Biscuit, the newest rescue kitty, is starting to get quite a belly on her. Sigh, I think we may be having kittens soon. We were getting ready to make her an appt to get spayed but decided we would wait and see if it is kitties or just that she is being a piggy at the food bowl. Which is possible, as we do free feed the kitty's their dry food.

4 new babies! One white, one black, one grey and one dark tabby. Biscuit has turned out to be a great Mommy even though she is young.

I didn't realize she was pregnant when I rescued her, but I wasn't about to abort fur-babies, so here we are, 4 new beautiful little souls. I know I will be keeping the white kitty and I may keep the grey one too! If I can't find good homes for the other twp, well they will be joining the pack then. :)

I have some sad news. As some of you know, I rescue the strays in the area I live. Dogs and cats. Well, I went to visit my daughter and grandson in Arizona and 3 nights ago while my MIL was sleeping one of my rescue pups went after and attacked my little Meko kittie. My MIL tried to get to them as quickly as she could. Apparently one of the other rescue pups joined in and they had Meko backed into a corner. My MIL took Meko to our vet as soon as he opened. Meko had a fractured rib and a fractured shoulder. My Vet wanted to keep her for a few days as Meko was not eating on her own. Her had her semi-sedated and was giving her something for pain. She seemed to be doing well and he was ready to send her home and she passed away.

I am so brokenhearted, especially since I was not there with her. Now, I have had these 2 rescue pups for almost a year and they have never shown any aggression towards my kitties So I have no clue why this happened. I have so many questions to which I know I will never have the answers to.

My MIL has said that one of the rescue pups ( Ana ) also tried to go after another kitty last night but this time my GSD stepped in and helped my MIL stop Ana. Right now all the kitties are in my master bedroom so they are safe. I have some hard decisions to make when I get home. I can not have a dog that goes after my kitties. I just can't. I hate the thought of taking them to a shelter but I may have no choice. I am a patreon of Lee Asher's rescue sanctuary ( The Asher House) and it is possible he will take Ana and possibly Roger.

All I know is that I am so very sad that I have lost my little Meko. She was one of my first rescues and I have had her since she was a kitten. She was going on 11 years old. Fly high my little girl and know that Mama will miss you so very much.

I am so sorry to hear this, Deb. It is heartbreaking to lose a beloved pet. Big hugs for you.
Thank you Misswish. I have had pets pass after they lived out their lives, but never one due to any type of accident. Especially not of this nature. I keep telling myself, as do my friends and family, that yes this was very heartbreaking but to remember that Little Meko had a good long life and that the Vet did have her sedated and she was not in any pain. I have to keep reminding myself of this when I start to break down and cry. I love all my rescues but Meko was so very special to me. Anyone ( if they are being honest) have their favorites and Meko was one of mine.

Cats are a little more mysterious (as cats tend to be 😼), but the research here is encouraging too.
Here's something most people don't realize: an estimated 90% of cats over the age of 12 deal with some form of joint discomfort.
But turmeric’s gentle, anti-inflammatory, calming properties have been shown in studies to help support comfort and mobility — without some of the harder-on-the-kidneys side effects that certain medications can carry over time.

🔬 One study even looked at turmeric in overweight cats and found it helped support a healthier inflammatory balance in their bodies.
Here's the catch though (and why it matters so much)…
There's one thing nearly every one of these studies agrees on:

Turmeric is notoriously hard to absorb.
In its raw, natural form, most of it slips right through the body — pet or human — before it can do much of anything.
