Well, somehow I messed up my black Hussar RTA. One of the posts came loose from the base, and I can't get the thing apart to reattach the post. Will compare that tank to my other Hussar and see if anything can be done.

Meanwhile, I needed a black tank to put into rotation on my eLeaf iStick 100TC, so I pulled a Herakles Honor out of mothballs. Had forgotten how good a vape comes from this tank, even with a 1.8 ohm coil in it. Max wattage on that coil is 50W (!) but I'm only running it at 28W (7.5V omg). Just warm enough, lots of vapor, good flavor. Now if I can just refill it properly to keep it from leaking. It's persnickety, as I recall from using it before. @Just Frank do I remember you saying you have a Herakles in rotation?

This 1.8 ohm coil running at wattage this high makes nonsense out of everything I thought I understood about coils and wattage. Normally I'd run a 1.8 ohm coil at about 12-15W if it were something like a Nautilus coil or even a 30ga coil that I wound myself. With this coil, though (same size as an Atlantis), up to a point anyway, the higher the wattage, the better the flavor and the fluffier the vapor. I can't help but think that if I ran a Nautilus coil this high, I'd burn it right up. So what's the difference?

I just discovered that this coil has a ceramic sleeve in it. It is described as a "dual parallel vertical configuration." From VaporDNA's description:

"The Herakles Honor Replacement Coil allows for backwards compatibility with the original Herakles platform, and with the marquee 1.8 ohm dual parallel coil structure, elevates both the Honor and the original system to new heights. The culmination of Sense's considerable research into advanced coil designs, the new 1.8 ohm coil features a reverse sandwich design that utilizes both a Japanese Organic Cotton and Food Grade Porous Ceramic wicking element. Internally, the dual parallel vertical structure is surrounded by the rapidly absorbing cotton wicking material, which is then surrounded by the durable and long lasting ceramic element. The result is an astoundingly pure flavor recreation with an previously unachieved combination of a 1.8 ohm resistance with a range of 20 to 50W."
I have an OG Herakles in rotation. But I use the 0.2(30-70) coil. I love it! Kind of a PITA to refill, but the flavor is pretty damn good, for a pre made coil.

May I be so bold as to inquire by what thought process my expressing the need for allen and torx drivers you have arrived at the need to paint a mod?

It's plastic so sanding and painting should be a breeze.....

Or finding black panels which will have to be made.....

The German company made 200 before they folded and got bought out by Sbody.........

Of course. How could I have failed to deduce that from allen and torx drivers :)

Got another order from fasttech in today, loving that 15% sale they had. Dpro mini. Haven't decided what to put in it yet, small little deck, I'm open to ideas.

Haven't painted the RX2 case yet, got a few other things going the same colour that I want to get ready first.

Pocket screw drivers are a must. Those are my medium size, I have a smaller shorter set, and a slightly larger set. All the phillips, torx, inverted torx, allen, everything you need. I might have paid $20 for all of them over the years?

I figured that bonza would want some monster coils, it's got lots of air flow and a big chamber. Hows it like the round wire build?

I really like the way it’s hitting now. They come out to .5 and I’ve got my Moonbox set just over 50. The first coils I had on it were Geekvape Clapton wire coils I made but the flavor I was getting was pretty muted so I tried round wire and it worked really well for me. I should add I’ve only been vaping as a hobbyist for 7m and the last two addy’s I’ve bought I’ve ended up on here asking for help lol

I received a Pulse Dual on Friday. I immediately set it up with the installed dual coil setup using the supplied coils.
Very nice flavorful vape and this being a dual battery mod I felt this would be a good setup for it.
I was right but I just couldn't wait to try it with the single coil air flow setup.
So I put in a nice 6 wrap 3mm ID Clapton 0.18 ohms and I'm impressed.
Very nice! Very smooth flavorful vape at 50 watts.

This is a great little device.

Just found this thread! Hello everybody! :)

Today I used Vapor Joe's Deals newsletter to learn about, & then buy 18650 batteries for cheap!

At Central Vapors they had a good deal on some LG HE4 18650 batteries, only about $4 apiece! I was able to use code "VAPECHEAP" to make the total with shipping only just over $16 for 4 batteries! Woohoo! :)

I love Vapor Joe's newsletter, or gives me alerts on kick-ass deals. This is the forum that keeps on giving, I tell ya! :)

Ordered 2 mtl squonk atomizers - 18mm Speed Revolution and 18mm Speed Up, for $19 total, saw I was charged $140, remembered that Fasttech saves old carts for forever (almost ordered a bunch of mods I was just price checking weeks ago)

I also have a Desire Cut squonk mod I the way, probably won't be here for a couple more weeks though. Got it for dirt cheap ! :)

Do you know if the fire button is really as awkward to push as everyone seems to say it is?

I'm not sure. A couple members here haven't mentioned it.

I loved it, and in either hand, index finger or thumb! Must be a personal preference

I sold it and got a Rage, solely to get 2 batteries, and I also like the Rage's button, but liked the Cut's much more

Too close, my bank account is $140 less than it was and will be until I get my refund

To me it's very ergonomic.
Right hand = index finger
Left hand = thumb

EDIT: and of course you could switch that around for either hand if you don't catre about seeing the screen. :)

I decided it was time to change from dual coil to single coil on my IJOY RDTA Combo clone. I put in a staircase Clapton. The tank had a little of my older juice. I refilled it with my banana pecan custard. Oddly enough, the resulting flavor tastes like red licorice. The vapor is sure good enough to tease hubby's sweet tooth.

Got into a debate on the front porch with my father telling me that vaping is still bad for me and I needed to give it up while he was sitting there smoking a $40 Punch Cigar that I got a few of for him for Christmas.
Then my 350 pound cousin joins in saying that because it has “Propylene Glycerine” and “Vegetable Glycol” which are main ingredients in antifreeze that I should quit and when correcting his mismatch of the naming of the chems used and bringing up water being an ingredient for antifreeze as well, still says it’s because those things have nicotine in them, to which I explain the nicotine I add isn’t part of the pg/vg ratio until I add it.
Got tired of the conversation and told my dad if he wants to give me $40 back for that cigar and that my cousin was banned from the dessert counter, then I’d happily quit vaping for the rest of the day ::Cloud::

Edit: I will admit that as difficult as that kind of conversation can be, trying to make my points wearing Pickachu grippy socks my 9 year old son got me for Christmas didn’t help matters at all...

I had to sorta turn mine this way and that, but finally oriented it in my right hand to fire with my thumb, and the screen falls in between my thumb and index finger. Don't have to hit the squonk bottle all that often, so it's nice like this to me.

Just about every RDA I've put on the Cut vapes better on it than any other device I have. To me, it's an exceptional mod. Nice to have 21700 battery life, too.

It especially likes my Drop Solo. None of my other mods like it at all.

That is hysterical. I think your Pikachu slipper socks speak to your more generous and open-minded side. Hell with 'em if they don't have a sense of humor.

You know what I've decided? I'm not arguing with anyone about vaping, or food, or caffeine, or saturated fat, or how I drive, or drinking soft drinks, or how I keep my house, or anything else that isn't absolutely earth-shattering.

People have their opinions about stuff, and trying to change them is akin to trying to change the weather. It just ain't happenin.

Merry Christmas! Wish I had me some Pikachu slipper socks! :p

Vaping is bad for you..... The reality is that is safer than smoking.....

The best and healthy way is to inhale nothing......

But to me Vaping is something I enjoy.... And I like buying shit.......

Updated the firmware on the Aegis Legend that my son gave me, so I could use temp control with SS coils.

Had never done an update before. Very nearly gave up before I got it done, because I didn't have the cable that came with the Aegis. That plug, damn is it ever hard to get to. Cable plug housing has to be narrow to fit. Finally tried the cable that came with the Desire Cut I just got the other day. That one finally worked.

The temp control is very nice, much improved over what it was like before the update. Flavor from my Queenside clone (orange cream) juice is exceptional with dual SS coils at 0.49 ohms in a Fireluke RTA with the airflow cranked down to about 1/3 of full-open.
