Nothing that was unexpected or that any of us haven’t or won’t go through and honestly don’t know if I’ve cried about it here or not cuz my brain is whacked right now. My brother passed in January. That hit my 93 year old mom hard. She started having memory issues that got worse very quickly. Then she fell, laid on the floor alone for nearly a day, 10 days in the hospital and yesterday we had to put her in a nursing home. Working on getting all of her stuff figured out and have to get 20+ years of her holding on to stuff and moving it out of her apartment. Hardest part is that every trip to where she lives is over a 100 mile, 2 hour round trip. None of this was unexpected and we have been “planning” for it but it still is the suckfest that is 2025.
Oh is that all?

Have I mentioned nights are dropping to the teens Celsius here? Terrible

But seriously, that is a sucky year. And it's only April. Poor, dear, sweet, handsome hawkie

I’ll survive.
6 hrs of cleaning and packing in moms apartment and I think we’re about 15% done. Moms mental decline grows every day and that’s probably the hardest part. But my mind declines daily too so I get it.

Sorry to hear about your trials.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Poor Hawkie, I know what you're going through. I went through it with both my dad and my wife's mom. Peace be with you.

Appreciate that guys. Got a little whiny there. Normally I suck it up and let my total lack of emotions take over. Also dealing with “time sensitive “ issues regarding my brothers will for my niece and nephew. His will was written in 1981 and never updated. Mom. And I are on it but not them. Trying to switch it to them….total clusterf@#k and with them being 1,000 miles away it’s time consuming. Already been to a notary 3 times and got another packet today that needs a notary.

And Herk is a stinky hippy that has a vet appt. On Tuesday. Bath and budget backwoods haircut has to happen.

poor hawkie

mum was good in final years about organising stuff like wills

pretty much everything. Except "emergency contact" with paliative care

she listed me, who never answers his phone

so the night she died, she'd had a reasonable day. Staff told sister no need to stay. Somewhere later that night things turned south and they rang me. So mum died alone or with only hospital staff

who seriously makes phone calls in the 2020s? ridiculous

sister tried to ring me the next morning. i let it go to voicemail then texted her that i assume mum croaked

It’s 2025…..get use to it.
Mom was moved to memory care today.

Herk got a haircut . That was the best thing that happened today.

Did I mention cross tapering off Sertraline to Fluoxetine?

Wanna violently wrestle? Horrific violence. In the nude. Cannot confirm nor deny the involvement of a giraffe

I’m going to need confirmation of animal involvement.
Giraffe is optional. In fact nearly any animal would do…..except for egg laying mammals. That is just not right.
Perhaps a slightly psychotic Shetland pony?

Keif tell me you watched the Masters….Hawkie, Gophie?
ANYONE???
omg I screamed and cried with each up and down.
don’t want to spoil it if you haven’t seen it, but from the 1st hole it was nerve city. There was even a background of John Legend singing “I get nervous”

No, I was out playing, but not succeeding too well.
We were settling bets and I heard they were going to a playoff. Came home and found out Rory won…
