Happy New Years Eve, boofheads!!!

I'm bruised.........I'm battered.....I'm sore........Yesterday's session was not fun...........BUT........I'm starting to get feeling in my fingers today!!! Maybe 2017 will be a great recycled year. I mean if it's recycling Mer's birth year, it has to be good, right? :blowkiss:

Somehow, I don't think she is sharing.....lol.

I'll just let my cutie chiro take care of me....lol. He's giving me a hicky on Friday.......I'll just let your minds wander on that one....lol

No... No she selfish and not the Sharing type.
I hope they get to the bottom of it for you though.

Maybe they can try neurotin or baclofen. If they give you the options, baclofen has less side effects.

OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY EFFIN GOD! After all the struggling for so many years, we finally got a break. My mom loaned out $30,000 in 1987 from inheritance to buy a house for some family. At this point she didn't expect to see a penny, until this morning she got a text saying that they sold the house, and she would like to send us $10,000

I cannot tell you how much silent suffering I've been through just wishing that something would happen to at least ensure we can eat and get the essentials. We can finally eat every single day! And not just once a day! We can get propane so we aren't freezing! We can get a car that doesn't die anytime you stop giving it gas, one with brakes that work and a heater that keeps my little toes warm! Im actually happy to be alive! Timing couldn't have been better
That is truly awesome news!!!!! Wishing you and your family all the best for next year!!

Happy New Year!

And, if I missed anyone earlier, a belated thank you for the birthday wishes. If it's any excuse, that's the same day that I found out that my mom went to hospice care. Alzheimers/dementia is a bitch, but it looks like she'll make it to see the New Year.

Morning, knucks!

Trying to survive over here. Pinched a damn nerve in my neck (I think) at a water aerobics class back in September......I've been going to a chiro to try to get it better and then in October my fingers (pointer and thumb on left hand) went numb and have been numb ever since........It's driving me crazy! Have you ever tried typing, cooking, baking, cleaning, doing your hair with a numb hand? Ughhhhhhhh.........So, I went to see a different chiro. who evaluates for carpal tunnel and he told me I did not have it......hallelujah.... but I had to go get xrays of my neck before he would do anything. Long story short, xrays came back fine and I saw him last night......all I can say is I NEVER thought my neck would crack like it did. I think everyone in the waiting room heard it. Scared the shit out of me! Today, I'm pretty sore and I get to do it all again Thursday.......lol

Not sure why I decided to share a paragraph with all of you at 7 am..........but, oh well.......hope you are getting your fill of cookies and college football! lol
OUCH!! Here's hoping this is the cure for whatever ails ya!

I am happy for both of you! At least they are trying to pay back the debt. Enjoy your peace of mind and hopefully there will be many more bright spots for you.

If you start Star Wars: A New Hope at precisely 10:02:43 PM tonight, the Death Star will explode at exactly midnight.

Happy New Years!

I'm not certain, but this might be the most "nerd"-like statement of this forum and I love it! Wish I had seen it earlier. I would have posted it to a friend. Bet she and hubs would have done exactly this! LOL

I don't like the post but I liked it to show support. I am so sorry Keith. Prayers for you and the family, and, of course for mom. This is a rough one.

Haha, thanks I think. I'm not actually a big Star Wars fan, only saw the original 3. But, it seemed like a fun fact.

Thank you.

She was diagnosed over three years ago, so it was expected. She doesn't seem to be in much pan or anything. Just sleeps a lot. She's lost the ability to consciously swallow, but for some reason her memory got better. She recognizes most of the family, except for the youngest great-grandkids.
I know that there is a "season for all things", so I am okay

Sorry for the somber news, but know that I love all you guys !

I hear you and agree. However, I do believe the term "nerd" applies to Star Wars and Star Trek aficionados. I love the first few years of Star Trek and I did enjoy Star Wars quite a bit. I have, however, lost interest over the years. I think I am old.

Yep, there is a season for all things. I don't like some of them but it doesn't make much difference what I like in this instance. (((((Keith))))). Hugs are good in all seasons.

The Broncos are kicking butt against the Raiders. Now, it won't do us a bit of good as far as post season but it is a huge rivalry going back years. I am tickled to see the offense clicking again. Our defense is great, as usual, but the Raiders are on their backup-backup quarterback so I don't think it's nice to say anything about their inability to score.

Keith...Hang in there. I know first hand how difficult it is when you have a loved one with Alzheimers/dementia. It does suck. Just do all that you can to be there and try to take care of yourself in the process. Big hugs.

Morning doggie!

So, my son is visiting and I mention how I'm looking at cameras and he says he has a Nikon d3200 that he got from a friend that he never uses. Be happy to let me try it out. 2017 is looking good

excellent

do you understand basics of aperture etc? bracketing is good too

i'm a bit old school though, modern photographers leave it on "auto" then fix in photoshop

I've watched several YouTube videos for beginners. Seems to be all about aperture, iso, and shutter speed. Could be a bit before he visits again and I actually get the camera. So, plenty of time to research.

pretty much

if you watch down the lens of a camera, the little shutter things open and close to varying degrees

little opening is high aperture, which will need to stay open longer so need a tripod, but everything in frame will be sharp

QzsWEJX.jpg

bigger opening, like aperture 3.6 lets light in quick, but has narrow depth of field... good for sports and fast moving stuffs

Macro-Photography-2.jpg

i guess "iso" came out on top over American S[?] in naming rights... it was how much silver gelatin is in film, so low numbers need longer exposure times, but are very crisp, high numbers are grainy

shutter speed is best to bracket, set the aperture you want and take 3-5 shots circling around what the camera estimates to be best

in truth, i can't take good photos, but i could give lecture series on the theory of how to lol

I still can't get over these point and shoot cameras zoom capabilities. Look up Nikon p900 zoom test on YouTube. Shit is crazy. One guy zooms in and you can see Saturns rings. No clarity, but you can see it.

I can't see the usefulness TBH.

Nikon have always made good lenses though.

I have a few lenses. Rarely use anything other than 30 to 50 mm equivalent (which I think is 10 to 30 mm) it is a good all rounder for the kind of pics people actually take.

Seems most of them get used for zooming in on girls at the beach. All just videos too. Not sure if a long range pic is any good.
