Ya really can't go wrong with the Cylon. A couple years old now and still holds it's own in it's class. Even pretty good TC.

While I do like it, tubes seem a little awkward..
It took me a while watching youtube videos before I even figured out how they were fired. I remember looking at this guy with this copper tube in his mouth and wondering "how in the world is he activating that thing?" I didn't even know the button was on the bottom :D You don't exactly notice unless you already know that.

A while back a guy at the shop asked if he could try one of mine. I handed it to him and after looking it over for about 20 or 30 seconds he asked me the same question. "How do you work this thing?"

They do seem awkward at first, but it's second nature now. Even for the guy at the shop who doesn't even own a tube. He got used to it just using mine.

EDIT: BTW, I know YOU know how they work. I was just commenting on how different they are than regulated mods or even box mechs.

Well I experienced first hand what can happen if you are not careful.
I wasn't going to post this but the more I thought about it I decided to as a reminder to every one out there.
This was completely user error, no fault of the equipment in any way.
This is what can happen if you put a battery in backwards in a dual 21700 parallel mech mod.
No one was hurt just the mod and my pride.
Don't assume anything! If you get a mod, new or used and you are not 100% sure which way the batteries go in...
ASK SOMEONE!

That must of been one helluva heart throbbing 2 seconds when you dead shorted the batteries and the firecrackers started going off.

my parents were WW2 generation, so I don't let anything go to waste because that's how I was raised, but the Jam Monster is kind of wrong. For one the blueberry version I have tastes like grape. I don't get any toast from it. Vaping grape jelly is kind of weird. My 14 year old hates it and talks mad shit when he smells it in the house lol

Thanks, I won’t try it then. I’m not crazy for grape jelly, anyway. Is your kid curious about vaping at all?

No exaggeration...
It was like a Roman Candle, spinning around and shooting flame about 4 inches like a road flare!
I grabbed the first thing close, which happened to be a pet bed to try and stop it. I grabbed everthing and headed for the back door. Sadly, that pet bed lit up like it was soaked in gasoline! But the time I got to the back door it was almost completely engulfed in flames.
The house filled with smoke and the smoke alarm blaring. This was at 2am!
It was very scary.

Didn't hit the fire button, it went off immediately!

That would of happened the moment he closed the loop (door)

Imagine how “exciting” things got the moment that door was secured.

Fucking hot potato

The mod doesn't have a door, it has two screw in caps, so once you make that lasts connection is over!

BTW, you're not allowed to blow yourself up without letting us know first alright. :wait:

Yes, that is what I done, positive up on one and down on the other.

The strange thing about it is that when I got it that's the way I put the batteries in it and I vaped on it all day that way.
When I swapped the batteries and put the ones I took out of it on the charger one of them read zero and would not take a charge.

Please don't think I'm trying to pry into your misfortune with these questions. I just want to make sure I have a grasp of the situation for educational purposes.

You weren't firing it when it failed I assume? If my meager understanding is correct, just installing batteries in a series orientation into a parallel device is already a hard short just sitting there. Even if there is no atomizer. The circuit is closed. If that's the case then you probably stuck the batteries in and set it down and then it went off shortly after.

Again, thank God nobody was hurt and lesson learned I'm sure.

I don't know if the circuit would be complete without the atomizer, I guess that would depend on whether or not the end of the battery at the RDA side could contact the metal. I did have an RDA on it.
But no, I didn't set it down, the second the last battery made connection it went off.
Even if there would have been a way to open the circuit it wouldn't have mattered.

So glad you are ok, think I would have had a heart attack. Nothing but good from your posts. We all know the inherent risks we are taking daily, and a great reminder of all the precautions we need to take. Idk about the mod you are talking about, but for a guy that knows what he is doing, but doesn't fully understand all things and how they work, sure wish every mod would label battery orientation. I mean how hard is a couple of +'s and -'s? Although I should know, I have had to ask a member here many times with many mods how to install the batteries. I usually am right and get it, but so thankful for his knowledge and to have access to it. Also thankful for other memebers through trade, who take the time and effort to give me a reminder ;) Seems like a good time to say thanks @Mrspivey
1584674766821183377217.jpg

And a massive thank you to @shawn.hoefer , who's seemingly endless knowledge has helped me a million different times, and probably kept me from doing countless bad things with batteries.

The circuit was complete when you screwed the cap on... even without an atty... RDA never got hit with power since the switch wasnt activated to close the circuit.

Again, glad you're ok... minus some underwear fudge and smoked out alarms

That's what I was thinking because in parallel you have the 2 positives connected together and the 2 negatives connected together, but the positives and negatives are not connected together until the switch closes the circuit.

If you flip one of those over, you have an already closed circuit. Positive to negative to positive and so on.

camberass thinks anyone who buys clones is a pos.

so, to everyone out there, if you have a clone , camberass thinks your a pos. food for thought.
Anyone who has been reading my posts about clones already knows this is just a flagrant lie. If you are so strapped for cash that the difference is between vaping or smoking, then get a clone. Else, consider the fact that a lot of the people who design authentics are in need of our support, and when talking about the price gap between a clone and its authentic counterpart, don't be a dick, especially not when the issue at hand is very clearly about plagiarized artwork. Which, in this particular instance, it is. Dick.

i have not read any of your posts about clones, other than the issue at hand. but i have been told that you DON'T like clones, and are not afraid to say it. just what i have been told.

its not about what i have to spend, its about prioritizing. starting off on the low end and seeing how i like it. then if i see fit, i upgrade. and "vape" vs "living needs".

i understand your "support" arguement.

"price gap" i wasn't being a dick, i was being factual. you just took it the wrong way, it seems. there is a obvious reason for the price gap, its call "quality"

plagiarizing, it sure is, to the much lower level that is it is. but you know what, i didn't make this world, i just live in it.

i will ignore that

Whether you heard a rumor or not is irrelevant. The fact you deemed it necessary to spread outright lies about another person says more about you than it says about me. Also, yes of course it's about prioritizing. Specifically, it's about prioritizing an abundently clear case of plagiarism showing zero respect for yet another person, the artist who created the hand engraved piece of art and who gave explicit permission to let the mod manufacturer in question make highly detailed CNC machined copies of this art. This is me being factual on why you are a dick. There's just no possible excuse, no matter how much you try to downplay. And you know what, I didn't make you a dick, I just pointed out the obvious truth about why you are a dick. Enough said.
