@Train nailed it. It is about finding the sweet spot with the mechs. Maintenance is very important, but building your coils to get the vape you enjoy is the other part. You may very well find the right built from the get go.

Really, finding the right build applies to all atties

Building for mechs will make you a black belt coil maker

I've lost my mind on those too, but haven't ordered any more yet. Love em.
Tried to go back to a normal drip tip on the Hadaly and not the same at all.
Those things give a super vape!

They do bump it up several notches

I liked the stock tips just fine until I got a load of those Signature jobbers. Now the stock DT seems like hind tit

Are you guys serious? I got stuck on the Nuppin and since then, nothing compares. My Hadaly is somewhere in here, but sorta neglected. I remember liking it, maybe one o' them DT's might make me like it again?

If only we could order some :(

I justified the extra expense by noting that - thanks to FT finally stocking silicone squonk bottles at a low cost - I would be saving tons of money by not buying real silkies :teehee:

It's night and day with the Signature Tip mate.

Panel removal is a simple system,Drop it on a supermake floor from three foot, all panels will detach haha, no really:)
The glue is epoxy, but delrin is not keyed so the glue has a hard time sticking to it. Battery contacts have same issue. Key the areas before you re epoxy the parts for longer lasting results.

LOL.

Tried to pry it open but it's not budging. Don't want to totally screw it up.

Indeed, that is a part of it. @Studiovape might chip in and enlighten us on the benefits of fine silver contacts vs. other materials. My understanding is that although fine silver does oxydize, it does so at a slower rate and the silver oxydes are conductive thus there is little voltage drop.
The subject of battery contacts is something I have researched in depth, and as far as pure silver is concerned you have summed up the advantages well, plain contacts are one thing the problem with non mosfet mechs is arcing at the switch contacts and this is not really addressed by solely your choice of metal however expensive or exotic. The arcing starts when connecting a high load via the contacts the higher the load the worse the arcing. The arcing is then going to cause pitting and oxidation at the contact points the more pitting and oxidation the more arcing you get, so over time less and less power gets to your coil as the contact resistance increases.
The only way to overcome this with any real long term solution is the have a "wiping contact switch" this means the contacts slide against each other as they connect and disconnect, keeping the contact faces continually cleaned. Or use a mosfet which is the solution I went with and haven't looked back.

Fyi ... Da One colored bottles back in stock.
They are 5.5ml so mainly for the smaller boxes, the black ones are available too in another listing, I bought a few to check em out.
Happy Weekend everbuddy!

https://dripfactorylabs.com/product/da-one-silicone-5-5ml-squonk-bottle/
Someone showed me that site yesterday because i wanted some refill bottles and they have them much cheaper than the boxer 30ml refill bottle i bought. I wanted silicone refill bottles instead of the super soft that are made of PET i think. I ended up picking up 4 15ml refill bottles and 2 5.5ml sqounk bottles to try out....

I'm a fan of DeOxit Gold.
Just a DROP on paper towel, and you can wipe the contact screw and the entire flat cap/body surface.
Then another drop, and clean the battery cap threads. And you're done.

The stuff lasts and lasts, and I've seen it eliminate arcing (in other mods, where it was visible).
$7 for a teensy tube on Amazon...

What do you guys use for cleaning the contacts? I have a CV on the way to try out.

Copper contacts can be a bugger. Some of the standsrd stuff for mod maintenance patinas copper.

I'll remain a perpetual white belt. ;) Even now having a Dremel with which to use for making twisted wire, Claptons. Agree though, it takes finding the just right coil build, the just right wick, just right airflow.

You'll see it going by various brand names. I refer to it generically as electrical grease. It has bits of zinc in it's creamy lubricating grease. That helps give better contact as well as helping dodge oxidation.

I must say, this one is a MOSFET mech
GXR6H0R.gif

It may be an unregulated mod, but if it uses a MOSFET, it's not a "mech", m'okay?

Would you buy this for $188? Got a 8ml silicone bottle. Italian language I think...

This and then that bought together would cost less and imho be far better an investment. Might as well add in a few of these kits, just in case you do wind up needing them. Stock RDA that the CVs come with is not shabby. A person could make do using it for a while if they decided on it.

If you're into fashion and trends, I'm sure $100+ for a mod makes all kinds of sense for you. I am not saying that such a position is wrong, only that even with those into fashion and trends there is likewise those not. I would not pay that for a mod myself, although I reserve the right to exception, it is too expensive.

Thank you for a super reply! :) Got the Coppervape already, and is very happy with it. Not into fashion trends, so I wont buy it then. :)

In auto parts stores dielectric grease is usually in the isle with the tubes of silicone, I have a big tube of permatex brand. Works great on threads of tube mechs as well to keep them in good condition.

As far as builds for mechs, I vape around 50-60 watts, so I shoot for around.2 or a little over. My favorite build ATM in dual coil is N80 fused claptons 2 strands of 28 wrapped in 38g, around 6 turns or so each.

I like nichrome way more than kanthal in mechs, faster ramp up and less coil mass. Should have some single coil atties in the mail this morning going to play around with some SS builds.

Any suggestions on a good charger? I want to get a 2nd one and prefer something that's going to last and not crap :)

I thought vaping and tinkering where the same thing.

Pretty much but some of us have tinkering limits.
I for one have no desire to fiddle with DNA chip software settings.
And I am an electronics tech/programmer :)

I just like my vapes fairly simple to operate.

I did use to tinker with my cigarettes all the time...
That did not work out so well.

I'm wondering how the door's held on. Both sides come off, and I saw one mod like that where the ONLY thing holding the door in place was magnets to the battery - which seems like a bad design. You push the bottle, the bottle pushes the other side off....
I mean, if it's SOLID, then OK - the Signature SQ is like that, but has like 10 magnets on each side, holding the door to the BODY, not the battery.

Anyway - other than that, looks like a cute box.

Similar preferences - I do kanthal or nichrome in dual atties (and I still do love some duals), but usuall SS in the single coil atties.

I tend to like resistance a bit higher - from 0.4 to 0.5, but that's just how I vape. Long deep slightly restricted draw.... If I didn't change my draw or aiflow, then a 0.2 ohm build would "scorch"...

I love my Opus BT-C3100's dearly. Excellent chargers - fan cooled, charge/discharge, condition and test batteries, etc.

I've had a nitecore i4 since 2012, take it out to the garage every so often to blow the cat hair out of it.

Yeah I just seen what you mean, got my first restricted 22mm single coil rda today. I put a .2 ohm ss build in it and it was wayyy too hot, damn if it didn't ramp quick tho lol. I'll give some higher builds a shot before I give up on tight draw small rda's.
