Dude, you need to think of safety before money with all this stuff. With a Mech you are the safety device. There is no little magic silicon microchip from the aliens to stop it from venting battery acid all over your hands and face if you hard short, overdraw, or do any number of other unsafe things.
I'm not trying to scare off from any of this stuff, but part of why some of us are online is to help each other stay safe and enjoy the hobby end not become a statistic.

Im staying safe. All my calculations are on a battery capable of 20 amps. My battery is a 25 amp battery. And im carefully as shit about shorts. And im scared shitless about blowi mg myself up. So im fucking checking and triple checking before i fire the mech up.

So you know. That is NOT A 25A battery. that is a 20A battery.

Bottom Line
In my opinion, this is a fantastic 20A continuous discharge current (CDR) cell with good capacity for its rating. I recommend not using it above 30A. I have included 30A-70A pulsed discharges but I haven't set pass/fail standards for pulse testing yet.
Comments

  • At 10A it reached about 2375mAh. This is fantastic performance for a 2500mAh-rated cell at 10A. I am giving this cell a capacity rating of 2500mAh.
  • At 15A the maximum temperature reached 62°C. This is way below the average temperature of a cell operating at its CDR.
  • At 20A the maximum temperature reached 76°C. This is about the average for a cell operating at its CDR.
  • At 25A the temperature rose to 90°C. This is too hot a temperature for a cell operating at its CDR.
  • At 30A the temperature rose to 101°C. This just exceeds my 100°C safety limit and is way too hot for a cell to operate at.
  • Five additional cycles at 20A showed absolutely no signs of damage to the cell. I am setting a CDR of 20A for this cell. While operating any cell near its rated maximum current causes damage to the cell, I would expect good cycle life from this cell at 20A.
  • Pulsed-current discharges were done at 30A-70A, 5sec on/30sec off, down to 2.5V. One chart shows the entire discharge at each level. The other chart is zoomed in to show the first 5 minutes to make it easier to see the voltage sag at different current levels.

I need more juice. Ima buy morw tokorrow. Also i gave up trying to put a build in the madhatter for my mech. I need to be sober for that atty. So i riped the claptons out my torque and put just dual 24 at 6 wraps. Ohms to .35 and its a good vape on this thing

they wont. if I use a single batt mech all day I can plan on using 5-6 batteries. I start to notice the sag around 3.8-3.9v

Ive hit the mech about 10 times on the claptons and maby 20 on the sub basic build. I got. Good thing i got 2 unmaired batteries. But i can see myself getting a few more

I'm gonna suggest you go hang out in the mech section and get some build tips. with a mechanical mod, your build is a whole lot more important. you have to think, volume of metal, resistace, and airflow. with a regulated mod, you can just crank up the power to compensate. also your output stays constan; whereas, on the mech it drops immediately. @Break-19 is a wealth knowledge with them.
I used to also like throwing single coil builds on a mech so that I wasn't splitting my output

Yea the few posts hes made about them here show he knows his shit. Headin to the mech fourm isnt a bad idea. Think ill do just that.

I find simple fast ramping build with high quality wire work best in mechs I can get a full day with 2 battery's in my mech, my typical build (nothing fancy.. fancy build take more amp draw and ramp up time killing battery's faster) is a 7 wrap 22g anarchist wire 3mm ID ohms out at around .15.. flavor is awsome ramp up time is instant. doesn't kill your batteries. I messed around with tons of coil configurations from Claptons to stapled helix coils and found for tube mechs simple is better I run all my fancy builds on my unregulated dual 18650 box mods.

If your new to building that's a smart idea.. you want to know your battery's well.. theirs charts that show how much amps you can pull on what batters for how long.. 1 second pulls can get up to 80 amps on good battery's and with a hot build 1 second is plenty
