Squonkers are Bonkers

Why the heck did they quit making the S100 squonker?
Rip give it a bad review or something?

Probably because it came out before squonking became popular. If they released it again I’m sure it would be a hit. I’d consider getting one and save a bunch of money over buying a Li-Mo.

Keep remember reading that Geekvape decided it was innovative enough - so guess they had to go and make a plastic mech box with a side squonk to be different :giggle:
Trying to get in on the printed mech free for all?

Yep lots higher profit margin on that than the S100.

Gotta love vaping... One thing sells, so they all do it.
They are getting as many variations of gear as jeans.

Yeah I even cut the Levi squares off of my jeans if the wife buys me Levis.
I do not wear shirts that have someone else's name on them either.

I finally bought a squonk mod, a pico squeeze. can anyone with experience on this mod recommend a good ohm range to build for it? tried doing research on it, and some ppl say to build low (around .2), while others say to build high (around .5). any advice is welcome

.2 - .3 works for me.
At least 26 GA.
Not familiar with that atty though. This was just a generalized response for a psudo mech mod.

I love the Wasp Nano atty and cheap too.

I don't mind a discreet label or logo, but blasting it on the mod, or shirt, or pants

No thank you - I already paid for it. Advertising is up to the manufacturer, not me
Agreed, that's why I chose the t-priv over the voopoo drag. as far as clothes go, I only like big logos on band shirts

LMAO! I meant with vape gear.
It all looks the same, now.

BAM crew

sorry had slacks on my mind.
Have to buy a couple more pairs of them since after 5 years a couple pair of mine are looking a bit ragged.

But same thing if anyone wants me to advertise their stuff whether on my mod, shirt or butt they can pay me money.

What attie are you using? EDIT: see you are using the Goon 1.5

And what do you like to vape? I found it does't like claptons on a Odis clone under .8 ohms

I used to like simple round wire builds around 0.6-0.8, vaping them around 40 watts. but I recently started trying twisted wire, about 0.16 at 85 watts. but i'd be happy with just about any build, as long as it has good flavor.

I have gone to Dickie work slacks. Outlast Levis and more comfortable.
Even have flannel lined Dickie slacks.
NICE in winter.

Never could bring myself to wear Dickies

I like Dickies clothing, durable wearing clothes. Like Carharts for coveralls and big brown insulated coats. Those do real good for the Winter.

More oft than not though, sweat pants, t-shirt or what I dub PT shorts those very soft relaxed cotton shorts. T-shirts seem highly optional and are usually carried along to put on to go in somewhere.

Of course, I'm a furry ape so shirts get me too hot at times. Wife keeps threatening to take a lawn mower over my back and front. Got a while though, hid her policy paperwork on me. ;) :)

ETA: Let me give @chopdoc a holler, he'll like to read this. :)

Out today and went to Fairplain. Saw an apartment complex, spoke to lady in the office & got on the list. She might get one available mid to late November. Works out alright, our voucher is good to start of December. :) We're also looking at some other places.

General tentative idea is we'll take a year in apartment, then hopefully re-apply for the rural development help. That is a no go this year due to 'credit' issues, as in not enough to gauge. Then possibly see to a small homestead farm of our own. Kind of saddened by probably needing to farm our dogs out, maybe not getting them back. At the same time, we need to live life too. Once we have 'our farm' then I'll get some dogs for sure.

On the drip box 160, it can absolutely do higher ohm. I checked Busardo's review before offering to send it. In his power checks he took it over 3 ohm. The wattage limits get severe that high, but not like that'll be a problem, lol.

I'm trying to find coil suitable for testing with my other DB160, finally found 30ga 317L, but testing will have to wait until tomorrow.

Hope that reseat trick works out though.

Night all.

ETA: hope Busardo didn't have a prerelease with different capabilities. :(

I can see it's going to be less than fun when I need to change the battery, but all in all, I do like it.

I usually charge the battery in the mod.

I got mine today and have changed the battery one time and it tore the wrap on the battery!

A user on another forum recently got one and he took a Dremel to the battery lip and said it made a world of difference when changing the battery.
I may try it tomorrow, if I do I'll post pictures and thoughts on the mod.

Other than that this thing is really sweet!

I clean all my bottles with Isopropyl and let dry for 24 hours to remove any chemical taste.

I determined that the perfumey taste was in fact from one of the bottles, from one of the squonk mods -- I had some juice in the bottle of the SteamCrave, which I poured into the bottle of the DB 160 when I got it all set up... Then, when I setup the SteamCrave again yesterday, I poured the liquid back into the SteamCrave's bottle. However, when I first tried out the SteamCrave, with that Origen Little, I didn't notice any perfumey taste, so I think it must have been the DB 160's bottle that had the perfumey taste. Today when I broke everything all down again for cleaning, I set the bottle aside with that liquid in it, and the next time my Achilles needed a refill, I used that... YUCK!!!!!!!! Took rinsing out my Achilles with pure PG to get rid of that godawful taste, and a couple of partial-refills of the Achilles to finally get rid of it completely. I have that particular bottle, which fits in the SteamCrave, sitting now with some diluted dish liquid in it.

I also just determined that the battery problem was apparently some gunk on one of the contact points of the DB160's battery door; I cleaned it well with alcohol, dried it, and inserted the pair of HE2's -- and saw a full battery indicator, and the resistance reading of 9.99, since there's no atty on it. I can't check it with my pair of 30Q's right now, as I have one of those in my Minibook right now, but I'll check it tomorrow after this 30Q is charged again... and apparently I need to let that bottle soak in dish liquid overnight too.

How do you clean the tubing in a squonk mod? Just put some PG in the bottle and squonk it up into an atty?

I just wash the bottles and tubing, allow to dry....reinsert.

But there isn't any way to remove the tubing, is there? And if I did remove it... how would I put it back? The whole connection there under the 510 looks extremely complicated. That's for the SteamCrave -- I can't even see the connection in the DB 160, like to NEVER got the bottle free so i could put liquid in it.

I know you don't keep vodka laying around, that is what I do on the weird ones with a metal stem instead of plastic tubing

I just squirt it down the hole in the 510 and paper towel out the residue the drips out

You might want to try salt water or maybe water with baking soda to remove obnoxious taste? Then repeat with clear water

That is what I would do if vodka or other clear spirits were not an option

I was thinking PG would work; it's kinda-sorta an alcohol, and it's anti-microbial; has a rather "medicinal-doctor's office" sort of taste, so that might be sufficient to get rid of the traces of perfume taste.

I asked my husband once about getting some cheap high-proof vodka for cleaning coils, back when I still used replaceables; he said "ixnay on the oozebay!" :giggle: Can't blame him; I worked hard for my 25 yrs of sobriety, but times like right after my mom's death... if there had been ANY "oozebay" in the house, I'd have drunk it -- I even looked to see if I had any vanilla flavoring. Fortunately, I did not.

Maybe you could try 'quat' or similar food safe sanitizers. I used to buy it all the time for home, it's a commercial sanitizer for kitchens and food prep.

Well, PG will do an admirable job of sanitizing; I'm more concerned with the residual taste/smell. I've now got both of the mods' bottles soaking in diluted dish soap; tomorrow I'll flush some PG thru the tubing, see if that gets rid of it. It did a semi-fair job of removing it from my Achilles, though I needed to also flush some of my juice thru it, to finish getting rid of it. This is why I hate perfumes of EVERY type; when that shit gets in your mouth, it's NASTY.

So I read now, confirming you're squonking. :) Aside from this nagging minor adversity, how do you like it? I hope you do like it. For me the journey from Enjoy cig-a-likes has run its course. Not keen to use tanks much if at all now. Liking the RDAs and the handy squonk bottle to help somewhat eliminate carrying a bottle to drip, fuss, muss. :)

You might want to try salt water or maybe water with baking soda to remove obnoxious taste? Then repeat with clear water

Might try the simple effervescent of vinegar & baking soda too, or simply vinegar (figure white distilled would be ample) to cut taste/smell residue. Sure you might then have minor vinegar smell/taste but it'll 'wear' out quickly if you just have to vape immediately after cleaning. It'll wear out by air drying for a couple of hours to a day as well. I would suggest Lysol but well, ya'll thinking about PG which will have the same effect yet nix any risk of other chemical exposures, and ammonia is definitely out of the question.

When I worked at the apple product plant I had fun cleaning a Sugar Room. It was an access room where the auger tubes ran sugar from big metal silo containers outside into the inner plant workings, apple-sauce, apple juice, apple butter, apple jelly/jam/preserves all requires use of sugar, a top brand name sports drink did as well.

The cleaning crew had to swap out from bleach to cut the sugar evaporate which slimed the floor and walls in there. It was a cramped room. Ammonia was used to spray the room down, then rinsed with hot soapy water, then cold plain water. Well, I had opened the door to the outside. it had gotten blown mostly shut on me. "Boom!" The room got flooded with a noxious gas from the reaction of the ammonia with the sugar at such a level.

A buddy just happened by as i was shoving the door open and coming outside. He caught me in his arms, guided me to sitting on the ground. Of course he first laughed, then chided me about being more careful. Told him the door took its own mind. After that I got rotated away from cleaning the sugar room. Guess they realized I could not smell. *chuckles*

This sounds familiar to how an Odis version 2 got mysteriously added to my cart on FastTech. Unfortunately, I needed to cancel it as my stipend could only shop so much. might need to look at these mods you mention for next time. Kind of hate to but I guess $70 for a regulated squonker might get me over the shinyitis Spanky keeps suggesting. Then again, not sure; ... I might talk myself out of it if Spanky can keep quiet. :giggle: :)
