Lupin Mine. NWT. lol Nearest tree is 300 miles away. Nothing but polar bears, ravens foxes and rabbits. Never figured out what the rabbits ate.
I use to watch this show "Ice Pilots".....and I think that they were in NorthWest Territories. Anyways, I thought that those guys were pretty crazy up there......Flying those old DC10's in -50* weather. Takes a RARE breed to live up that way....in that kind of cold.

DC3s. I no longer live there, Buffalo Joe is based in Yellowknife, that was south of the Lupin Mine. The flights into Lupin were on the company 727, which landed on an ice runway. The 727 was half cargo, half passenger, and we operated it on a waiver which allowed us to carry the explosives in the foreward cargo section, and passengers in the back. The Captain Bill Granley, knew I was a pilot, so he offered me the jumpseat. The Lupin Mine gets 5 million liters of deisel every year when the ice road is open, as in "Ice Road Truckers". Being there is like living on the moon. Every time you go outside, its like an invisible man hiding behind the door gives you a shot to the head.

Those low temps would be the death of me badwolf. As it is the colder days (under 20°) trigger migraines for me even if I'm only outside a second. I'd be living in a frozen hell

A few seasons ago when the ice road assholes were in AK I knew that road in the mountains they traveled. In the summer it is kind of white knuckle, doing it in the dead of winter hell no.

Spent the summer 25 miles at times from Prudoe bay and you are correct there is jack shit up there. Besides clouds of vampires (skeeters) fur roaches and stuff that would be more than happy to stomp you into the tundra.

That's why I own a 44 mag lol. Anywhere I plan on going I'm prepared for crazy wildlife grizzly cocksucks. No big deal. Then there's always the s&w 500 with 1 3/8" barrel for a last ditch "I'm not dying even if I break my wrist" shot

Hi Ya Boat what are you up to tonight
Modifying rdas . Got one done but it was a clear plastic cap. I put an imitation lush patern on bith sides of it and 4 top flow holes. Im curently adding 4 topflow holes to the vulcan. Then i gotta drill the post holes on all 3 of these new attys. So i got a decent chunk of the night to go. The onky hard on will be the vulcans top flow. Its metal and thick and im useing a small drill bit.

How bout you?

Ever since I realized that the rifled chimney on my Goliath V2 was precisely .25 cal, I have believed that vaping and guns go together....lolol
So they get barrels to use for rta chimneys now
