I've ordered the book by Ludovic Kennedy, I'm sure there will be more intense details than in the movie.

Ooh, that sounds good. Thanks! I really like true crime, it’s scarier to me than fiction.
I watch Crime Watch UK on YT. The ones from the 80’s and 90’s can be very creepy!

Right after xmas, I finally got to see the 2nd "Independence Day" movie, because my husband wanted to finally delete it from our DVR. It was ok; would definitely have been better with Will Smith, because really, anything would be better with him in it! But I guess that would have made the character's son less of a big deal in the 2nd movie.

Was really nice to see that Brent Spiner is still kicking around, even if he is very definitely an old fart now... hell, who isn't! :teehee: Jeff Goldblum with gray hair is decidedly odd.

I don't keep great track of movies apparently. Know what you mean about people getting old. So awhile back I watched 'Unbreakable' with Bruce Willis and Samuel Jackson. Could've been last year, year before. Whatever. So I saw 'Glass' was on and thought cool a sequel. Started watching and thought wow, is it just me or is Willis looking old these days?

So I look it up. Guess so, 'Unbreakable' came out in 2000, 'Glass' was in 2019. The older kid playing his son was the same kid from the first movie lol. Didn't realize they were 19yrs apart. Oh and that apparently it was the 3rd movie and I missed 'Split'. What's a decade or two between movies and missing the middle movie. Pfft. lol.

I'd love to see that movie again. It was very interesting.

i pretty much only watch a movie 1 time. unless its on tv and i'm just sit'n around. but only one time "seriously", on the big screen.

it is. just goes to show the bull shit that is going on behind our backs. and the snowden thing doesn't even scratch the surface.

I don't normally watch movies multiple times, either. One like Snowden, though, has so much information in it, sometimes I have to watch multiple times to keep up with all of it.

I could make some statements of opinion about Mr. Snowden, but I don't feel like fighting here in the forum. I'm absolutely certain it would piss someone off, and last night was enough for me. I said something that rubbed someone wrong and got "admonished." Pissed ME right off. No thank you. :)

well. one thing that could be said about Snowden. what he did, in the end, made no difference in anything. well, other than him basicly ruining his own life over it.

Snowden. pretty darned good. i wish i was 1/4 as smart as this guy.
If you haven't already you should also watch the documentary film, Citizenfour (2014).

Maybe just a tiny little bit of a difference in the EU because actually the GDPR was adopted within less than a year after.

Watched a few on Amazon prime yesterday.

Mud with Matthew McConaughey. Really good movie.

The tall men... very long, slightly creepy. Not terrible.

Rememory. Long, kinda boring. Reminiscent of the final cut with Robin Williams only not as good.

Watched 'The Accountant' again, still pretty good movie. Nice seeing Afleck playing a more serious role for contrast.

On the bright side at least I'm able to watch tv/movies. Directv bout got me pissed. Been a customer with them a solid 15yrs or so. Recently had the typical issue with a receiver going out and was using the older style whatever it was. Apparently those have been phased out. So I had to upgrade to a newer genie style setup. Does that require a new dish, this is the type of dish I have. Oh no sir it uses the same dish. Bullshit phonetard, yes it requires a new dish. Fantastic.

So living in a rural area I usually don't get actual directv repair people out. They hand off to a 3rd part installer run by a bunch of dinks. I have a private pole, like a power pole but with no power run to it. Ask directv oh sure, we can put it on an existing private pole. 3rd party dildos show up, derp a derp, we can't put it on a pole, we have to put it on a short pole on the ground. Oh it can't see the sky because trees derpa derp. No shit, hence - the pole.

The new service sucks balls. It costs more money, at least once every 24hrs it just randomly shuts off so it's down for 20min or more rebooting. Fantastic if it happens in the middle of recording shows. You watch a program that's highlighted as a new recording, it grays out. Then in the next day or two there it is lit up again like it was never watched, as if it's a new recording. It auto deletes crap so you go to recover it or delete it. Delete, nope still there. Mark 'keep', nope, still in the warning bin.

Barely had the service a couple months, suddenly tv's out. Great. Call whatever foreign shitshow office they're using this week where I can't understand the operator. They want to schedule a service call. They want the 3rd party tools to come out, so I explain the issue that it's on a private pole. 3rd party won't service it there, then I'll have to call back and right back to square one. Have a light dusting of snow on the ground, not even an inch of snow. Apparently that's all it takes because rinsing the powder of snow off the dish restored satellite signal. Seriously? The old dish worked fine for over a decade through temps in the -20's, damn near tornadoes and hurricane force winds, ice storms, 8" of snow and never once had to rinse it off. This is the 'upgrade'? Fuck me sideways. As with most things, wish they'd just stop new and improving things to death.

Moon (2009). I guess it was ok but damn what a slooooowww movie. Another one they kind of said fuck it when it came time to wrap up the ending. That's a bit disappointing, I wish movies would focus on the ending instead of like 2 seconds of so this happened and the end. Meh. Another one of those lone dude stuck in space type movies, had a little bit of a twist. Nowhere near as good as 'The Martian' with Matt Damon. Nice contrast of another movie with someone stuck by themselves in space that still managed to be exciting and humorous. Maybe not a fair comparison, Matt Damon's a much better actor and capable of carrying a lone role much better.

Watched Zombieland Double Tap and laughed my ass off. Good for a sequel for sure and I think they may do a 3rd one.

Watched Uncut Gems this evening and all I can say is WOW. For an Adam Sandler movie, we had some laughs, but a really powerful ending and an interesting story line.

I watched The Peacemaker yesterday. It's starring Nichole Kidman and George Clooney. Both understandably looked way younger. Not sure if Kidman does a lot of facial surgery but a lot of pretty actresses (and Mickey Rourke) think they need to.

Just watched 'The Cutting Edge' again, still a fun movie. "Toe pick" lmfao.

@Teresa P I know what you mean. I see a lot of older movies and like to rewatch them, 80's stuff. Ghostbusters (Bill Murray), The Burbs. Monty Python and the Holy Grail is always a good replay. For as raunchy as a lot of newer comedy is, it's just lacking in a lot of more current movies imo. And I'm not a prude or anything, I think George Carlin is hilarious and so was Bad Santa and a host of others. But while the actual language and antics are more 'pg-ish' in the older movies, less edgy.. they were incredibly entertaining. Sort of highlights the downward spiral of current artistic entertainment.

Not only that, maybe I'm getting older. I'm a sucker for a movie that starts out where it's supposed to and has a beginning, middle and most importantly wraps that shit up with a real ending. A few leave a sort of open ending and done properly it can have an impact. Other movies are like they escaped the home intruder, avoided murder, went to the town, stopped for gas. Got a burrito - fade to blue.. like what the actual fuck, so what happened? Did they catch the intruder? What happened to like half your family we didn't see them get out of the car. Cmon! lol

Chris Watts: Confessions of a Killer...only served to stir up a lot of anger but was pretty accurate to how that story actually unfolded. But also didn't end as I thought it should.

"The Soloist," Robert Downey Jr. and Jamie Foxx. So well done, but upsetting and realistic. Heartbreaking.

Just finished watching this. I liked it. Different.
Looks pretty good, I'll have to check it out. Even if they're a bit over the top, usually enjoy space movies. This one looks like it's got quite a bit of action in it as well.

The Amazing Spider Man. I liked it. The plot stood true withe the the plot from the comic book.

One I've been waiting to watch is The Green Book. Currently on Roku it is in the rent/buy rotation. A little while longer and I'm sure TBS/TNT/USA/FXNow will be running it to watch free with minimal commercial breaks. Looks to be a worthwhile movie suitable to our times and ripe to be a classic.
