring out how to vape it using the power. It was just in the past year that I started messing with unregulated. But hadn't really dug hard into it until recently. I still have a lot of playing to do. My next round of testing will be changing alloys to include SS (not my preferred alloy but I'm vaping in a different way so who knows lol). Also was going to work down further in ID. And sitting here writing this I just realized I haven't tried my Rune on it. It's a great bottom airflow atty that accommodates a huge range of builds. thinking maybe also dumping the ribbon to a minimum. Like a 3 ply .3/28 fraple core with SS ribbon. 5 on a 2.5 will get me about .1 pre-fire. Hm yah I think that's my next attempt for the dpro

im just looking through my gear and trying to identify the builds i was running on the nc-II and i found a set of alien staples (no frames) at 2.5mm in a goon lp that i remember being quite a surprise. definitely worth a try at some point if you havnt yet...
I bet it does lmao!!If my low build vapes a bit flimsy I just put it on my Vaperz Cloud "Stormbreaker" mod with 3× Samsung 30T in parallel. It fixes it every time.
daaayum!
wow thats a nice looking mod. i havnt been keeping up on hardware lately so i had never heard of that thing until now. how does the switch feel/work? is it bigger/taller than a hog v3? how long until deathwish mods puts out a way cooler special edition that makes us all regret buying the boring black one?If my low build vapes a bit flimsy I just put it on my Vaperz Cloud "Stormbreaker" mod with 3× Samsung 30T in parallel. yeah i went on a bit of a ss kick (i think my favorite build was 30/40 aliens for tubes) for a while, but i dont like the way it 'temp controls' itself on mech mods. it doesnt feel like it does that as bad when theres some n80 in there and i rarely use ss by itself any more because of that...I've been mixing alloys for quite some time now. I started doing it with N80 frames and KA1 ribbon due to the fact that it would allow me to get more metal in while keep the resistance where I wanted it. Then I started to include SS just for the color combos. As a matter of fact I've done a number of Ni frames with SS ribbon. A 3 or 4 ply SS stack doesn't typically feel like an SS vape. Which, for me, is a good thing lol
I've done a few twisted high gauge cores (I call them super soakers) in SSFC's. But I haven't played with them enough to get a feel for how it really affects the vape. SO thanks for the reminder ... I'll put some cat-tracks and super soakers on the list
I haven't done an unframed staple core in a looooonog time. I'll give that a try as well.
I'll tell you ... one of the things that keeps me going back to the ssfc for my adv is the longevity I get out of them between cleanings. A tightly compressed fuse just seems to gunk up so much faster. I like a high gauge fuse, 38g+ (I find that < 36 is just such a drain on the ramp and takes forever to cool down while wanting to chain vape) But the higher the gauge the faster it gunks up with a tight fuse from a clatpon or alien wrap.. Hell that last 46g fraple I did didn't even give me 24 hours before it looked like someone had spread asphalt tar all over it and the center wraps lost their definition and kinda became a mountain of goo. And that's with a DIY juice with no extra sweeteners. I find that a SSFC doesn't do that nearly as bad nor as quickly. I can only conclude that is has to do with the spacing between the final fuse wraps since that is really the only thing that changes between a standard fraple/fralien and a ssfc. Sitting here thinking about it I do like an interlock alien as well so that's something else to throw in.
That's another insane build lol! Love your work man. I just don't get the time to even attempt anything that crazy. I'm backed up so much with orders and with life in general. I guess that's what you get when you agree to send people 5 pairs of Fraliens for 30 dollars . Feels good. Works good. Obviously it's a bit taller than the HOG V3 because it can accept 21700s, but it is still ergonomically shaped and so it doesn't feel too clunky in the palm of your hand, and also the weight is not uncomfortable. That plus you can have 3× Samsung 30T for those super low builds and to zap a slow ramp up is I think the main selling point so that's it... it's a big zapper. For zapping your big TV, with a clouded picture. Darbee Darblet style kind of picture. If you liked my review then feel free to leave that it the comments and please su.. oh well actually just fuck it. yeah i went on a bit of a ss kick (i think my favorite build was 30/40 aliens for tubes) for a while, but i dont like the way it 'temp controls' itself on mech mods. it doesnt feel like it does that as bad when theres some n80 in there and i rarely use ss by itself any more because of that...
agreed on the high gauge wrap clogging up...though i have had some framed staples with 46 wrap act like teflon before. it was covered in so much caramelized gunk it looked like the outside of a piece of meat thats been on the bbq all day. when i pulsed the coils to clean them off, there was a loud 'pop!' and the gunk exploded off one of the coils completely. underneath, the wraps looked as good as they did when i took the color shots. the gunk on the other coil just peeled off with minimal effort and the coils both came back to looking like they were brand new. the first coil that popped kinda reminded me of the old cartoons where someone got tricked into lighting the exploding cigar

And please don’t forget about my live stream this Easter of me in a rabbit suit, with the crotch and ass cut out, shitting in an adult diaper after drinking a gallon of exlax. Hoping to raise enough money to get a scooter. And don't forget to check out my gofundme. I'm trying to raise $10,000 to make a piece of toast look like a coil.
