They were it here when I was a kid. Bon was nuts...and typifyed our then generation in my time.
The best songs in my opinion was when Bon was the lead singer. I stopped listening after he died.

I think the ban carried on at the insistence of Bon's parents.
He had even told his bandmates about Brian just months before his passing.
