Hey all! I wasn't sure where to post this as it's really just me rambling about how much I love the Vaporesso Gen.
I had seen some reviews for the Gen online which intrigued me about it especially when reviewers mentioned Pulse mode, & particularly the feel of the mod. After some searching, last week I found a great deal online that I couldn't pass up ($32 + shipping). So finally, after some hemming and hawing, I decided to finally order the black one, mod only. At that price I figured it was a small risk, & boy did it pay off.
I'll start by simply saying that Vaporesso, you've outdone yourself on the Gen. Seeing it first-hand, I was shocked at how gorgeous the thing is. It's so sleek & sexy. The feel of the grip is out of this world. It's this golf ball type dimpled surface with a pleasant, almost rubbery feel that's difficult to describe in the best way. Once you feel it for yourself, you'll probably be like me - practically unable to put it down. It's such a smooth, soft, & grippy feeling that I've never experienced before. The mod also fits perfectly in my hand, & is surprisingly lightweight. Wonderful.
Not only is it beautiful, but vaping in Pulse mode is a treat. I love it. The Axon chip fires extremely fast & the vape experience is fantastic. I have a matching black Profile Unity RTA sitting on it, & together they equal heaven. When I installed the atomizer I could hear the short pulse fire the mod does to scan the atomizer, which is new & impressive. I also love the ease with which you can navigate the menus, & I like that it has a dedicated menu button.
Speaking of the menu & its features, I can't wait to try Power Eco mode. I'm always worried about battery life when I'm out & about, & that is a great insurance policy to have built in. Having the battery percentage listed is a plus in my book, because I don't like relying on just a graphic to determine my remaining battery level. When I eventually try TC it'll also likely be on this mod because of Smart TC.
The battery door is probably the most tightly fit I've ever seen for this magnetic plate style. It doesn't budge in the slightest even if you try. Other companies would do well to emulate this craftsmanship on their future battery doors, because no one likes anything rattling on a mod.
I've been generally moving toward single 21700 mods lately, most recently purchasing a Vandy Vape Jackaroo. I absolutely love the Jackaroo, & I think it's a strong contender for Mod of the Year. So the Gen was a departure from my recent buying trend, but I cannot overstate how happy I am that I bought it. I don't see myself using any other dual 18650 mod for a while because I can't keep my hands off this thing.
Anyway, I realize I'm gushing here, but I really am that impressed with the Gen.
I have heard of some people having problems with (at least on the sample/review units) loose 510 connections & discoloration where the atomizer sits atop the mod, but I haven't experienced either of those issues or anything else to put me off of this device. I realize I just got the thing so there's always a chance something unforeseen will happen. If so, I'll update everyone here.
If you're reading this, trying to decide whether or not to buy a Gen, please do yourself a favor & get one. You won't be disappointed; at least I'm not! Thank you, Vaporesso, for creating what in my opinion is Mod of the Year in 2019! And that's saying a lot because, as I mentioned previously, there have been some other really nice ones released this year!
Anyway, I'm off to vape on my Gen again & feel its sexy body in my hands!
