Now if you're talking about it taking forever to post or read something, then it's FUBAR at times.

The retirement gods have given me approval to start receiving back small monthly dribs and drabs of the chunks of $$$ that I’ve been forced to give them for 50+ years. My initial plan to stop working mid august was misread by some govt. lackey in Kansas City. In his/her defense, when you fill out a form that asks when you want your last working day to be anybody would read that as give me my money on this date. Long story short….work 1 minute in august, start receiving social security in mid to late October. Don’t work in August, start receiving it in mid September. 🤔……hmmmmmm…..guess when my last day will be????

I had an epic battle with SSA. They didn't want to give me my money because I didn't take Medicare Part B when I turned 65. I didn't want Part B at the time and get billed for that as well as pay for insurance from my company. I had to prove to SS that I was insured the whole time..grrrrrr Anyway got that fixed and got Part B and they back dated my SS to when I turned 66 and 4 months so I got a big first check.

65 used to be retirement age here. They are currently weaning it up to 70 years old

But ours is government pension. Which everybody over 70 gets, unless you have too much assets so are deemed to not need it

We do also have compulsory superannuation. Employers have to put 8% of your paycheck into a super fund. When you sign up you select options like if you want high risk investment with potential to earn more. Or death cover for family if you die at work etc

Not many people earn enough to live off their superannuation. I don't know current figures but I think that to live off it to average life expectancy, you'd need to have put away a couple of million

Some people make voluntary extra contributions while working. Which the government matches dollar for dollar into your investment portfolio thing

Retirees don't earn much
