Hello Everyone,
Just as the title says... Let me tell you where I'm coming from (and its been quite a ride so far). I recently purchased an IPV4S and I'm loving it. I've tried all the features on it so far from my standard kanthal build (between .25 and .3 ohms) to a dual ni200 build to a dual titanium build. I tried out temp control for about a week, and switched back to kanthal out of paranoia. Going back to kanthal kinda made me realize what I was missing with it so until temp control gets a bit more perfected, I'm going to stay tried and true.
I was on the fence about getting a mech, flip flopping back and forth. But out of sheer curiosity I really want one but I'm not sure how the experience will be different from my regulated IPV4S. Whats attractive to me is everything being replaceable and easily repairable for the most part. It also seems like a more "natural" way to vape since you have to feel what the mods doing instead of waiting for a cutoff to happen.
I've gone to Steam Engine and ran the numbers on my batteries (I have 2 pairs of Samsung 25r's), and looks like my build between .25 - .30 ohms should be good on any mech I grab. I want a dual 18650 parallel box (looking at the sick clouds gen2, Tugboat Tuglyfe, and even the Hexohm V2 although I know its not technically a mech), as I know that will get my amperage up and will be safer overall.
My questions are: How will this be different from my regulated box? Will ramp up times be slower and will my vapor be cooler? Or is my IPV4S so superior I should just write off mechs all together?
I feel like I've missed out on mechs but they are fascinating to me. I've always wanted one but I don't want to take a step back... does that make sense? Anyway as usual, thanks a bunch VU and love the advice I get here.
