I will admit the general idea I'm putting forth is biased. I'm a Registered Dietitian, so I'm always dealing with weight issues, and seeking new and innovative ways to curb overeating and promoting satiety.
So that said, vaping seems like a natural fit, especially for those who crave sweets. Instead of sucking down a family size bag of M&Ms, why not puff on a similarly flavored vape? No need for nicotine... just the general pleasure of calorie-free flavor combined with having something in your hand that isn't food.
Of course, it would be illegal for me to actually recommend this to anyone professionally... we RDs gotta stick with what's been scientifically proven, or at least scientifically suggested. But talk about an area for future scientific study!
Unfortunately, my experience has revealed the same pattern over and over again, that pattern being genetics. If a patient of mine is overweight, usually their whole family is/was. And if they're thin, same thing... But maybe a vape a day instead of a bag of chips could be a weight loss aide? Combined with an improved diet and some physical activity, of course.
