That's what I love about DIY. When I tried a new store bought juice that sucked I was out, at minimum, $10. How did you like the flavors from DIY Flavor Shack?

Oh the joys of traveling for business! Well, not always bad I suppose but I have young kids so I never really like leaving.

Got my vape mail. Mixed the 2 flavors I bought to cut nic level. Loaded up a couple of 30 ml bottles halfway. On my way to town with the wife. Enjoying some peanut butter custard in one mod and white chocolate peanut butter in the other.

Found a blue Kaos on sale at Breazy for $31.50 with coupon code, and the shinyitus kicked in. Wasn't looking for a Sigelei but for $30 bucks I can use a beater mod. Of course I decided to try the blueberry Jam Monster, and picked up a 2 pack of Sony VTC5A's for the new mod.

Might have preferred the Speeder but being new it is twice the price.

I fully intended to slap some coils on my RDA wick it up and hopefully get it all right. Instead I worked on getting my office and bedroom set up because I'm going to night shift tomorrow. Then I mowed the yard and sprayed Roundup to keep from weed eating for awhile. Got done with that took a shower and am sitting in my recliner vaping some peanut butter custard. What I did find out today is if you eat 5 or 6 drops of this on your food it will open up your taste buds to seriously enjoy your vape afterwards.

Vape related in a roundabout way. My mom made me a cake for my bday yesterday and covered it with nearly 40 individual candles (ugh). Did something I don't think I could have done a year or two ago - blew them all out in a single go with air left over and didn't cough or choke. Major accomplishment compared to my horrible spastic coughing when I smoked. Sometimes it's the small things but was a big win for me. Awesome to be able to recover like that after over 20yrs of smoking.

after nearly 4 years of vaping...I finally broke down and ordered my first squonk box.
You can't go wrong IMO. I def prefer it to dripping. What did you order?

I ordered a bunch of stuff I don't even know if I'll like. Some other stuff I don't know if I'll even use. A couple things just to try out. And pre-ordered a Dead Rabbit just cause. Vaped about 40ml of juice out of my Lost Vape Drone. Stood on the front steps and took this picture...

So, all in all, a pretty good day.

Perused VU.... soaked and attempted to change o rings on my Kanger sub tank(good and stuck....still soaking). Read some old threads and convinced myself that I needed a purple Hexohm. Because I need another mod(not!).

Ordered it. Waiting......

I ordered some clones..the hadaly, the wasp nano and the mulciber., and I got a Wraith 80W....actually I'm not a big fan of cotton I vape almost exclusively on ss mesh in gennys, but I got some ideas of modding some attys to be more ss mesh friendly, and I'm looking for a no tank from nonamae which was a squonking atty designed to be used with mesh wicks...it's a work in progress.

Made 70mls of juice for a co-worker; mint chocolate chip ice cream, forest milk and grack juice.
Then made a 10ml test of FW green apple and a 10ml of a strawberry airhead recipe.
green apple was good, strawberry airhead was bad. Ended up making a 30ml of the green apple.

also rewicked my griffin. I still haven't broke out my merlin rdta. i need to do that soon

Today I received vape mail (three eliquids and a five-pack of Smok Big Baby Beast T6 sextuple coil heads) and then replaced my used factory coils with my new T6 coil head (BBB) and V8-X4 coil head (Cloud Beast). I've tried two of the eliquids so far and have one left to try. So far all of my vape mail is a win! :bliss:

Today I have also been thinking about getting a Zenith and an RTA to go with it. For the price I couldn't imagine getting a better deal on any high-wattage mod. Any thoughts by owners of the Zenith?

Got my flavors! Set to mixing up a few juices that needed what was in that package. Still waiting on some drip tips, tanks and that Hexohm. Started a new flavors list. Probably will order tonight.....

Welp today...

I maliciously refreshed one tracking message because I thought just maybe it'll be out for delivery today but I was wrong it's coming tomorrow, I got a sample of juice with an order, fell in love now I have 240ml of it coming tomorrow.

Found out my Prize Vaporesso Revenger (just the mod) I won on VU Live got shipped out from 101vape.com today..

Checked out my fasttech order to see if it shipped but it hasn't yet..

So far I've vaped about 10ml of ejuice today :D

Just blew a cloud..

That's about it for today..

As for tomorrow..

Going to go through all my vape stuff and give away any MTL stuff/accessories I have and haven't used in forever and have no intentions to ever use again... I literally have a box of atty's okay a small box but a box none the less of stuff that hasn't seen daylight in over a year >.<

I've been thinking about getting one for quite some time, I don't have a triple battery mod yet, I do have x2 Wismec Noisy Cricket II-25's and x2 Smoant Charon Adjustable (v v) and I've falling in love with Potentiometer vaping so that's my next target, maybe next month...

I just recently sold some vape stuff I no longer used. It benefits both buyer and seller, I think.

I just got a $50 birthday gift today and am thinking of getting a Zenith kit with the money. I have yet to try a potentiometer but look forward to it.

I continued my squonk RDA binge. I think it might be around 6 RDA's I purchased in the last couple few days. Suffered some vaper's remorse. Then relentlessly checked tracking numbers from all over the world.

Got a new cereal flavor from the B&M, Pebbles. It's a bit throaty needs to steep. Got some more juice of stuff I already know I like (mellow charms mmm).

Tried wicking my Troll RTA looser and wound up with a HUGE fuckin mess... Losing hope. I'm pretty sure RTA's were not designed for vapers like me. ~30ml a day. It either wicks to slow to keep up or leaks the first 1/4-1/3 of the tank before it vapes like I think it should. Glad I've decided that I'm a squonk person.

I'm contemplating selling all the stuff that's not squonk related. Sort of on the fence. Prob start on that tomorrow.

I've decided owning a device that although vapes well, is pretty much just vape porn, considering it just sits on my desk where I can admire it's beauty. Grimm Green calls it his "Ideal Vape". It's awesome, but it doesn't squonk, so it's probably going to go as well. I get the feeling it's going to be one of those things that after it's gone, some time down the road, I'll be kicking myself in the ass for selling it.

It's so simple, turn the dial until you like it... No more focusing on wattage or voltage or anything like that... once you enjoy the vape don't turn it anymore...

How is that any different from variable wattage? The real reason I vape at <10w? That's how I like it!

It's actually pretty simple, vv/vw circuits offer constant voltage/wattage, it reads the level of the battery and adjusts the output so it is constant, potentiometer+mosfet allows you to feel the voltage drop much like a mechanical mod.. for someone that primarily DL's it kind of allows for you to take longer hauls, so lets say you have a fully charged battery with a 0.25 build, you fire it at 4.2 volts at first you get the initial warm up at 70ish watts then the voltage drops to a slightly lower wattage I'll just say 60w lowering the chances of the coil overheating..

It's much closer to a mechanical than a VV/VW device is and knowing your style of vaping I don't think you would personally benefit from it :)

Ugh. Last day of my short reprieve. Tomorrow it's back to the ol' grind. The only thing I've done today is vape on things only yesterday I was preparing to sell off. What a finicky being I am.

I've always tried to reduce clutter in all aspects of my life. Lately, my desk has become fairly cluttered. I fear I may have vape hoarding tendencies. I've only been vaping what, 3 months now? Entirely to much clutter with more on the way. I may need an intervention.

As long as I'm not smoking stinkies, perhaps there is still hope.

I made some stands for my atties out of arizona tea bottle caps. I started by poking a hole in the center with a phillips head screwdriver. Then I step drill it with a 9/64" bit and then a 1/4" bit. Once you remove the burrs, the atties screw in very easy. They work well.

Yeah... I've got a couple of mechs, but they're really just vapocalypse insurance; I've also got 4-5 Kicks stashed away to put in them, since I really hate having the vape get less and less satisfying with every hit -- I encountered that with my very first vape, an eRoll, and completely hated it; the next I got was an iTaste vv3, and it suited me a LOT better. And two of the 3 I eventually got still work; my son is using them with cartos, since newer mods don't seem to like high resistance (which used to be "standard resistance" :giggle:).

Modern advanced VW circuits usually come with extra features that allow you to move away from constant wattage. But the vape experience on that still only feels like trying to mimic a sweet guitar through an antiquated cheap Yamaha synthesizer. LOL

Yeah lots have the bypass feature but I never liked it, doesn't give the feeling I'm looking for or even power curves could work if you set it up right but still it doesn't seem to be the same...

Headed back to work tonight. So I stayed up until 3:00 this morning watching some TV with my wife. Got up at 10:00 and have been having coffee, vaping, and perusing the forum.

No pics yet, not even sure it's photo worthy lol. Got my thinner gauge wire in the mail so earlier this evening I threw together a quick setup for wrapping wire using a couple pieces of 2x3 to clamp down to the desk. Used a keyring with a couple screws to hold it and anchored a set of swivels up high to match the height of my drill as well as a screw down lower to run another set of swivels in line with the drill laid on its side. Figured that way I could run either/or depending on where I was working.

Once I threw that together I made a first attempt at fused claptons. 3x28g ss316 cores with 38ga ni80 wrap. It came out pretty mediocre but I guess not too bad considering I don't have the best light in my room. Used the glow from my pc monitor to backlight it and tried to watch the wraps which added a degree of difficulty I didn't need lol. Other than a few small sections most of it turned out ok. A bit twisted and no nylon pliers yet so didn't get all fancy flattening it out first. Might need to get some smaller pliers for that, most of my tools are general repair/automotive, nothing really sized for delicate stuff.

A 7 wrap 3.5mm single coil for my ammit came out just under .34 ohms. Can't say I'm disappointed, it's smoother than my previous twisted coils. They popped a little but nothing too bad in an rta (no hot pops on the lips or anything). Flavor's definitely better. Clouds don't seem to be as big but they're denser and more flavorful, being a flavor junky that's a win. At least my first run wasn't complete junk, got enough for a couple coils out of it.

Tracking, tracking, tracking.....ordered replacement glass for some tanks. Vaped at least 5 different flavors. DIY'd some cookie butter experimental juice...hoping for the best in that one. Thinking I might have too much stuff....nah. Reorganized my flavors a bit. Still early!

As for removing twists, there are a couple simple fixes.

One that is surprisingly effective is lay your multiple core wire on the table, grab one end, and with your other hand, roll a chapstick on the wire away from you. Will get most twists out.

Another is while your wire build is still on the drill, grab the swivel end with a pair of pliers and pulse the drill in the opposite direction as you wound the wrap. By pulse, i mean quick burststhat turn the drill around ONE time. Repeat until fairly straight.

Coiling usually will work the twists out, so I usually don't get too crazy straightening wire unless it is just way too twisted.

Many times trying to work them out with the nylon pliers left me worse off than I started.

I built two Fused Clapton coils and put them in my Herakles tank along with trying a different way of wicking (less cotton). It works beautifully! My atty is sitting on my Fuchai and it's a solid setup at 80 watts. Due to trying less cotton in my wick made it so I'm no longer getting dry hits. I'm stoked!

Thanks for the tips, I'll have to try it. It didn't appear to be the cores that twisted/rolled over one another (I used several paperclips to help hold the cores), just twist from the drill.

The other thing that seemed to be my biggest problem was holding the wrap spool. Tension wasn't an issue, nothing snapped but trying to regulate the spool in my hand while maintaining tension seemed to lead to spaced wraps. I found it easier to just hold the wrap spool in my hand with a length of lead off the spool and allow it to wind up. Faster drill speeds actually seemed to give better and more consistent results but I was wrapping with the lead of wire I let off the spool then pausing the drill, unspooling another 18" or so and firing it back up. I felt like the repeated stopping in the middle and starting back up again may have led to small gaps. Almost as if there were imperfections along the wire like 'oh, that's a place I stopped, oh there's another' lmao. I'll get the hang of it.

Put the spool in a ziploc baggie. Cut one of the corners out and feed the wire out of the hole. Hold the spool with minimum tension a foot away from the cores. The added distance minimizes any movement you make. Keep it about 90degrees from the cores. Amazing how it just falls into place. Find your happy place for drill speed between medium and fast.

Rewicked my Limitless Plus, ordered some coils for my wife's Baby Beast, browsed mods to find the one I won't regret buying...considering the Smoant Charon at this point.
