Hello Zephyr.... I don't know the science of coils in the least so I have a question. I've heard that SSFC coils are excellent for flavor, but I only vape at 30-40 watts max. Are those coils best only at high wattage and would be overkill for the wattage that I vape at? I vape out of a Bonza RDA and I have 3 iJoy EXO RDTA's. I've been shopping for another RDA and RDTA, but not sure what to get yet. Anyway, my mods are a Smoant Cylon, Lost Vape Therion, and Hometech Hohm Wrecker.

What gauge and type of wire do you vape in your rebuildables, and are they single or dual coils?
Mostly I've been using some coils made by Ohm Science. I use single coil and in particular the ones I like the best so far are called Alpha Braid and are labeled like this: 0.3*0.6+40*32 Ni80 0.26Ohms. They usually end up at 0.28 - 0.32 once installed
That's great - a SSFC single coil for 30-40 watts is definitely doable, and will give great flavor yep
I looked that up - that is one piece of .3x.6mm of nichrome ribbon/rectangle wire with 8 loops of 40g nichrome braided around it - the spools say 40*16 N80, the coils say 40*32 but I believe are mislabled - should be 8 loops (or 16 total strands) Celtic braided

I have used quite a few coils from you. Have a set from sometime in July that are still in use, regularly. Your coils are awesome.
For those of you not 'in the know' Meg is also a mixologist! I've been getting a salted caramel custard from her, dubbed "Big Comfy Couch" for a bit now. It is amazing. It works as an ADV as well as a nice break up of of other juices if/when you need a change. I have at least 1 atty with this mix in it at all times!!
I'll start by saying after placing an order, my coils were in my mailbox days before I would've expected. Lightening fast! Zephyr is super knowledgeable and a great person. Me being a newbie RDA user, I didn't have a clue where to start? But each question I asked was met with an informative response which helped me along the way to deciding which coils were right for me, my vaping style, and vaping setup. Couldn't have been easier. So obviously I recommend buying some of Zephyrs coils. I'll be placing another order next payday lol
I have Alien Framed Staples in two tanks since October. I vape constantly because I work at home, and I'm a chain vaper. Both sets are still practically pristine looking and flavor is amazing.
I have two more of the same tanks on the way and plan to put the same coils in.
Transcribing audio and captioning isn't keeping my hands busy enough -

On a case-by-case basis, though, I do like to occasionally share my DIY with other people on VU
Well, I went into it pretty hard last year - I (hopefully) won't get so stuck on macro photography again, but it was fun and I figured I should at least put it in my signature as a sort of "here's what I can do" thing
That is art. I really like the coils made with the 40g and smaller. That's pure skill.
I feel it depends on the buy. Some will want fast and other want to fresh made to order personal handmade touch.
I definitely like making them that way, for individuals
I'm considering having a few pairs already made, they won't be cheaper than made-to-order coils though - learned my lesson from that last year, when a guy kept ordering like 10-12 pairs and trying to get more for free - pretty sure he was re-selling them :<

I think having a couple aliens/claptons, some SS, on hand would be good.
Also probably advertise MTL coils (other than just round wire), what with all the rebuildable pods now, along with rta's/rba's...

Money is usually best made by getting many people to give you a little each. (relatively speaking)
The trouble with something like coil building is that what makes one builder stand out from another is more exotic builds, which are time consuming. Also, exotic builds make fine art, but are overkill for a good vape so few people are willing to pay for the time it takes to spin them.
That means that finding a way to make coils that will be affordable for the buyer, give them a great vape, and still bring you a good profit on your time is the trick. i am only thinking out loud here and might be wrong.
You definitely are well good enough to whip up some dual and triple core claptons and aliens in almost literally no time and material expense is trivial. People are paying you for your time and skill, not your wire.
I would suggest making an inventory and catalog of variations of those kinds of coils in different materials and putting up a web page with pix and cheap prices that still make you money if a lot of people buy them.
I would also put up a gallery there of your very impressive exotic work. This would give people unwavering confidence in your superior abilities and you could also take the less frequent special order, for a lot more money of course, from those who might want those exotic builds.
Cost is everything . People are money conscious, as you are well aware.
They aren't generally willing to pay much more than the cost of a decent subohm coil for a build. This has nothing to do with you. That's just the reality of the situation. I'm not certain of all the details of how to make all this work, but give them that and you will be rolling in business.
All just my opinion and open to revision and correction.

Coils are like $5 a pop now arent they? That'd be about my price (per coil), for coils that last from months to...possibly infinity- compared to subohm tank coils going in the trash every week or two
I really would prefer to sell people what I consider the best functioning coils, and art coils are gonna be pricey (by my broke ass pirate standards) because yeah, those are time consuming and I really don't want to encourage people to think they're a better vape (depending on how artsy fartsy we're talking)

@gsmit1 makes some good points. Sure show off your exotic builds, and while they are works of art, many really aren't that practice. Where you excel is your expertise with very fine wire which I believe really contributes to a superior vape. I'd try to highlight that aspect of your coil making.

I have a pair of coils which were a gift when I bought a NC V1 from her. Imagine free coils for buying a $6 delivered mod. Seriously this is a true story. She included a heat sink as well. So $6 - 1 mod, 1 pair coils ( aliens I think ), and a heat sink..
The coils are in a DR which is in regular rotation. The coils in it are over a year old. Dry burn - rewick, like new. Repeat. The flavor is excellent. Made like my DR again.
You young lady are truely one of the good ones. Buy with confidence, trust, and the expectation of receiving the highest quality coils available.

I would also like to say that @zephyr’s coils are awesome. Plus, she was super helpful guiding me through just the right coils for several mods that I wanted to get up and running. I’m new to RDA’s and she really helped me out.
She was very patient recommending particular batteries and she even sweetened the pot when she sent my order a little later than she had expected.
