Since I'm having a hard time finding cartomizers I need a new set up!

I have vaped for about 5 years with a automatic xl 808d1 battery and kanger cartos. I have tried the clearomizers and not had much luck. The juice I use is very thin only 10% vg(I don't need a big cloud). The clearomizers seem to flood or something. Also I don't refill my cartos, I like a new one each time. Since I'm having a hard time finding cartos I need something new that will work with my batteries. Any suggestions would be great!! Thanks

Sorry but that will be hard to find since your batteries can not push out enough power for the attachments made these days.

If you Goggle it you should find places that still sell them plus you might want to try a Kanger-808D-1T4-Clearomizer also.

Well the KR808 connection is pretty much going by the way side, think Halo and couple other still use it. If you are looking to upgrade to a more modern device and still pretty much like a cartomizer, the Kanger Cupti might be up your alley, also the Joyetech AIO models are pretty decently priced, or the eLeaf iCare might work as well. A 90% PG juice though you are going to run into flooding no matter the device nowadays, maybe a rebuild able device but your vaping preference is pretty narrow on available devices or suppliers. You could try checking out Avid vapor, see if they still have any 808 cartons or drip atomizers.

You might consider an Istick Basic. Nice little compact 1 button rig and the little tank is pretty nice too. Use the .75 coils.
$30 or less for the setup.

The Cupti is pretty recent in the past few months, the atomizer is pretty similar to the old carto tanks in design, uses a 510 connection most everything has moved to over the 808. The iCare by eLeaf is all one unit, little battery tank and atomizer in one unit with replaceable coil heads, a larger version comes with a battery booster pack for extended battery power, but a nice simple all in one that fits in one hand. The Joyetech AIO all in one comes in a stick style and box style, little more powerful and more flexible from simple mouth to lung or direct to lung, both units are below $40 USD for the kit and extra pack of coil heads. Most devices on the market now run best at a 70pg/30vg blend the thinnest or they flood badly, to bump up the VG content that way without losing both flavor and nicotine content would be to get a bottle of your flavor same nicotine content in a high VG content like a 10 or 20 or 30 pg rest VG in ratio and mix the 1:1 should get you to a 60pg/40vg to 70pg/30vg or close to it. Just adding straight VG will dilute the flavor and nicotine content, though newer atomizer systems are far more efficient than the older 808 cartos, and use better wicking materials that accentuate flavor better you shouldn't tell a big difference that much.

If you are allergic to VG though, thus the reason you've stayed with 90pg juices all this time I'll tag @AndriaD in here as well, she has to run with thin juices as well due to asthma COPD and such conditions to get her input as well. Until you study your options available out there, seen someone posted above about Madvapes out of NC, USA. Another older vendor out of TX you could check out for cartos would be gotvapes.com might have 808 cartos or go with an 808 to 510 adapter and get some 510 cartos to tide you by which gotvapes.com has for under $4 USD.

I do not know your budget but there are plenty of very small compact starter units out there for under $50 USD.

I don't really have anything to offer. I loved cartos myself, love that tight draw, but my juice is such a gunk monster, I can't use cartos at all anymore. I got a couple of Achilles RDAs last year, and they are DA BOMB for those who love a tight draw as well as an RDA's rich flavor, but stupid fuckers don't make 'em or sell 'em anymore, even the clones (like mine) are no longer available. I splurged $98 for an authentic Achilles II, and it totally sucks -- the draw is too loose, thx to the 2.5mm interior airhole, and the bastard even leaks, which neither of my clone original Achilles do. I fixed that interior whopper of an airhole by inserting a blunt 12ga needle and cutting it down with a Dremel wheel, but it still leaks.

I also have a couple of Magma RDAs, which aren't bad as far as flavor, they're about the best for flavor I've found, next to the Achilles, but they leak, they can't be moved out of vertical more than about 40 degrees or they dump ejuice, and the draw isn't as tight as I prefer -- I fixed the draw by inserting blunt 13ga needles into the interior airholes and cutting them off with a Dremel wheel, and of course I use just a single of the smallest holes on the AFC ring, but fixing the draw didn't fix the leaking, it still does that.

I would suggest trying to find one of the older model Kayfuns, a Kayfun Lite Plus; tight draw, and decent flavor if you're not spoiled with an RDA.

Basically, the cloud chasers who'd rather huff than vape have caused the vapor industry to totally FUCK those of us who love a tight draw and don't give a rat's ass about stupid clouds.

I'm not allergic to the vg, I just don't care for the big clouds!! Thanks for your response, I think I will order another bottle of juice with the higher vg% and try to mix them to make it thicker. I know I'm going to have to upgrade sooner or later. Thanks again.

I agree about the cloud chasers!! Thanks for your response. It's frustrating since I'm very pleased with the simple system I have. I also like the auto battery and I guess that's a thing of the past also.

I have tried the t4 clearomizers and they flood out with my thin juice. Since I'm going to have to upgrade sooner or later, I might as well try to find a new setup. But it seems like that might be hard because I like the pen style with an auto battery. Thanks for your response.

I used an eRoll when I first started, since I thought that the cigarette form-factor and the auto-battery were what I really wanted... but it really didn't take long for me to get sick to death of the CONSTANT refilling and recharging those things require. Really, the manual (button style) is very easy to get used to. What might be more of an issue is building coils. It's true that there are a lot of options nowadays for pre-made coils, but a) they cost a lot more than the old single-coil/single-wire type used to cost, b) they're mainly for these ungodly huff style tanks, and c) this BS with the FDA might mean that pretty soon, they cease to exist -- all good reasons for learning to build your own coils, to become independent of whatever idiocy the FDA implements.

The reason I bring that up is because of the Kayfun Lite Plus that I recommended -- they really do provide a tight draw, if you tighten the hex screw adjustment on the bottom, and I found the flavor they provide pretty great, when I first started using them. But they do require you to build coils... which is actually very easy to do, it just *seems* intimidating at first. KFL+'s hold a pretty good bit, about 4, or 4.5ml, which I really liked, before I started using this juice that gunks so badly.

IMG_6833.jpg Thanks for all the recommendations everyone. I might have figured it out for now. I really wanted to keep my auto battery and I have an adapter that turns my 808 d-1 into a 510. I found a tank that uses the cotton fluff (or what ever it is) I think with my thin juice I need the fluff instead of the wicks. So, I have my battery with the 510 adapter and another adapter to go from the 510 to the tank and I vaped with it for about 6-7 hours last night using only one battery and it worked great. I've laid it down on my side table, upside down on my lap and upright in my back pocket and it has not flooded out once. It's a little top heavy and I don't like that it is a bottom fill tank. So, I think I might try a another tank that is a top fill like maybe the one that is used for an Innokin t18. But for now I'm happy!! Thanks again everyone!!

Be careful, you don't want to exceed the discharge rate on the battery.
Personally, any 20 to 50 watt mod will do just fine, especially with a kanger toptank mini (comes with premade coils and a mini rebuildable coil-easy to use). Clouds are mostly determined not only by VG content, but also wattage. More heat (watts) = more cloud. So if your cloud is to thick, turn the power down a bit. I recommend the kanger toptank because I have and use one. They are easy to build on, easy to wick (just ask how to) are very sturdy,
Only 3 things to remember. Turn the airflow off when filling and when not using (like over night). Make sure your coil is in correctly (threads mesh correctly) and the chimney is on straight after you change the wick/coil. These are very easy to use and if you did have any problem, we can tell you how to fix it on here. (such as juice leaking when you fill.. turn the airflow off. Juice spitting into chimney, turn the wattage up, dry hits, turn wattage down and check that the wick is wet.) Easy. The adjustable airflow lets you vape direct to lung or mouth to lung, which ever you prefer.

Andria
Not at all. If you only use one mod for 5 years, and the parts get discontinued, you need a new mod or new source to get the parts. In this case, the atomizers. Suggesting products similar to what she has based on our experience is hardly treating her like a newbie. I have to learn about each new item I buy. (God help me, it took me a week to figure out how to adjust the air flow on my So Horney RDA.. lol... it took me that long to figure out it came apart.. LOL)

also, the kanger toptank mini with the RBA mini, will let you build low wattage coils. I've built coils that ran on 8 watts when I was using the battery from my eplum. It is bigger and bulky on that battery, and top heavy, but will work if you just cant get a new mod right away.

OMG, the Migcig, that's a blast from the past as well, didn't know they were still in business so didn't suggest them, nice pull @SnapDragon NY

I have a friend that swears by these, Mig Cigs are all she uses and she has been vaping for over 3 years! I think that they are expensive and I have never used them. I just thought they looked very similar to the pics that the OP was showing and thought she might have better luck with MIG!

I used the eCabs for many months when I quit cigarettes. I liked the small size almost identical to a cigarette. You are right about the constant refilling, I bought spare cartridges and just kept them filled and popped them into the eCab when needed.Always swapping the battery out too. Hey , at the time they were great for me and kept me from cigarettes and all the parts and pieces were so cheap.

Yeah, the eRoll got me to quit... but I just couldn't take the hassle of it anymore, and got an iTaste vv3 and Kanger T3S on my first full day smoke-free -- and that was such a better vape, it really sealed the deal.

I got the iTaste vv3 too, except I used the Kanger eVod2(metal drip tip) on those. I still use the Nature series green leaves and blue crackle! I loved those and so great when you set it down, it didn't roll away!

Yeah I ended up with stainless, white, black, and chameleon... and now they're all in a drawer filed under "extreme backup" -- that 800mAh also became a huge pain in the ass! :giggle: I got a Sigelei Zmax right after my first vv3, and learned the joy of removable batteries; used that for about a year, then got started on box mods in early 2015, and haven't looked back, though I now have 2 of that Zmax's, for backup, along with a couple of tube mech mods, for Vapocalypse insurance. But my miniBooks and iPV Minis are my faves now, along with a whole flock of CF4's.

So, I have a couple follow questions if you don't mind.
Ask away.

I just bought 6-60 ml bottles of my juice about a month ago. Is there a way I can add vg to it to make it thicker without losing the flavor?
Yes...the easiest way is to just buy the same juice in the same nic strength but with a higher VG.

I think I am probably going to have to upgrade at some point.
More than likely.

I don't really know if I should stick with the cartos or go a different way.
You will have to change at some point I don't see many 808 stuff these days.Vape Stores don't carry them at all here

I have not tried any other style. I prefer the pen style as compared to the bigger battery packs.
Then go with a Ohm Wrecker Skillet Kit.

I also prefer the auto battery but it sounds like that is probably not going to work.
Auto pens have a tendency to fire in a stiff breeze...Not kidding.

I like the kanger brand cartos so maybe I should try the cupti.
The Cupti is pretty big go with something more familiar to what you're used to using.

Do you know if that is also going out?
?Huh?
Could you explain this a bit more.

Is the battery the problem or the thinness of the juice?
Combination of both in my opinion.

What do you think would be the best way to go?
Considering your current usage go with a Ohm Wrecker Skillet Kit.

You seem to know a lot more about all of this than I do!!
I cheated and peeked first.

Anytime...Cheers!

You know...You're quite right about that.

Heh. It just kinda bugged me; I've been vaping not quite 3 yrs, and feel like a fucking encyclopedia of vape knowledge at this point -- and she's been vaping a lot longer than that! If she says she wants an auto-battery, at this point, I trust she knows what she likes! Just like me and my super-tight draw that I catch so much crap about. :giggle:

I'm afraid I usually say it in a very sloppy southern fashion, sorta like "comf-ter-ble". I know it's wrong, but it's hard to speak differently from 99% of those around you. :D What kills the hell outta me is the way my husband says "ornery" -- like "on-ry" -- I ask you, what the hell happened to that first R??? And the entire 2nd syllable???

:giggle:

You might consider an Istick Basic. Nice little compact 1 button rig and the little tank is pretty nice too. Use the .75 coils.
$30 or less for the setup.
I have this little iStick Basic set and it works great, and is very tiny!

So, I have a couple follow questions if you don't mind. I just bought 6-60 ml bottles of my juice about a month ago. Is there a way I can add vg to it to make it thicker without losing the flavor? I think I am probably going to have to upgrade at some point. I don't really know if I should stick with the cartos or go a different way. I have not tried any other style. I prefer the pen style as compared to the bigger battery packs. I also prefer the auto battery but it sounds like that is probably not going to work. I like the kanger brand cartos so maybe I should try the cupti. Do you know if that is also going out? Is the battery the problem or the thinness of the juice? What do you think would be the best way to go? You seem to know a lot more about all of this than I do!! Thanks
I have not tried the Kanger Cupti, but the Kanger NeBox is one of my favorite devices for around $20.00, and contrary to the massive leaking stories, mine has worked without any issues and no leaking, ever! I do use higher vg eliquid like 65- 80 so maybe that helps. I also leave the NeBox on its side when at home, but throw this in my purse or pocket when on the go and have had NO leaking.

https://vaping.com/parts/coils/ss-occ-0-5ohm-coil these are the coils you need, I like the V2 SSOCC, but have found them cheaper elsewhere. The Kanger OCC coils work in this too.
Good luck!
