Haven't gotten any new stuff lately...'til today!
Picked up a squonkbox I didn't know much about. It's one with a kind of "cutout strip" on the back that's the button? It's kind of plastic-ey, but it's got a reset 510... VERY hard to get a picture, cuz it's just black, lightly etched. Yes, that's a raccoon on the door.raccoon1.jpg

And I also got an RDA!
New-to-me, but used, and OLD-school. An original O-atty.
Came with a whole slew of caps (and of course a squonk pin). I like the ones in front best cuz I can put a fat tip on those.
Not yet built and fired up - that'll be for Friday night excitement maybe.

It is still in storage and haven't dug it out yet, but am considering trying to trade my dual CC for a single

Thought I'd post here first to see if there may be any interest in it before spending a lot of time digging it out

That looks like a really expensive version of the stainless Coppervape. I just love all-stainless rigs, just beautiful.

The CVs were modeled off the Custom Classic

Now, there is almost no comparison in craftmanship and what have you, but the inspiration is defo there

It's a gorgeous piece of vape history there - if I was still collecting I would want it just because

Am really aiming for a CC though; something I will use as a daily driver
The double is just too much for my dainty lady hands :teehee: to use as a main vape

Mine came with delrin, but mine almost all came from before they were a mainstream offering; you had to get on the list Dre would put together for a co-op buy and they only made a dozen or so at a time

Yeah that's a stock Coppervape button. Looks like the mods been "polished" or maybe just used a lot, lol.
I don't think of them as a clone - but there are similarities for sure.
They were a real good value...almost as big a win as the Pico Squeeze!

I got that one in the hardware section, used...
And I mean really used!
I completely refurbished it and polished it.

Great value, especially as - except for the atrocious kangers - there were no cheap squonks on the market yet

And I bought a stainless one from you. It needs work on the button, or a new button. It won't reliably fire.

I think you included some spare parts. I need to dig that out.

I've had four of them now and I think that they are all that way. Taking them apart and cleaning everything helps.

I've found that too. And not just the "usual" spots - there's something I think, about how the connection is weird - like the top of the bottle screws on - and somehow that's part of the circuit. At least if you're using the original bottle/cap...
Plus, the whole surface where the top meets the body is a Neg. connection point. And the battery cap threads - I can tell the difference when I de-ox-it the battery cap threads.

I couldn't agree more!
In fact, the one I have was getting to the point where I had to move the switch around while pushing it.
I took the top apart and thoroughly cleared all parts, put it all back together and now it fires every time again.

Yes - they can be tweaked to be quite reliable

I even used to take CVs on vacation
You guys got me motivated, and i just rebuilt the Profile on a Coppervape, tooks someone's advice and tried a coil instead of mesh. I always figured - it's designed for mesh, mesh is vaping good, why mess around?
But hey - it's GOOD. A little richer on the flavor, but the BIG diff is that the "stuff the fuck out of it with cotton" approach you take with mesh means you have to squonk LONG and HARD - and that's not so with the coil. So it's more easily saturated. So it's better, I think,.

I tossed in a (looks at jar) quad-core fused something, I got on clearance from Advanced Vape Supply, so it must be SS. 3mm, 0.3 ohms. Really nice!

I've blamed that on dropping mine. Though I suppose you do need to keep tending to the thing too. Having to tinker to get an aluminum one to fire. Even after swapping out the firing kit it's being a PITA. *reads* Hm, may need to find my ox-guard and lube this one up a little.

My brass one does fine. Had to pull the top off last night. Almost felt fused on. I used some Scotch brite type of cloth on it and cleaned it up some. thinking the brass sweats and gets a coating of gunk.

All in though I still like using the Coppervapes.

Go me. Took the metal fire bar out of tan Athena squonker. Cleaned him up and, lightly coated him with ox-guard, put him back in.

Everything still functions. I saw you can take down the 510 assembly as well. Did not go that far. I did clean the contact area though.

Starting to think the Athena has swooned me from the CVs. It is a nice form factor and seems a bit easier to maintain. <joking>Don't let Shenzhen tech overhear that, please. They might send Panda troopers to escort me to a re-education camp.</joking>

Also lightly coated the one CV with ox-guard. Helps some but is still hit and miss. I may not have crossed my eyes the correct way. Hm.

ETA: I'm afixin' to be fixing that CV, least hopefully.

In my neck of the woods, the reason would be, "you aren't holding your mouth right."

So keep that in mind, too. :teehee:

Hey, squonkerbonks, I have a question!

In case I forgot about one - can you think of some mechanical or mosfet squonks that you can buy right now, from a website? There aren't many new models, so there aren't that many around any more - most of my window-shopping is on Facebook. But someone might want to get me a mod as a present, and the only way they can handle it is if it's direct order from a website.

As an example - you can still buy a Boxer from Gingervape. And there's a selection at Vapinart (nothing calling my name though). :)

I'm gonna give them a list of mods I'd like but don't have...
Backup plan would be "same as last year, 2 bottles of fancy Scotch" lol.
