Clouds and vapor rarely match up well. My best flavor RDA is an APO. My Twisted Messes has great clouds - now both RDAs will give me clouds and taste but they are not equal measure. All my RDAs have dual claptons, BTW. Ease of build is important. The Velocity is nice to build on for sure. I have a Mutation x that is an easy build deck too but again - great clouds not as much flavor.
I cannot say that I think it is all down to build. Certainly the build helps but how the RDA is designed certainly influences both cloud and flavor. Some pure flavor RDAs I simply hate - too small and constricted. I don't like the Troll, the Sapor or the Freakshow (notice who makes them all). I'm not a big fan of some of the RDAs I see metioned here at all. Others I really like.
Right now I'm vaping on a Colonial with a Twisted Messes. Now thw Twisted has a long pole so it does not sit perfectly flush. I also put a 13th Heavens ring on the Twisted deck - gives me better flavor.
Yup Derringer. It's where it's at for flavor. Combine with temp control, flavor heaven. The smaller the chamber and the more direct the airflow on the coils, the better the flavor. Derringer is best flavor I have but is a warmer, spittier vape, sapor is next and then velocity....not that I don't have rdas with similar flavor as velocity, but with the adjustability of airflow and ease of build it puts near the top. Sapor is easy to build (slighty less than velocity) and is for a lazy vapor like me. Derringer a slight pain to build, and not as easy to drip.
Steam crave is a manufacturer with several attys, a little specificty is required. The rda looks interesting, but am a lazy vapor and prefer to drip through the tip, the anti spitback design would hinder this. I'm pretty content with the sapor, and haven't seen anything that sparks my interest lately. I might pick up a velocity mini, and would like to see a mini sapor get made.
I'm pretty sure the design concept was a flavor chaser. Clouds aside, you like yours? Is it an easy build?Steam crave sort of missed the mark w rda (as airflow is too tight for great clouds) but flavor IS good.
I love my staged heating coil using alien and nichrome80 on my velocity
I've got a couple of those, different versions. Cheap little atties but they work very nicely. I set mine up with a dual coil KA1 Clapton build and they have nice flavor and vapor production. Can't argue for the cost. Cheap insulators though, low wattage/medium resistance builds for sure.I picked up an Infinite CLT V3 the other day. It has great airflow & taste. It might actually be better than my velocity clone. If you can pick it up cheap, I would recommend it. I picked up an authentic at my vape shop for $9.99

I'm in the minority on this but, I bought two velocity clones to test the design before getting an authentic; and, was not overly impressed. Not that its bad by any means, neither lasted long enough for me to be able to really make a judgement call for myself
Both (tobeco and no-name) the threads on both posts stripped out after the second build. Are the authentic any better? .
The screws didn't strip out the threads inside the posts stripped out,.Since everybody has had problems with the post screws stripping, I was very careful to find an Allen key that was actually the right size for the screws. Apparently even the authentics come with the wrong size Allen key. You can get replacement slotted post screws from the folks who handle the authentics.
Oh! Snap! That blows chunks. So far mine are holding up. While I love the ease of build it's not the best thing since spooled Nichrome. But a nice cheap cloned atty. The screws didn't strip out the threads inside the posts stripped out,.
I guess the few builds yes, I'm trying to figure out how well made the authentic is and if its worth the investmentOh! Snap! That blows chunks. So far mine are holding up. While I love the ease of build it's not the best thing since spooled Nichrome. But a nice cheap cloned atty.
Folks who got the authentic had the EXACT SAME PROBLEMI guess the few builds yes, I'm trying to figure out how well made the authentic is and if its worth the investment
