K's rotator cuff surgery is scheduled for tomorrow morning at 6:30.
Who the hell does surgery at 6:30 in the morning? I sure hope this surgeon is a morning person.
We watched a YouTube video of the procedure. Wow, had no idea how involved it was. I figured they were just gonna open her up, put a few stitches in and close her back up. Nope!
Gonna be a long day.

My hand surgery was supposed to be at that time too. On our way to the hospital at a little after 5:00AM and I get a call from the nurse asking me where I am. I do recall that there were 4 - 5 other gurneys in the OR when they wheeled me in. Meant to ask them if those were the surgeon's practice rounds or just what else he had scheduled. Re-attaching the nerve and tendon I severed took almost two hours, so I guess a shoulder would be even longer.
Best thoughts and prayers for K. I went through this 1 1/2 years ago. For me, the bad pain was helped by meds and it didn't last for more than week or so. Also my PT wasn't bad...the therapists didn't believe in working into pain. Hugs to you both, keep us informed.

I've always been considered pretty technically savvy. Had my own "blog" with a "staff" of 3 or 4 nerdy classmates in the 90s when I was pretty young that was basically a predecessor to Myspace/Facebook for us young nerds. But I can not figure out how to successfully use that Pinterest thing for the life of me.

I'm pretty excited today. I'm officially one small student loan from being debt free. I don't quite follow Ramsey. I don't budget and instead of paying double etc, I dump money into savings until I can make the payoff in full. That way I have an extra large "emergency savings" during that time, for things like my wife's random surgery or the four wheeler I decided I wanted... If I'd follow Ramsey I'd probably be a good year ahead of where I am now but without the motivation his program gave me, I'd still be going backwards. I'd celebrate but my savings is currently below my comfort level. Still pretty excited though!

Congrats Shane. There is talk here that people might have to start making repayments when their annual salary is about$40,000 (currently 50 something) Apparently that will mean much more people will repay theirs. I've never earned enough to make a repayment.
