I don't heat steep any of my juices since I wrecked a few juices a long time ago. I caramelized the sugars and they turned real dark fast along with a off taste and that was with a coffee maker thats set at 160 degrees so there isn't much of a window between heat steeping and burning your juice. I made myself a DIY magnetic mixer and it works great, the only heat I use is warming up my base a bit with hot water a bit to loosen the VG. I love the magnetic mixer, set a timer for a couple hours then walk away. I don't add the nic until after the first initial mixing of a couple hours then let it sit however long I think it needs then add the nic then remix slowly with as little air as possible. I only make 100mls at a time of any juice and found the 20mm stirbar works best, I also have a 10mm stirbar that I can mix in a 5-15ml jug, a 15mm stirbar I can mix in a 30-50ml jug. The 10, 15 and 20mm stirbars work just great for my mixing needs.
I should add if your planning on making a computer fan magnetic mixer then remove the fan blades. My mixer does spin faster without all the blades, you just score both sides of the blade and they will snap off then a bit of cosmetic scraping the leftover blade so its smooth.
