Well, OK... we can always use another barn cat to keep the mice and rabbit population under control...
I find the catnip issue very funny because we have that stuff growing wild around here in huge bunches and all the cats ignore it.
I never understood the point of giving a cat catnip. Why purposely get them high?
Maybe they are smarter than we give them credit for... I live a zillion miles out in the country and I saw this tall weed growing in the ditch a few miles down the road. I recognized it because 30+ years ago, someone I knew used to grow it in a closet. Never used it myself... no desire whatsoever. Apparently all the neighboring ranchers also ignored this plant because it just kept being there (I suspect winter finally killed it). I told a city friend about it because I thought it was terribly funny. He said, from my description, it probably had a "street value" of about $2,000. Maybe all the cats here have the same attitude I do. Why bother... ?
