The body on this was a rough finish, semi-transparent.
I spent hours hand sanding an polishing the raised areas. It's not as pronounced in the photos as it is in person. I came out really nice I think.

That looks seriously awesome! The color of the Unicorn RDA matches perfectly too. How many of those did you wind up with? I'm seeing them n a number of your pix lately.

The Unicorn RDAs?
I think I have 5 our 6, they are awesome RDAs and the deal they had on them was pretty hard to beat.

Still some of the best damn mechs I own, even though the workmanship on them (threads and all) are a hot fucking mess. They work, they hit decently hard, and they use 21700s. I wish I could trust the bottom contact threads, I'd order the silver contacts for them, since they seem to be or appear to be compatible (same as) the Rig Mod v3.

Maybe after this shit passes, I'll open my own business and machine shop and make shit.

I did buy this one for the 'Cant be a pussy your whole life' button. And 'Murica and all...

Granted, now this kung flu shits going on, maybe we can get more 'Murica devices.

Mine doesn't have any problems with the screw threads on the firing contact... in fact it doesn't have any problems at all. Unlike my three Kennedy Vindicator 21700 mods, it has no crunchy button, no matter what side of the disc gets pressed, and, that curve near the bottom of the tube makes it even more comfortable to hold in comparison. It also hits harder as a bonus. Granted, it does have a bit of arcing and there's no constant contact button to be had, but the fact it has the "you can't be a pussy your whole life" etching on the tube itself naturally made me cave. :p

Oh no, your not getting off that easy, and hold your forgiveness :D You have the one on the left correct? One I posted, on the right is the Mech, not the regulated 86

Oh well, I have the regulated one. But I like it a lot. And I can’t blow it up! The Nanos rock, too. They feel really sturdy. I’ll still give you milk and a bagel, though.

Yeah, I had sent both of mine in to get shit unstuck from them - as they came that way. On my MO VERSION, the bottom pin was stuck in the switch, and on my copper one, the top disc was stuck on.

When I got them back (which they said they were sending me tools as well), they had gouged a nice chunk out of the copper tube, but the top disc was able to come off. And the bottom contact is all marred from them trying to remove it. As much as I love vapeAMP if that's how they fix issues now, I'd rather not do business with them anymore.

The mods still hit like freight trains though so I'm happy. But those were my issues.

After I got them back, I dismantled them, cleaned them up, greased the threads, and reassembled them. I packaged my copper tube up and put it away, I use my MO version constantly. It's my workplace mech. Then again, vapeAMP mechs are mostly my workplace mechs. They're durable as fuck, hefty, and they just work.

I did notice on my MO version, the bottom pin seems to have a hard time threading in once it gets so far down, meaning the machining of the threads was off by quite a bit, or when they tightened the first pin in, they chewed the threads of the button all to hell. Plus the discs on both of mine thread a good way into the body of the tube itself, meaning I need a 25mm atty or one hell of a positive pin if I want to keep my top cap on.

However, I know after a year or so, I'd want something else. And that's why I'm looking into either the God Mod or a Purge Mods mech.

Word is that MMXX by Purge Mods is supposed to be sweet as tits.

But I was also looking at a Glas Phantom LG or something like that.

I'm not a fan of the constant contact button by Purge Mods. The button throw on them feels smooth, but certainly not "sweet" (for lack of a better word). Their traditional buttons, after you upgrade them with both the heavy version of the solid silver spring upgrade and the solid silver firing pin upgrade, are loads better IMO. So are their side firing models after you upgrade them with the matching solid silver firing cup. I own and have compared each and every one of all of these various different options BTW. Granted, the only constant contact button I have from Purge Mods is that of my OG Skull & Shield blood splatter, which uses a disc and that I'm sure makes it a different type of constant contact button after all, but I'm not willing to bet my money that this is what makes it enough of an improvement over the non constant contact ones for it to be worth getting. I mean... I already own more Purge Mods than anyone else in my whole country, and I don't like the aesthetics of the MMXX as much as I like even my least attractive looking one. :giggle:

This kit is 2 years old now and still kickin. The X-Priv with the Prince and the RBA head. I let somebody borrow this mod for a few weeks about a year ago. This is one of those people where I kissed the mod goodbye and fully expected to never get it back in working order. You know the type. Broken phones and stuff all the time. It came back all scratched up and beat up, but still works fine :D The puff counter has never been reset. It rolled over.

Also, I learned a GREAT simple secret for building on this RBA. I'll take that somewhere else though.

NICE. though, i am disappointed with those cut lines in the stab. are you going to do anything about that ? how do you feel about the machine marks in the ultem ?

I will probably micromesh and buff the door at some point. The ultem is fine just the way it is. I have a couple bronze wristwatches from a guy in Berlin who hand turns the cases on a lathe, no cnc. They have tooling marks. I like that. The outside of the box looks like it was given a brushed finish with some scotch brite. I'm fine with that also. After time goes by and I've put some superficial scratches in the box I can carefully clean it up with scotchbrite and it'll look like new again.

I actually really like this box. I think I still want to get an SQ, but after opening this one up today I have zero buyer's remorse.

i have a better and more efficient way to do it. that door could be pimp with a little effort. i'm jealous. how much, if any, does the door stick out from the box ?

do yourself a favor = never stop believing that.

that is called "engine turning" or "jeweling" or who knows what else.

get a magnifying glass and look at the box finish real good. it has lines in it. take a straight edge to the back, tell me what you see.
what do you think about the sharp edges ?

I hadn’t noticed those. You’re such an expert now on stab!

Those watches sound cool. I collected watches from the 30’s and 40’s for a while. But it was very expensive!

I have 5 Rig mods and have had several others and I've never had any issues with any of the threads and I've never had one that had a crunchy button.
My Rig mods are among my favorites.

Hiya and welcome.
I have a One on the way. I'm more of an 810'er, looks like you have a 510 on it. How do you rate the overall performance?

In all honesty, I don't really like it, and I'm pretty bummed about that. It's such a sexy RTA, but I'm a MTL guy, and this thing is super airy, even with the AFC shut all the way off. I just got it earlier this week, so I haven't had too much time to play with it, but so far, while it's really nice, it's not for me.

Might want to have a peek at the Steam Crave Aromamizer Lite :) ( shameless plug ) honestly though, others can confirm that it is a damn fine MTL tank or you can open it up a bit. They also have the Glaz Mini which is a real MTL also a good one. Welcome welcome, glad to have you aboard. Best forum ever IMO
