It does that to me in spouts. It embarrasses me when someone speaks to me and I feel like it looked like I ignored them. But that's the Internet for you. Servers get overloaded sometimes and take a while to catch up.grr vu wasn't showing this thread in my notifications or in my news feed

Speaking of great classic rock music, we just saw Steely Dan live this past week and was a very good show. Anyone that's a fan of Fagan and Becker should catch the current tour if you can. They played all but one song from Aja I think. Good time!

Bah, missed my NASCAR race today. I WAS awake for the pre-race show, but fell back asleep. Drat.
Bad part is, I woke up at like 3:30pm and hadn't turned the AC on all day in 95F heat....fucking furnace in here.
The bill's gonna hate it, but one good thing about a 1970-ish White-Westinghouse Mobilaire 17,500 BTU monster of an AC is, that when I DO crank the sucker up, it's gets cold FAST.
The Beast:
AFAIK, the building was built around 1970 and it's original.
About 5mins on high cool and max chill and it's back to livable again. I normally run it on cool-low and set to half cooling power

I'm not one of those people that has an overwhelming need to be right but, considering Manfred Mann's recording is in my top ten all-time favorite songs, I gotta reassert that it was Springsteen. He wrote it in 1972 to appease Clive Davis. He actually went thru the dictionary and picked out rhyming words as a jab to the record exec who didn't think his album had any songs strong enough to get airplay. He thought it was a big joke at the time.
