Sure they do. This is supposed to be news? My dog Valentine understood "go bye bye" and would pick up the car keyring and run to the car with it. He understood "outside?", and all sorts of words that were meaningful to him. There are those who will think it's terrible that he understood "ice cream" but he only got one scoop in a cup, and only when we went to Baskin Robbins. But when you said "ice cream" he wiggled all over and wagged his tail enough to cause a whirlwind. When my brother said "wanna go for a ride?" he would jump up on his spot on the dirt bike. Those were the days.
