I have a question, possibly a dumb one. I'm wondering if anyone here has found a way to get fruit flavor odors from plastic bottles? When I started DIY I vaped fruits and have these kick ass 240ml bottles that I'd love to use again for my dessert flavors but the watermelon and other fruit flavors are over powering and I worry that will transfer.

I've tried a 3 day Dawn soak which definitely took some of it away but not enough. Should I just toss them, is it in the plastic for good?

It’s probably in the plastic for good.....I also have had that issue. Soaked for days in Dawn or vinegar and baking soda.....still the lingering mint, chocolate, fruit, whatever.

I use vodka. Takes the smell right out after soaking about an hour.
I use the cheap Smirnoff shit.
I hear Everclear works also

Switch from LDPE to HDPE PET and let it soak in a mixture of water and sodium percarbonate (white powdery substance that is widely used to clean beer brewing installations and cattle farms' drinking installations). LDPE gradually dissolves in alcohol, and also chemically reacts with a whole plethora of other substances (also including, but certainly not limited to, a great number of acidic substances) a lot of which yield harmful/toxic results when they react with LDPE. One example of liquid substance that does not chemically interact with LDPE is brine.

So each time when you see a person drink alcohol from an LDPE plastic cup, think Poison with a capital 'P'. Same deal if you put an LDPE food container in the microwave. It breaks down the plastic causing food/drink to be tainted as a result, even though you might not notice until years later when people get sick and then they still don't realize what caused sickness because it slowly accumulates, stealth-like. It would be truly malevolent to not warn people enough about the harmfulness that goes on when plastics are misused/mishandled. For the record, I'm not saying this because I want to patronize or attempt to be misleading. Rather, this is about not putting people's health at unnecessary risk. So be careful, and, be caring.

I undesrstand Smirnoff is made by name in various countries under licence. But varies by Countries too.
Here in Oz Smirnoff is rubbish. It seriously is sub standard crap. But I would believe in others it could be much better. Here its the cheapo Vodka. Its vile.
Dont get me wrong. I could understand elsewhere its great. But in OZ its the absolute cheapo crap. Your USA Skyy Vodka makes our Smirnoff taste like Metho.
Even if I heard you could run your car on it cheaper than petrol id avoid it.

Have not heard of sodium percarbonate
yet HAVE sodium metabisylphite
use to sanatize for wine.. bar sinks,, an da farmers use it.

Actually waiting on some FW Cinnamon Roll and FA Orange from Bull City. Should be here tomorrow.
Going to try to concoct a Cinnamon Roll/ Orange Glaze recipe.
Going to try and get the Glaze right first. Going to mix the Orange with LA CreamCheese Icing and go from there.
Touching up the FW Cinnamon Roll shouldn't be so tough.
What do you think @wildgypsy70 , Think it can work?

Juicy Lemon 0.5%

The more I try these SSA flavorings the more I am sold on them. I think the only 2 that have not worked for me were the Compote Cherry and the Juicy Cherry. ( will be sending those over to you @Pastorfuzz ) You might like them. but I am not a fan of any cherry out there. Other than those 2, so far all have been great.

Have you tried FA's Cinnamon Ceylon? That's some good stuff right there. It is a true "bakery" cinnamon. Well, for me anyway it tastes that way.

It could work! Smart to do the icing first cause you’re right.....FW Cinnamon Roll is pretty damn good by itself.

Try that first.....see where it gets you. You’ll probably need to add some cream or powdered sugar or something I’m not thinking of right now. Maybe some vanilla?

I did a mix of:

1% Caramel
.6% Sun Cookie

last week and now.. oh my!! I might add in some brulee, and maybe some cream.. it sure is a good nutty cookie!! and sweet!! Spot on perfect!!

I have a decent amount that I have been using that in, but there are other flavors as well. Are you looking for JUST vanilla custard? If so, I'd maybe do something simple like this

TFA Vanilla Custard II - 3%
FA Custard Premium - 2%
CAP Sugar Cookie -2%
TFA Vanilla Swirl -1% (or maybe go SSA or LB Vanilla Ice Cream for a richer creamier type custard instead of the vanilla swirl)

This turned out to excellent - thanks again!

I got the yoghurt drink and it has a slightly fizzy element to it. I was expecting something more yogurt like, but was pleasantly surprised with what it is. It's not quite a soda, but it definitely gives me a carbonated vibe.

I haven't mixed anything in quite a long time now, have been trying to use up some of the massive amount of stuff I'd already mixed.

Lately though, with all the super-cheap prices on pre-made liquid, I've bought a half dozen bottles or so from various places....which leads me to say that I'll soon need a good recipe for Cherry Lemonade and Golden Ticket. I have especially enjoyed those two flavors, plus Vice Cream and Ruth's Loot from Freeman. Ruth's Loot is very like my Quincy. Vice Cream is great, and it would take some doing to replicate it. Have to say, though, it's fantastic in the Nautilus GT I just got (great tank, by the way, unfortunately only uses factory coils, but I have a ton of them around here already so I'm good to go for a long time).

Anyone know how to rebuild Nauti factory coils? Ha! I can just see that, with my terrible eyesight!

One of the ones I bought is DL Lemon Tart. Gotta say, and hopefully without treading on anyone's toes, I don't see the fascination with this flavor. To me it tastes like FA Cookie, and some of you know how I feel about that.

this one also came out pretty good. it needs a week at least for the WF- Sugar cone to mellow out. That one gives me a strange taste right at the beginning but steeps out quite nicely.


I saw a mix on ATF that inspired me to make this though I think the only flavor they have in common is the crispy wafer, but it deserves an honorable mention even if I don't remember the name of that recipe

That was my experience as well. I’m very sensitive to yeast flavoring and that’s what I got from it. Also got the same from Lemon Cream Wafer.

Side note, I know I haven't been as active in here myself, but where have we all gone? Maybe we need some type of challenge to bring us back to life. I was thinking of trying to take my top 10 or so least used flavors and come up with a mix that can only use those 10 as potential ingredients or something along those lines.

Might not be too much - I have yet to mix a banana vape that has ENOUGH banana in it. I'm scared of overdoing it, and end up barely being able to taste the banana. I also find that the ones I've used fade quite a bit over a week or so.
