Signature for buying things online?

So i want to buy a vape and im wondering if when it arrives i will need to sign a signature. It ships via usps first class.

It isnt just more of an inconvenience. Im not home often either. If the mail man come by when im not home what happens to the package?

They will leave a slip for you to pick up at the PO if a SIG is required
