Hey Magic, it may calm some of it but not all, if you have an alpha male that is a bit aggressive with other males, it's gonna take a bit of socializing and obedience training to get him to act properly when out walking or being in the same areas with other males. You be the leader not him:)

Can understand what you're saying. This morning I was practicing that as well. I could have let myself become impatient but remained as calm as I could. My wife told me that I did an excellent job of it. I'm the 'git 'er done' kind and this morning I was more the 'ah, it'll come along when it's ready' kind. He is skiddish because as well as being the alpha of our remaining dogs, he was runt of the liter, earned alpha. Darn hounds anyway. That and I fear he has fought with coyotes in our area.

He is way too territorial. I scruff him at times. Been bringing him down via his legs, gently, then taking time with him to get him accustom to me. Let him know Papa isn't going to hurt him, nor will Papa let anyone else hurt him. I will continue this until he starts coming to us without all the nervous circling, without needing his sister acting as buffer.

Well aware of the lesson/s he's teaching me, whilst I'm trying to teach him. I hesitate or pull away at times because I do not want his respect by fear. I want his respect for respect. Trying to stay equalized. Yes, I want to be a pack lead. But I'm not the super domineering pack lead, hang back let it all go as it needs unless there's trouble.

In short, working on it and doing best I can. Hoo Yaa Hey, 'nother running day. :) ... Ugh. whew. "keep going ben, push through." Apologies, the meds fight to soothe the nerves ... of course the nerves get other ideas. Think I try laying meditation, probably pass out. *shrugs*

Not a wuss or braggart, just know nurses use happy face pain scale. I say number 3, they see it as ten other people saying 8 or more. Fracking silly nerve, be nice to just rip it out and not have the pain, but oh nooo ... I'm told that's a no go by a former Lt. navy nurse. :gaah::cuss2: * goes to his rack 'for he gets cantankerous *

Sounds like you are taking control, he will learn respect faster with a good pack leader, he will soon look to you for direction and focus. :)

Use a pattern interrupt in training, something that slightly startles him and gains his attention. A plastic jar or bottle with a few rocks in it that you shake during training.

From that other place your were babbling about? lol
Yes that place I've been babbling about. Little different job but yeah, that place. It's incredibly hard to give up on a place after 15 years but my gut is telling me to get out. Couple smallish things to nail down and I'm going to take it this time. Enough babbling about it!!!!

Did they fix yo shit?
Yup they did. But they only had one (untrained) second shift cook today so me and the second shift manager ran the store untill one of their cooks showed up. Ended up having about 5 orders between 3-4 and they bitch about not having time to prep anything.
The lazy fuckers lol
