I would put my vote in for the crown over the starre. I have both. The crown has top notch machining and overall quality. IMO the flavor is better in the Crown and there has been alot of debate on that and why. I dug up my Starre and found some new starre .25 DVC coils that I had not used yet, so I installed it and used it for awhile. The Crown also has DVC coils so its a apples to apples comparison. Both tanks had .25 DVC coils in them and the Crown has more flavor. My only thought is that the Crown is using Stainless Steel wire while the Starre coils are Kanthal. That may the only reason why the flavor is more pronounced in the Crown. The Starre gets a slight edge in juice capacity with 5ml compared to the Crowns 4 ml. Either tank is a great atty to have in your selection but if I had to make a choice it would be the Crown due to the quality is higher than the Starre and the flavor is better. Both produce some incredible dense vapor and I couldnt tell you which is more because at some point huge is just too huge to measure. hahaha

Just my 2 cents worth.

ok you may have a very valid point with ss vs kanthal

so how do they compare when both are using stock ni200 coils

I just ordered some NI200 coils for the crown so I will be able to test them out later this week. The only NI200 coils I have been able to use in the Starre are the Atlantis VS coils. Those are single coils so it would not be a fair comparison. Dont get me wrong, the Starre does have amazing flavor using any coil configuration, and most anyone would be satisified using it, I just found the Crown to be a bit better in flavor production. If I had not stumbled onto the Crown, I would be very happy with the Starre. The Starre does have more airflow than the Crown. On my crown I have the airflow open almost all the way while the Starre is only open 25% if that helps.

im not trying to dismiss the crown
im sure it is a great tank. anything using DVC coils like a starre/maganus SHOULD produce great flavor. My issu eis
i have the original maganus and 2 stms

i dont think the stms do a very good job with TC. the maganus does. I want a second TC tank.

I could easily get a second maganus or the new maganus or either starre to suit that need.

My issue with that is
I have 2 TC mods that can do Ti
yet the only tanks I can build with are the STM and as I said I dont think it does good with TC, too many flaky resistance readings.
I know I cant get the segatank/anyvape rba deck, but not sure if that will do any better with TC then the stm rba deck as they look alot alike.

so the logical step would be to get the crown since it has it all, only issue there is single rba deck similar to the stm. what if a single coil can not keep up with the stock dvc coils? then that becomes pointless and then all i hav eis a tank like an stm that has prebuilt coils like the maganus.

so why not just skip that step and try out the tfv4 with prebuilt Ti coils
2 different prebuilt NI200 coils
and a single and dual rba deck

im just waiting for a good price from a usa vendor who has the full kit, single coils of the ni200 and ti, and the dual rba deck
all in stock at one place at a great price.

I hear ya man and agree that it doesnt make sense to get a similar tank to what you already have. I looked at the TFV4 as well but I am standing down only because of the few items that have already been talked about (coil costs, big power requirements, juice hog etc). I make my own juice so thats not a huge concern but still more than I want to tackel ATM.
The DVC coils are a great advancement in vaping and I am not sure what RBA deck would ever provide the outstanding vape that the DVC coils do. I will however say that I did a TI build on the Crown RBA deck at .3, and had it cranking around 4 volts and it was a great vape. If I venture out of the true sub ohm tanks and into RBA then my Billows dual coil is my go to but its strictly a rebuildable and the ability to use stock coils is gone. The TFV4 may be your best bet and I would be interested in seeing how you like it if you go that way. I will keep it on my radar because once my dual custom mod arrives, I may want to go into something like that once I see how the TC coils work in that tank

Its all good bro... Love the discussions we all have...

Hey @TheVapingDevil Is the crown worth it in comparison to our t-vct. How's the flavor compared to it?
Hey @StanM, you are going to hate me for this but compared to our T-VCT tank, the crown is the clear winner. I love the 6 ml capacity you get with the VCT but the flavor from the Crown and clouds are far better. Sorry for the bad news

It's not bad news bro. It's sitting in my cart, just wanted to check with you on the comparison first:p
Hahahahah, good deal. Not sure if your going for the black one or not but its bad ass looking. I found that with the dual coils, you really need to feed it some power before the flavor gets going. It doesnt really get going well until you are up above 50 watts. I just ordered the dual NI200 coils last night and am excited to see how those work but I have heard great things about them. The stock coils are SS and now I am hoping that the mod makers come up with a TC mod capable of doing SS because they kick some serious ass.

I knew I should have avoided this thread. You guys are costing me a mint. At least, on a side note, I won a Subox nano from kanger. So, it kinda evens out:p

well the coil cost may not be an issue
ive seen them for under $5 a piece of fasttech. so thats an option if i like it
bu that means competition will drive price down
the few places ive seen them in stock are 5 packs for about $30
so thats not horrible but could be better and thats what im hoping for
the juice hog issue should only apply to the 3,4,6 coils
the dual coil Ti and Ni coils should not be the same juice hogs

power requirement is also the same issue....3,4,6 coils need power but a dvc ti or ni should be the same as the maganus/starre

the main thing hgolding me back is cost at the moment even form fasttech
a complete kit th edual rba
2 ti
2 ni200
and
2 ni200 air coils is running about $67

i didnt pay that much for my d2 with a 25r

I saw the TFV4 kit on sale over the weekend for $29.75 shipped from the USA. I realize it only comes with 1 RBA deck and 2 heads. For that price I could live with having to buy the other stuff separately if I felt I really needed it.

Cheers,
Steve

i saw it at that price too but they didnt have the ni or ti or dual rba deck

so once you pay for shipping form multiple places etc I figure dill just wait a bit longe rtill more places in the USA have everything and then they run a special.

I'm tempted, but I see it doesn't come with a RBA. Does anybody know approximately how much the RBA is going for?

Thanks,
Steve

LOL no! I actually ordered one last week that is due to ship tomorrow (black), then I found a good deal this weekend on ebay for both the tank (silver) and rba - that one shipped early this morning. I've ordered one too many....
I can safely state that you cant have too many Crowns lololol. I am pondering ordering a few more but part of me is curious on the new RTA coming out (Chutula V2) but I find it hard to imagine anything providing better flavor than the Crown other than possibly the TFV4.

I've been postponing buying a new tank until I hear some feedback on the new Cthulhu V2. That's the one I've really been waiting for.
