it's a nifty program. it's what i use for my written reviews. i take shots form the video and make annotations on stuff i point out in the video

Also, member posting stats are viewable for anybody. Go to the profile page and in the bar there is a box called Post Areas that shows those stats

not true at all. back it up with stats. how many % of my 11k posts had review stuff. i'd love to see the number

That was my point.

My old SC program does not work in win 8+


Print screen will put it on the clipboard then you can paste it into paint. Cumbersome but works even with dual monitors.

I read they were doing, that great feature. I just tried it on both Pro and Home but it must not have been in the last update. Something new to look forward to in my drab life.

Yeah you and me both. I used to build all mine and for friends and family, just use them now. Then again I also used to do a lot of gaming also, but that got old and no decent games any longer IMO. Hell I've even dropped my Internet access at home since the plan on my phone is unlimited data. I've been doing IT professionally since the early 90's it's lost it's charm ya know.

I used to be in my computer's case so often, I left the cover off. But when I bought this laptop and wanted to upgrade the RAM from 4gb to 16GB, I had to completely disassemble the entire thing to get at the RAM... after I got the first layer apart, I decided I really didn't wanna get any further into it, and called MicroCenter (where I bought it) to ask how much they charged to do it -- $30. "Done! I'll bring it in tomorrow!"

My 1st PC came with a 1,200 Baud Rate Modem and now I have 8 Workstations/Servers in a 42U Network Rack with Gigabit Network. I remember trying to shoehorn programs in a 250 MB HDD and now I count how many Tera Bytes. Still have true floppy disks around too!


Edit: I just saw I wrote a 250 MG HDD! LMFAO

I was a full fledged techno dweeb on the bleeding edge of Unix server tech. Worked with clusters of the biggest meanest Sun servers they built.
Bunch of smart kids that lived that stuff.
I was good but they were VERY good.

I was a full fledged techno dweeb on the bleeding edge of Unix server tech. Worked with clusters of the biggest meanest Sun servers they built.
Bunch of smart kids that lived that stuff.
I was good but they were VERY good.

I miss Sun, Solaris was the most advanced OS there was, I miss it. Sun hardware also runs forever, I miss them. I also miss the old HP with HPUX

I have a copy of solaris for X86 PC... Ran it a while on an old PC.

Seems like I downloaded it for free from Sun?
I forget been 17 years ago....

We used the Korn kernal at work.
We also had failover servers in the cluster for theoretically 100% availability.
Did not always work out that way though

I was a client server application administrator.
At the time it had the most lines of code of any client server app.

- I simply miss when HP made quality! This thing is not at all built like the machines they used to put out

I resisted getting a laptop for years, since I could get a much more powerful and loaded machine with a desktop, for the same money. But when I was able to get a core i5 with 16gb for right around $500, I couldn't pass it up. I compared the specs of 3-4 different laptops, and this one was the best, hands down, across the board -- including the battery life. And it's been a damned decent PC, though I had some problems with my video driver after a recent Win update; had to hunt down an updated video driver. It's now about 2.5 yrs old, and still works just great. And I confess, being able to discombobulate it and take it with me if I want to, that's amazing. Though I prefer it connected to my 2nd monitor, regular keyboard and mouse, and awesome Logitech speakers.

I used to have a couple of Sparks I ran at home plus worked with the big iron at work. I loved the hot swappable cpu's, just plug in bank of 4 cpu's, touch the kernel and Bob's your Uncle. Then when Solaris implemented their self healing file system, damn!
