I got mech mods that go to 500W and above. [it's understandable that many people wouldn't want to vape at 300w plus, but please don't let the fact that you are one of them make you think that nobody else should either. Not being a common power range you simply didn't build for it properly, that's all.]

If the vape is too hot, then [what's needed is an] increase [in] the total surface area of your coils, so use thin wire sizes with complex coil types that are [ ] well known to keep sucking juice out of the cotton wicks at a MUCH faster rate than simple coil builds, and, [also, this could be an occasion for an increased knowledge of airflow, especially at that wattage range]

... the most common mistake is to assume that the airflow needs to be wide open for this, when the reality is that having the right amount of restrictiveness going on is paramount. Violent spitback is primarily associated with using the wrong coil types in addition to choosing relatively thicker wire sizes to build them with. Now, for reasons that [have become obvious to me with experience], if you're going to let 'er seriously rip, then [you need to consider a much larger] RDA and [a much larger build] inside, [Hopefully, this has helped in understanding why you had the negative experience you had with such a high power setup:) ]

Here's a pic of my Vaperz Cloud Valhalla Hells Gate Edition RDA, which is 38mm.

Forgive me. I took the presumptuous and arrogant liberty of editing your post..

I do bet though if you had written it more like this, it would have been much more helpful and gotten a bunch of likes too

If you think my post was presumptous and arrogant, that's because... well, it is. As for the reason why I decided to be presumptuous and arrogant, it's because the post to which I replied is... well, presumptuous and arrogant, visibly so, as it is flaming high wattage vapers with the old and tired stigma of "ALL THE POWAH!" so, what can be learned from this is that a post doesn't necessarily always need a lot of likes to still be truthful and therefore helpful to those who are interested in truths. :p

Maybe you should have responded to my post. It would have been much better.

I guess I shouldn't say how I run my intricate builds though, fuck. Might get criticized for that too.

*Rant*

Seriously though... Most of the people I speak to are newbies. Now, with that in mind, I answer a lot of questions. I answer as clearly as possible and I answer from personal experience. Of course, you're always going to have that one asshat that says "newbie, just throw a .00001 ohm load on that car battery, it'll be fine!" And they'll do it.

So despite what Carambrda says, they tend to say it in a condescending and pompous manner, and what does that do? It gets people hurt, or has people doing dumb shit... And for what? "BECAUSE THEY CAN!..."

*End Rant*

The point of my post was to be funny, and at the same time, give feedback as to why I don't run my shit that way. Period. I been there, done it, don't like it, won't do it again, nuff said.

yeah, you had the wrong build in there.
Possibly. Regular round wire 20AWG I think. Been a couple months. LOL! I'd try it again, but nahhhh.

It's not the way I choose to vape stuff. I like warm, but I value battery life over stuff like that. I'm not crazy about fused, stapled, framed, chef boyardee coils either. Yeah they look neat, and can be pretty damn resilient, but for me, simplicity is fine too.

If I were to rock an exotic build, it would be in series and likely wouldn't be used very often.

nah, it was the build, bro. put 2 16g 20 wrap 5mm's in there and it would tame it down a lot. i have 3 big'ish aliens in a VV triple that i run at 175'ish watts and its just fine, i bet you would like it. battery life, fair enough, but sometimes, let er rip !

i don't know exactly what that means. but i am eagerly waiting. i have a few coming in this week also.
Yeah only thing that ain't gonna make it today are my magnets and my batteries.

Batteries probably for obvious reasons... But my magnets... Not sure what's holding them up.

I say it how I say it because how I say it is how it is. That is, eventually I might start to say it differently if enough people keep really insisting on that they want to be fooled by me. Then again, actually I might not. :blech:

My point was that if you adjusted the way you talk to people your information would be more readily received and it might make you more popular here. I personally would like to see that happen. Some people say that they don't care about being popular, especially on an internet forum. Bull. Everybody cares what others think of them. Including myself.

The same as with my previous post to you, it's not about this or that particular discussion, person or point . It's about your overall tone and demeanor in your interactions with other members of this forum. I was just using those as examples.

My talking this way could be perceived as presumptuous and arrogant. Maybe even not just by you. I understand that. It was a genuine preemptive apology on my part in that regard.

Once again. Please take this post for what it may be worth, if anything, and only with the best of friendly intentions.

It's the total surface area of the coil build in cohort with the juice adsorption rate resulting from the numerous tiny cavities and crevasses, in cohort with the kind of airflow that is both powerful enough and focused enough that it slams straight into the coils─if the coil positioning also is in line with that. Restrictiveness drives up air speed at the sacrifice of the amount, or volume of air that is set in motion... the ideal combination of both of these two factors in cohort with the strength of your draw is what keeps the coil temperature from rising too high. Cold air blowing directly and steadily onto the hot surface itself does. But so does the flow of juice travelling from the cotton into the coils, as the evaporation rate may start to suffer during the pull if the wicking capacity, or adsorption rate of the actual coils themselves can't keep up with the rate at which juice is evaporated by them. So if this happens during the pull, the end result will be reminiscent of a dry hit. The importance of the high adsorption rate of the coils is magnified by the fact the evaporation process also transfers heat away from the wet surface of these same coils. It means that, typically in high wattage vaping, the cold air alone does not suffice to keep the coil temperature in check. Instead, the heat transfer resulting from the evaporation process needs to work in tandem with the heat transfer resulting from cold air blowing stably onto, and over, the whole surface fairly evenly, and blowing in such a particular way that it doesn't create too much unwanted turbulence that would essentually just end up ruining the effect of evenness.

In addition, the distance between the air mounds and the coils also plays a part, as does the number of air mounds, their position versus each other, and their individual sizes also. That's why some RDAs, such as the 30mm Asgard RDA, for example, use a clever combination of both "honeycomb" type airflow and an insert the purpose of which is to reduce the aforementioned distance in order to keep the flow focussed enough onto the coils and still be able to move more air. Whereas the Valhalla RDA relies on a different airflow technique that also makes use of the so-called Coandă effect (explained in this article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coandă_effect#Mechanism ), with the larger one of the four air mounds on each coil creating the largest of low pressure zones thus causing the three smaller jets to devitate towards it, merging with it in such a way that it improves airflow stability on the downwind side of the coil while at the same time also pushing enough air more sideways just before impact, i.e. to cover the whole length of the coil. This isn't about chasing clouds. Rather, it has been designed specifically for high wattage flavor chasing, which some (or a lot of) vapers say doesn't exist, as they keep firmly believing that high wattage vaping is quite simply the antithesis of flavor chasing. Such is their obvious mistake about that.

I don't come here to gain social status or become popular, and I don't really care if a lot of people don't like my sarcasm. Donald Trump is choc full of presumptuousness, and you can ask people in New York how THEY feel about that right now so, again, it all simply depends on whether you want to be fooled with arrogance, or whether you prefer to learn the painful truth that is still nevertheless painful in spite of the fact there is a saying, that the truth always hurts.

 This is a great post. Whether people want to think this technically about vaping or not is up to them, but either way, this is a great post with great information. Some of which I have actually thought about myself. I LOVE this kinda stuff.

There is not a hint of condescending snark or sneering self superiority in here. Those who are interested can make great use of this information. I hope it continues.

My point has been that so many who've been around here a while, have long ago written you off as an over-abrasive self exalting snob, that even those who may be interested and might benefit from it won't even read it. That is YOUR fault my friend. What sense does it make to type all that and not care if anybody reads it? As I've said, You're a smart guy. Surely you understand that.

Once yet again. For what it's worth, if anything, with only the best of friendly intentions.

One thing that ALOT of folks forget in their interactions online is that pixels are people. On the other side of this screen from me are real live people. Like me. They have an entire life going on that I don't know a thing about beyond the text on this screen. Words can reach far deeper into somebody than any sticks or stones. I strive to treat them as if they were sitting across a table from me, assuming nothing about them that I don't know.

Although true story... my Brother in Law, who is from QueerBec... stuck up frenchie... he had no idea what tacos were the first time he had them... my sis made some, set plates down in front of us all... and he just looked at them as if the fixins were all roaches LOL... I would of loved to have video of the moment... He got all Frenchie pissed about it too, cause we teased him... Then as soon as he took a bite, fat bastard ate 12 lol

The white Katana and the single coil Manta RTA. This is a really great little mod. I never even really paid much attention to them until @Countrypami pointed out the giveaway sale at vapesourciung I think it was.

@nadalama
After pulling the coil down some and letting the cotton break in, the flavor with this tank is alot better. Quite good actually. I still think I can get more out of it though.

i have made 2 somewhat pathetic sticks (a stick is a coil before its wrapped into a coil). but i have a bunch of wire in the mail. i am going to make a serious attempt at making claptons/etc. running series basically mandates it.
