Yeah, thats what I was thinking, the underside of the top. But couldn't it also be the top side of the top piece of a bottom fire button? And the scratches are battery swirl?
I don't know about the underside. I think the raised portions on the right and left are purchase for your fingertips to unscrew it.

1. its not a potato quality picture ( ruled out, cause it is lol )
2. Non-threaded, so its not a top cap
3. This side up always refers to battery orientation ( does not mean mechs...could be single battery door contact or as pictured many times battery twist plug
4. Juicy :Bunny: my reply when I mentioned the swirls, which imo still is a switch housing, but it could be battery adjustment housing

I just keep seeing those two holes and get reminded of the Second version of the Noisy Cricket
But then I have to remind myself the center hole is unthreaded...then I get drawn back into the idea of the swirl marks being possibly from a battery or magnet and have to remind myself it’s already been shot down as part of a button assembly or hybrid connector (again, no threads), but my simple mindedness won’t let me erase the ideas from my head. I’m thinking this is either just before my time or the fact that I haven’t used anything but a mech tube for the last couple of years. I’m sure we’ll all have a collective Facepalm when it’s figured out.

No doubt it’s completely wrong, but maybe to get people thinking a bit more abstract is that it has some similarities to part of either a juice flow control system or air control system of an RDTA...my old Aromamizer Supreme that I just resurrected has a somewhat similar design in one of its pieces.
